...VIJAYBHASKAR GUDIBOINA ID 10000125667 3.6 A 32-bit processor can address 4G memory. How do you build a 32-bit computer with more than 4G memory? A 32-bit only CPU can address a maximum of 4GB (2^32 bits = 4294967296 bits = 4194304 KB = 4096 MB = 4GB). This is the limitation of 32-bit systems. Allocating a page file on top of your RAM if you already have 4GB of physical RAM will be useless. However, even if you have 4GB of physical RAM installed you won't be able to use all of it for your applications. A portion of the upper 3GB address is being occupied by your system devices like your graphics card, BIOS, PCI, etc. That's why on some systems, you will see only 3.27GB of available RAM. This usually varies depending on the hardware. Take a look at the crude illustration below. In normal mode, the 32-bit OS can address this much: +---------------+ 4GB | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | +---------------+ 0 Now if you put in your stuff and your RAM, say 2GB, in this address space: +---------------+ 4GB | BIOS, PCI | | GFX, ETC... | | | | | |---------------+ 3 GB | | | | | EMPTY | | | |---------------+ 2 GB | | | RAM | | | | | +---------------+ 0 If you put another 1GB RAM in there for a total of 3GB it will still be fine because you still have 1GB of EMPTY space. But if you...

Consider a hypothetical 32-bit microprocessor having 32-bit instructions composed of two fields: the first byte contains the opcode and the remainder the immediate operand or an operand address. a. What is the maximum directly addressable memory capacity (in bytes)? b. Discuss the impact on the system speed if the microprocessor bus has 1. a 32-bit local address bus and a 16-bit local data bus, or 2. a 16-bit local address bus and a 16-bit local data bus. c. How many bits are needed for the program counter and the instruction register? Answer: a. 2^(32-8) = 2^24 = 16,777,216 bytes = 16 MB ,(8 bits = 1 byte for he opcode). b.1. a 32-bit local address bus and a 16-bit local data bus. Instruction and data transfers would take three bus cycles each, one for the address and two for the data. Since If the address bus is 32 bits, the whole address can be transferred to memory at once and decoded there; however, since the data bus is only 16 bits, it will require 2 bus...

...Biully Character Sketch Based on the book “Raising Dragons” This book is about a teenage boy by the name of William Bannister who gradually starts to realize that his breath is getting hotter and hotter. By the time he is in high school, his breath is so hot, he sets off the fire alarm. The principal, one of the long lines of dragon slayers going back to the time of king Arthur realized that he has a pupil that has dragon blood. The story is about his struggles, victories, defeats, gains, losses, and friendship. His first character trait that I realized was his kindness. He demonstrated that in Chapter 3. “ Right after school, Billy was walking back home when he saw a little boy being picked on by some bully in high school. He stopped, frozen for a second, wondering what would happen if he helped the little kid. Then he thought what would happen if he didn’t. he dropped his backpack and his books and rushed to the little kid’s aid. When he got close enough, he yelled and said, “why don’t you stop picking on him? He is half your size.” The bully then picked the kid up by the hair “this little squirt?” Boiling with rage, Billy opened his mouth to say something, but words didn’t come out. Fire sprayed the high schooler and he dropped the kid and ran away, with his hair smoking.” That was a great demonstration of his kindness to the kid, and the bravery to stand up to the bully. Another character trait that I noticed was his forgiveness. “ When Billy got home he asked to talk...

...eeper The book I am writing my report on is the Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson. I picked this book because it looks interesting and it’s an adventure book. I love reading adventure books because it feels like I am a part of the adventure. Also the book takes place in China, I like reading books about my culture. This book takes place in a far Western mountain called Huangling Mountain on the edge of the Han Empire in ancient China. A young slave girl with no name lives in one of the Emperor’s palace, looking after the animals and her cruel master. Her parents sold her to Master Lan, an imperial dragon keeper, at a young age. Along the way, the nameless girl found a mouse that she kept for a pet to keep her company. She named the moose Hua. At first Master Lan would do all the work that he was assigned to do, but after a while he started to complain that he is getting older and made the nameless girl do all the work like cooking, feeding the animals including the dragons and etc. The slave was afraid to take care of Master Lan two dragons that lives in a pit, but she puts aside her fears and feeds the dragon every day. But one day the one of the dragons die. The girl felt guilty because the day she had eaten a bowl a fresh food it was meant for the dragons. She made sure to keep the other dragon alive. The girl was afraid when Master Lan decides to get rid of the dead dragon by pickling it. She knows that if you pickling the imperial dragon would mean death if the...

Memahami Struktur Kode...

...RESEARCH ON THE TRENDS IN DRUG ABUSE AND EFFECTIVE MEASURES FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE DRUG ABUSERS IN ASIAN COUNTRIES AN ANALYSIS OF INNOVATIVE MEASURES FOR THE TREATMENT OF DRUG ABUSERS PREFACE Crimes related to drug abuse and the illegal manufacturing and trafficking of drugs are serious problems for virtually every country. The abuse of drugs has an adverse impact, not only on the individual abuser, but also on the economy and society of a country as a whole. Drug use and the problems that accompany it have an extremely deleterious effect on the healthy development of young people, especially. Due to the rapid increase in drug related crime and drug abusers in Asian countries, the establishment of effective countermeasures for demand and supply reduction are a pressing issue. In light of the above-mentioned situation, the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI); and the Research Division of the Research and Training Institute, Ministry of Justice jointly conducted a comprehensive study on drug abuser treatment, from 2002 to 2004, entitled “Research on the Trends in Drug Abuse and Effective Measures for the Treatment of the Drug Abusers in Asian Countries - An Analysis of Innovative Measures for the Treatment of Drug Abusers”. The Asian countries included in the study are: China (Hong Kong), Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. This is the first phase of the study on drug abuser treatment; the second...
