...How do I see myself five years from now? By year 2018, instead of being an astronaut which I cannot fail to remember as my ambition when I was little just like any other kid of my age, I shall have been an alumnus of CvSU getting my certificate in electrical technology. I also see myself in the corporate world applying the skills and knowledge I have in my chosen field and along with the stable job I have is the wellbeing of my family. In the first place, who would not want to help their family and by some means repay the hardships they’ve been through just to support your schooling? Similarly, I also see myself and my family not experiencing the problems we’ve encountered in the past years especially when it comes to money matters. Instead, we shall have been living a comfortable and happy life. Five years from now, aside from support I give to my family, I also see that by this time I have met the girl whom I can spend my whole life with. Moreover, I shall have also saved a certain amount of money, visited many places and have experienced some leisure for myself, let's say, vacations, out-of-town trips, mountaineering, etc. What’s more important is that by this time I see myself believing in the words my loved ones have told me: Through the education that we can acquire, we shall realize that we are not powerless in the future; that our choices will bring us to certain goals. And this is what my degree will provide me. PRAYER Almight God, we praise your Holy Name and...

...Happiness: Gratitude FYSM Gratitude has the ability to make people happier. Throughout my research I have found numerous studies that have conducted experiments and done observations proving this to be true. There are many ways to define gratitude, and just as many ways to exemplify its connection to happiness. Smith Scott, the author of Psychology: Please Pass the Gratitude, said that the best explanation he has heard was by a man named Joseph Krutch who said, “Happiness is itself a kind of gratitude” (Smith, 2007). As mentioned in Time Magazine, “Of course, happiness is not a static state. Even the happiest of people — the cheeriest 10% -- feel blue at times. And even the bluest have their moments of joy” (Wallis, 2005). This being said, there must be a reason as to why people become happy and gratitude is in fact a part of that reason. When people think of gratitude they tend to relate it to everyday things, such as saying thank you so someone who held the door for you, writing a card for your friend’s birthday, or something else along those lines. However, a study done by Lung Hung Chen and Ying Hwa Kee demonstrates a method that is less thought of, if thought of at all by many. They studied gratitude and its correlation with the well-being of athletes. During the study, they used two separate groups which each had a different focus. Group 1 consisted of senior high school athletes and was designed to look at the relationship between dispositional gratitude and well-being...

...firmly", or "the capacity or potential for effective action. No matter how you word it, strength is an excellent character attribute to possess. Every person has their own strengths and weaknesses and it is always a personal choice how they will use them. Today I took a survey that showed me my strengths and I want to speak about them. The two positive strengths that contribute to my personal life , my surrounding, and my learning experience are gratitude and a positive attitude. I have noticed being a grateful person allows you to have interpersonal relationships with people around you. When you care about people, they care about you too. I always had a close relationship with my family; from early childhood I have been taught to be thankful for everything. If you are enjoying every day of your life, as well as thanking the people around you for that, there will always be a flow of positive energy amongst you. Having a positive attitude is a strength of mine that contributes to a happy personal life, and a good work environment. A positive attitude is contagious. How can anybody be mad or upset at a person who is always positive and giving compliments? My personal life is great because there is no negative energy in it. I have recognized these as my top strengths, I will always be mindful of them, and try to utilize them in every moment of my life. My goal for this semester is to use them in service learning project, which is planting trees. During this project I will be...

...Duties and Responsibilities of NCOs The main duty of NCOs is taking care of soldiers. Corporals and Sergeants do this by taking concern for their soldiers well being. Leaders need to know their soldiers enough to train them as individuals and teams which will give them the confidence in any conditions to perform there duties. Individual training is the main duty and responsibility of NCOs. No one in the Army has more todo with soldiers than NCOs. Duties also include giving punishments and rewards as it states in the NCO Creed. When giving punishments and NCO must be fair with all soldiers for example two soldiers do the same thing wrong an NCO can not be strong on one and lenient on the other. This is called favoritism which is most definitely not being fair at all. The same thing applies for rewards two soldiers do the same thing an NCO can not give one of them a higher reward. There are three types of duties specified duties which are those related to jobs and positions, directed duties which are not specified as part of a job position or MOS or other directive, and implied duties which often support specified duties. A good leader executes the boss’s decisions with energy and enthusiasm; looking at their leader, soldiers will believe the leader thinks it’s absolutely the best possible solution. As a leader we must ensure that our soldiers clearly understand their responsibilities as members of the team and as representative of the Army. Responsibility is being accountable...

...Happiness Is life really about the 'money', the 'cash', who has the biggest gold chain or who drives the shiniest or fastest car, who sells the most albums or who has the most respect? Today happiness is viewed in many different ways. Everyone defines happiness according to their personal perpectives. Each individual describes their inner feelings in a way that you can't compare with another.Happiness originally and logically means the inner state of well being or a pleasurable or satisfying experience. It enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. What makes you happy and what makes me happy are different things. Whatever it is that gives you warm fuzzes is determined by you, and only you. This difference is what makes the world interesting. Most of the happiness that we experience comes from the feeling of love. So many people look to their love relationships, especially marriage to give them the happiness that they cannot find on their own. Love is not enough to provide happiness, then there must be many frustrated lovers in the world. The belief that love gurantess happiness is left over from the ideology of romantic love that tells us we will live happily ever after if we can only find the right person with whom to spend our life with. If we realize that love by itself will not bring happiness, then hopefully we will be more tolerant of the imperfections of those we love...

...Outline People are different, but then again how different are people actually? In the following texts we hear about research some journalists have been doing and about their results. The text “The Sandra Bullock Trade” is about a differences and similarities between Wealth and happiness. David Brooks writes that personal success is more important to us than professional success. But it’s not as simple as that, for example he writes that if a country goes from poor to middle-class the country become happier. He compares happiness with money when he writes “..Joining a group that meets even just ones a month produces the same happiness as doubling your income”. He concludes with saying that the professional success only exists on the surface of life and personal success is deeper and more important. In the text “But will it make you happy?” starts out with a lot of facts and information. But one of the differences is that in text 1 he tells us about his research at concludes that personal success will in the end be the best source to happiness. ...The Excerpt from Leadership is an Art by Max DePree was very interesting and i took in a lot. It stated that the first responsibility of a leader is to define reality and the last is the say thank you. And in between those things a leader must become a servant and a debater to his/her followers to please them and stick up for what they believe is right. I never thought of this now until i read that the measure of leadership is no the quality of the head, but the tone of the body. Meaning that a person doesn’t have to know all these extraordinary things or be super smart to have leadership, but one should be strong minded and be able to stick up for their goals and morals. The signs of outstanding leadership is primarily based upon the followers. Do the followers learn anything or are they achieving the required results. He refers to a gospel excerpt stating the a leader is “one who serves”. Many think that jesus was a leader because he served his followers, he put himself before all others, whether they believed in him or not. He basically gave his life for us in order to serve us and give us a better life. Without people there would be no leaders. Leaders must deliver must deliver to their organizations the appropriate services, products, tools, and equipment that people need in order to be accountable. When a leader is apart of an institution they must decide whether or not to leave their assets to the organization or pass on their legacy to another person. They are responsible...
