...Have you ever seen where the first snow flake folly Is it on the country road, on the branch of an old oak tree, on the wheat fields in the plain, or between the peaks of the mountain range? See the snowflakes leaping, dancing like flowers in the whirling wind. The flowers have six angles. Sometimes they are like stars. Sometimes they are only white dots, and they keep on falling gently in silence. Without your knowing it, the fields, houses, trees and the whole earth are enwloped in a thin coat of snow. I love snow, because it is saintly pure. Winter differs from the other seasons in that it is not as warmag spring, neither as hot as summer, nor as sad as autumn. The snowflake has her own grace and inspiration. It seems tender, yet it is amazingly attractive. The snowflakes are flying here and there and everywhere. It seems as if they are little stars in the universe moving along their own orbit. Look! What a spotless silvery world, how great, how magnificent! Away from the crowds of people,I stroll alone in the snow. Standing in the snow, flakes of snow float over my head, kissing me on the cheecks and falling on my eyebrow. Some make their way into my collar and some tall into my mouth. It tastes sweet. Looking at this silver white world, thoughts well up in my mind. I feel as if I had become a part of them ...... Some people say snow may bring you joy and happiness. Others think snow can get rid of the dirt in the world...

...First Snow Day Looking out the window thinking that it was the most wonderful sight I’ve ever saw. It was the day that the entire city of Detroit, MI was covered in so much snow; everything had come to a halt. Low pressure had come in 24 hours before, and less than twenty-four hours and twelve feet of snow later, the entire city was drenched in the snow’s icy hands. There wasn’t anything that you could do because everyone was at the mercy of the snow and I loved it. I wanted to run in my daughters’ room to wake her so that she could see the white blanket that covered everything outside. Just the sight of twelve feet of snow was too much for me to handle, and many abandoned buildings collapsed as a result of it. As I peered out the window of our upstairs apartment building, the bright light reflecting from the snow nearly blinded me. When my vision cleared, and I was able to see, I was in awe at the sight that I was seeing. It seemed like someone had taken a big bag of sparkling sugar and poured it upon the earth. The normal things that would usually have met my eyes in the morning were mere blobs in the snow, indistinguishable among the white blanket that covered the city. As I went downstairs to open the door to have a look further outside, my path outside was blocked by a wall of snow; unmoving and solid. A slight chill crept over my body as the cold air poured into the warm building and I ran back inside of my warm and toasty apartment. I watched as the snow plows moved...

...Wonderful Wintry Snow I woke up to a cozy January morning. I excitedly get up and run to the window. The window feels freezing cold as I look outside and see the white blanket of snow. The small snowflakes are falling from the sky. The snowflakes fall onto the ground building up one after another. I put on my fuzzy warm slippers and run downstairs. Everyone was eating breakfast. My siblings jump up out of their seats like dogs jumping up to get their treats. They seem very thrilled that it’s snowing and that there is no school. I sit them back down and pull up a chair to eat next to them. I make myself a bowl of honey nut cheerios and milk and begin eating next to them. We all finished eating so my two younger sisters and I sit down by the window to watch the snow. We look up at the sky and all we see is the white sky and fluffy snowflakes falling down looking like they were coming right onto us. The snow was rising higher and higher. It was almost two feet high! I started getting ready to go outside in the snow with my eleven and nine year old sisters. I put on my bulky purple snow suit which was a little uncomfortable. Then I put on my clunky snow boots. The boots make my feet feel trapped. I went downstairs and put on my warm coat, gloves, scarf and hat. I headed outside with my sibling. The snow was thin and powdery. It was very fun to walk through it. We started making a sledding track down the steps of the back porch. Since the snow was very light it was easy to make...

...Lake Affect Snow And it’s Effect on Aviation BY: Perlisha Humphrey And Duane Johnson Imagine driving on high way U. S. 2 in the Upper peninsula of Northern Michigan just outside of Marquette, on a sunny winter day as the skies turn dark and ominous clouds build in the distance. Suddenly, a “wall of white” appears several hundred yards ahead and some of the heaviest snow you have ever seen obscures everything in your path. You inch forward through the blizzard until you arrive on the other side – where skies once again turn sunny. Anyone who lives in the Great Lakes region is familiar with this unique type of winter weather. This heavily localized snowfall, known as lake-effect snow, is most common from November to February. The winter weather phenomenon is capable of whiting out large sections of the Great Lakes region, from South Bend, Indiana, to Buffalo, New York. Towns and cities at higher elevations can expect even larger amounts of lake-effect snow. The Recipe for Lake-Effect Storms Lake-effect snow forms in the winter when cold air masses move over warmer lake waters. As the warm lake water heats the bottom layer of air, lake moisture evaporates into the cold air. Since warm air is lighter and less dense than cold air, it rises and begins to cool. The moisture that evaporates into the air condenses and forms clouds, and snow begins falling. This may seem like the recipe for whole world but due to the sheer size of the great lakes and the fact...

...Marketing Plan Discuss the company’s competitors and the strengths and weaknesses of each. Snow Ball World will face several established and notable competitors in St. Bernard Parish. The first, Sugar Shack, located in Meraux, is the most popular in the area. They are a walk up operation that is based on Judge Perez Parkway. Their biggest strength is name recognition. They are the first place everyone mentions when talking about snow balls. They also are very big with social media. They have a Facebook page with hundreds of followers on it. The third strength is the location. Located on Judge Perez Parkway, most of the people heading to the lower part of the parish pass this on the way back home in the evenings during the peak warm hours. As strong as they are, in my opinion, they have several glaring weaknesses. First is the product they use. The flavors they use are not from Southern Show (the premier flavor provider in the area), you can clearly tell in the taste. It is not that what they use tastes bad; it simply is not as good as Southern Snow flavors. Another weakness is that they have no listed hours; it is basically luck/chance to whether or not they are open. This erratic behavior could hurt them when it comes to people wanting service. Our location is a few hundred yards away; if they are closed we will gladly take and keep their customers. Another competitor is Sloan’s Snow Balls; they are located on Paris Road in Chalmette. One strength they have is also location...

...Anyone who has ever lived in New York City knows there’s a lot of snow during the winter months. One winter we had a snow storm. I was lying in the bed with my sisters, warm and toasty. Out the window, I could see the wind blowing the snow across the field. It wasn’t enough snow to close the schools down. I could hear my Mother calling us to get up for school. Mom came into our bedroom and told us to get dress because the schools in New York were not closing today. Mom was getting ready for work. She was a nurse’s aide at a senior citizen facility. Before our Mom left for work, she told us not to cut across the field in front of our apartment building to get to school. “The snow is too deep. Go the long way around. Are you guys listening?” We all said...

...Yes,Yes,Yes! School is canceled because of the snow. That happened last week during my snow week off of school. I did multiple things including staying at home, playing in the snow, and making snow crème. To begin with, I spend most of my snow week staying at home. After waking up around 12-2:00 pm., I would turn on the TV and watch some Netflix. My mother would make me clean my room or do my chores. Also, I would eat some food and sleep for a long time. Staying at my house was one of the best thing I did that week. In addition to staying at home I also went outside playing in the snow. When I went outside in the snow, I tried to build a snowman, but it kept failing so I eventually gave up. Also, I collected some snow to throw at my brother,...

...into “millions of billions of pieces”. These pieces are blown around and end up in people’s eyes and hearts, making them only see the bad and ugly in things and people and making their hearts frozen like a block of ice. Many years later, there is a little girl, Gerda, and a little boy named Kai, who live next door to each other. Their homes have adjoining roofs and they can easily get to each other’s house by simply stepping over the gutters of each building. The houses each have a window box placed on the gutter containing herbs and roses. The children become best friends and sit out there and play. Kai’s grandmother loves to tell the children stories and explains to them of a woman known as the Snow Queen, who is the ruler over the snowflakes. One winter day, Kai sees the Snow Queen out of his frosted window. She motions for him to come with her, but he quickly jumps off the chair he was on because he is frightened. Then during one summer day, while Kai and Gerda were looking at a picture book, one of the shards from the mirror stabs Kai’s heart and eyes. Kai becomes completely different and rude to everybody, including Gerda because of the effects of the Devil’s special mirror. The only thing...

She ordered her huntsman to take Snow White to the forest and kill her. “I want you to bring back her heart,” she ordered. But when the huntsman reached the forest with Snow White, he took pity on her and set her free. He killed a deer and took its heart to the wicked queen and told her that he had killed Snow White. There was nobody there, but she found seven plates on the table and seven tiny beds in the bedroom. She cooked a wonderful meal and cleaned the house and tired, finally slept on one of the tiny beds. ...Snow Blowers and Throwers are machines for removing snow from unwanted areas like roadway, runway, sidewalk, railroad track or driveway. Both snow thrower and snow blower are slightly different from each other, snow thrower uses a single stage to remove the snow and snow blower uses two stages to remove snow. These machines either use electric power, diesel or gasoline as fuel source to throw snow to another location. Snow throwers ranges from the very small size, capable of removing only few inches of light snow to the very large size especially designed for moving 10 foot wide snow up to 6 feet deep. Snow Blowers and Throwers use a high speed impeller to move the snow into machine as well as force it out the discharge chute. Snow thrower with a single high speed impeller is light duty machine whereas heavy duty machines are usually self-propelled. On one hand snow throwers is a helpful machine to move snow to another place without any difficulty but on the other hand because of its complicated design it can lead to cause traumatic finger amputations. Electric Snow Blower requires no gas or oil, it is easy to handle, light weight and Eco-friendly. Electric Snow Thrower is best used for small jobs like removing snow from decks, sidewalks. ...Little Snow-White Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Once upon a time in midwinter, when the snowflakes were falling like feathers from heaven, a queen sat sewing at her window, which had a frame of black ebony wood. As she sewed she looked up at the snow and pricked her finger with her needle. Three drops of blood fell into the snow. The red on the white looked so beautiful that she thought to herself, "If only I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood in this frame." Soon afterward she had a little daughter who was as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as ebony wood, and therefore they called her Little Snow-White. And as soon as the child was born, the queen died. A year later the king took himself another wife. She was a beautiful woman, but she was proud and arrogant, and she could not stand it if anyone might surpass her in beauty. She had a magic mirror. Every morning she stood before it, looked at herself, and said: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, Who in this land is fairest of all? To this the mirror answered: You, my queen, are fairest of all. Then she was satisfied, for she knew that the mirror spoke the truth. Snow-White grew up and became ever more beautiful. When she was seven years old she was as beautiful as the light of day, even more beautiful than the queen herself. One day when the queen asked her mirror: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, Who in this land is fairest of all? It answered: You, my queen, are fair; it is true. But Snow-White...

...I. The snow leopard’s natural habitat is in mountain ranges across 12 Central Asian countries. Some of these countries include Afghanistan, China, India, and Mongolia. Snow leopards are large cats and are classified as Panthera Uncia or Uncia uncia. II. Once snow leopards are pregnant their babies stay in the womb around 100 days and the liter sizes range from 1 to 5 cubs. Snow Leopards first leave the den around 3 months of age, become fully independent around 2 years of age and can reproduce around 3 years of age. Snow leopards usually live between 15 and 20 years. III. The respiratory system of snow leopards relies on the diaphragm to expand and oxygen is rushed in, then contract to push out what is remaining (mainly carbon dioxide). A unique characteristic about the snow leopard is its thick white fur. This fur helps the snow leopard hunt and keeps it warm during harsh winters. IV. It is believed that snow leopards, tigers, jaguars, leopards and lions belong to the Panthera class and all were similar evolving around the same time; however the snow leopards and tigers are may closer related to each other, while leopards, lions, and jaguars are closer to each other. V. Something that is very interesting about the snow leopard is that unlike most big cats, the snow leopard cannot roar. VI. References Matt W. ...The cold chill of mountain air cut my lungs and caused my tiny body to shiver against the bindings that laced my feet into a pair of awkward skis. If they stood on their ends, they were almost my height; the dimensions causing me to flounder across the peak. However, as far as the rest of my family knew, I was an expert. We had gone skiing for the first time up in Breckenridge for the past few days, and I was determined to separate myself as far from the bunny hill as I could. I had mastered the “pizza pie” angle to allow myself to stop and how to create the “S” grooves in the snow required to master my skis and bend them to my will. My aunt and sister waited for me near the ski lift as I twisted my torso towards them and began to shuffle my way across the slick snow....
