During this scene, the audience is first introduced with the song Lisa, a song that would keep on being played all through the rest of the film Rear Window. The development of this song is implied to directly parallel the development of the sentiment amongst Jeff and Lisa and the way that this scene is the first run through the audience hears the song, makes complete sense. I say this as a result of the way that this scene is the primary scene in which we experience sensual contact and feelings amongst Jeff and Lisa for the first time. So far the two had recently been speaking and differing about what was happening in Jeff's neighbor's apartment. Now, the two were touching and kissing.
