Calendaring and Scheduling (calsch)
Calendaring and scheduling were made for organizational use and were limited to person in the same system and boundaries in an organization. The working group was meant to develop standards to make it work across organizations and different boundaries. The work included the development of MIME content types to represent common objects needed for calendaring and group scheduling and access protocols between the persons and the servers. The working group was meant to focus on internet standards for problems facing scheduling and calendaring users today, which were majorly three.
1. A standard content type for capturing calendar event and TO-DO information.
2. A standard PEER-TO-PEER protocol for common scheduling and calendaring transactions.
3. A standard access protocol that helps in the management of calendars, events and To-Dos over the internet. This protocols were called “Calendar Access Protocol”
The working group was meant to develop and stabilize everything within six to nine months because there had been previous work done relating to this working group.

THE NEED FOR THE IEEE 802 STANDARDS IN NETWORKING
The IEE802 standard is a combination of networking standards that covers the physical layer selections of technologies from Ethernet to wireless. IEEE802 is subdivided into 22 parts from the major parts ; Ethernet 802.3 , Wi-Fi 802.11 , Bluetooth/Zigbee 802.15 and 802.16. The IEEE has done notable work in the standards area of networking. I thinking the IEEE puts better understanding to everything concerning networking involving the physical medium on which we move data or how data is placed on the network, how we make sure it remain in its right state and how it flows. IEEE802 shows or helps in the way Ethernet can be used. Ethernet LANs may use coax cable with a bus topology .it may use twisted pair and star topologies or fiber. Which are defined within one of the 802 areas and are known as 10BASE2, 10BASE-F, 10BASE5 and 10BASE-T. IEEE 802 developed local area network standards and metropolitan area network standards. The most widely used standards are the Ethernet family, wireless LAN, bridging and virtual bridged LANs. The IEEE is is just talking basically on two parts of the OSI.see diagram below

MOST IMPOTANT STANDARD ORGANIZATION FOR COMMUICATION TECHNOLOGY
Standards give a layer of development that makes a product work regardless of the manufacturer or maker.
STANDARDS CREATION COMMITTEES
1. ISO known as International Organization for Standardization is an organization dedicated to worldwide agreement on international standards in a variety of fields. They are best known for its OSI Reference Model
2. ITU-T known as International Telecommunications Union –Telecommunication Standard Sector formerly known as CCITT is an international standards organization related to the United Nations that develops standards for organizations. Best known as the ITU-T standards.
a) V-Series known as data transmission over phone lines
b) X-Series known as transmission over Public Digital Network (PDN)
c) ISDN: International services Digital Network known as emerging international digital network.
3. ANSI known as American National Standards Institute is a non-profit organization. This is the U.S. voting representative to both the ISO and the ITU-T. They oversee and accredit the organizations that actually create standards,qualifying them as Standards Developing Organizations or SDOs
4. IEEE known as Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is the largest national professional group involved in the creating or developing of standards for computing, communication, electrical engineering and electronics. Their main claim to mold the networking industry is the IEEE 802 project.
5. EIA known as Electronics Industries Alliance is an association of electronics manufacturers in the United States; a non-profit organization voicing the concerns of the electronics manufacturing. They are best known for publishing electrical wiring and transmission standards.
6. IAB known as Internet Activities Board is a group of researchers who discuss issues related to the internet and set internet policies by decisions and task force. The IAB creates some request for comments (RFC) documents as Internet standards like TCP/IP.
If we were going to determine the most important standard organization for communication technology, it would be hard. Based on my own opinion it is between the ISO and IEEE. IF you look well at both organizations and what they are known for ,you would now have a clear choice. The ISO are known for its OSI model while the IEEE is known for its IEEE 802 project. Therefore, when it comes to communication technology I would pick IEEE because the OSI model talk more about the communication of data from one end or user to the other and vice – versa.

NEED FOR A FEDERAL REGULATING BODY
Having a federal regulating body is an advantage because every group or organizations would follow some set of rule and must meet up to the regulating body’s standard. For example, take the cybersecurity into consideration, the standards for that has to be developed by one body because it is an issue that every part of networking worries about. NIST is not the regulating body but one is needed to follow up with standard development.
