Camp mission and vision: The primary mission of the camp is to prepare rising and current high school cross country runners for successes in the upcoming season by introducing different aspect of physical training, presenting lectures related to important topics of the sport, and finally we will also introduce racing tactics. Secondly are mission is to strive to have a camp that is a fun and safe environment that participants will enjoy and parents will feel safe sending their teenage runners too. Our vision for the future is simple and that is, we want to strive to have the only ACA accredited running camp in the mid-Atlantic region.

Although the camp is mainly designed for high schoolers we will have no problem accommodating rising 8th graders as long as they are up to the challenge. Lastly, since we do accept teams of runners, we have no problem with accommodating their coaches as well and we do encourage this.
Program design: The camp will run two session’s, one during the second week of July and one the following week. We will operate as a residential camp and participants will stay in the dorms at ODU and will be provided three meals a day at the Broderick Dinning Commons. Although we operate as a residential camp we will also have a commuter option and those participants will still be provided three meals a day. The camp itself will start on Sunday running through Friday. During the camp session’s participant will go through training runs in different areas as well as non-running training and lectures. Along with paid counselors, we will also bring on local volunteer running coaches to help facilitate training during the week. However, any staff before they are hired along with the recruitment of volunteers will go through a proper background check as well as testing for drugs before the start of camp. Do the camp based location on ODU there is no need for a medical staff, kitchen staff, or for the staff to be trained in lifeguarding. However, all paid staff and volunteers will be certified in First Aid and CPR. Along with training in First Aid and CPR; the staff will also be trained in heat related injury prevention and response, training on camp operations, how best to work with youth, and are emergency action
