...and final supervisory report. As a result, he finds himself in an ethical dilemma because he is concerned on how to grade the student from his earlier reports or should he take into account the information he has just received from the other students. Apparently, he was not convinced enough by Leo Watson’s thought paper, so he advised him to incorporate more of the findings on ethnic discrimination into his papers and provide more complex perspectives. In other words, Watson was to provide more information from viewing the world through another person’s eyes. As a result, he might have taken the idea far enough to start behaving in the same manner he had described the ethnic minority would, which was prone to violence. On the other hand, Leo Watson as a person might possess the attributes described to Dr. Vaji by the other students as derogatory, harassing, and insulting to other ethnic groups. Seemingly, the nature of this dilemma has been framed by some APA Ethical principles. First, integrity plays a part simply because it demands honesty, accuracy, and truthfulness from psychologists towards the people they work with (Welfel, 2012) (Nagy 2011). On reflection, it automatically becomes Dr. Vaji’s duty to find out the true nature of his student from his own analysis. Secondly, justice frames the nature of this dilemma given that its provision requires psychologists to treat all people with fairness and justice. What is more, all persons deserve equal quality in the...

Clinical supervision Clinical supervision has changed over the years. It started in 1969 with five steps to include preconference, observation, analyzing of data and planning for post conference, post conference with teacher, and critique of the previous four steps (Glickman, Gordon, and Ross-Gordon, 2014). Over the years, twelve principles were added. They are classroom based, purpose for instruction and teacher’s long term development, separate from summative evaluation, understanding of child development, education, and teacher improvement, supervisor needs to have relational and problem solving skills, open-minded, reciprocated trust, collegial affiliation, data-based, gathers data based on the teacher’s lesson to be observed, has reflective conversation with teacher and supervisor, and is recurring ((Glickman, Gordon, and Ross-Gordon, 2014). It involves a teacher receiving feedback from a colleague that observed the teacher but wears many hats like a sounding board to enables the teacher to examine and alters their own professional practice (Pajak, 2003). The Reflection of Two Leadership Styles

...The Reflection of Two Leadership Styles NaKisha Dumas Walden University 02/09/2014 Abstract I will talk about followership and leadership connections with two persons that I work with. These people were chosen based on their leadership skills and abilities. Also, I have mutually admiration for both of them. Lastly, I preferred these two because they inspire me, and have pushed for me to go further in my career. In this paper I will talk about their leadership styles. I will also touch on the leadership characteristics in which makes them successful leaders. The Reflection of Two Leadership Styles In order to be a leader, one must understand the meaning of leadership. My belief is that each person must include their personal description of what a leader must be. I have worked with two forceful leaders for two years. One is a Captain in the United States Army, and a supervisor at the Atlanta Va. The second person is a staff nurse at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. I chose these two because each day they define true leadership skills, and abilities. They are exceedingly valuable leaders whom have the ability to lead in tough situations. My admiration for them speaks volumes. Not only do they lead in rough situations, but they also manage in tough situations. Jason Boltax, (2010) effective leaders possess purpose, courage, and trust in the face of uncertainty.  There are times when management will drop the ball on leadership. However, these...

Vulnerable People in the Workplace

...Vulnerable People in the Workplace Vulnerable People in the Workplace Paper Watson is a Nursing theorist who recognizes nursing as the art of caring and the need to treat each patient holistically (Watson, 2007). Leininger is another Nursing theorist who realized caring is unique and the core of nursing. According to Leininger’s Cultural Care Theory as cited by Maier-Lorentz (2008), on Transcultural Nursing, nurses need to be aware of various cultures and how to use this knowledge in their daily practice (Maier-Lorentz, 2008). Leininger’s Cultural Care Theory addresses the need for cultural competency in health care. Communication with a patient can be affected by a patient’s culture. In addition, nurses need to avoid ethnocentric bias. In an effort to achieve a holistic approach to health care one must have an understanding of cultural factors that may affect proposed health care interventions. Leininger’s Cultural Care Theory can be hardwired with Watson’s Theory of Human Care to help achieve holistic care of the patient (Leininger & McFarland, 2002). In this paper I will discuss the design of a teaching program at my workplace to help raise awareness about vulnerable populations. According to De Chesney and Anderson (2008), issues with vulnerability can apply to population groups or individual people. De Chesney and Anderson (2008) discuss vulnerable populations that are at higher risk for health issues related to socioeconomic status, cultural issues, or environmental...

They would see that I can be able to handle cases on my own and hopefully get promoted to a higher position. The opportunities that I would make for myself improvement to allow me to be more valuable in the workplace would be to sometimes think outside the box and understand my clients with a better and clearer understanding. The opportunities that I look forward to is getting to help kids and hopefully landing a supervisor position with New York City ACS Agency. Volunteering Hours Reflection

...Volunteering Hours Reflection My first volunteering experience was “Into the Street,” it took place on September 23rd. This volunteering event gathered hundreds of UC students to clean up the trash littered on the Cincinnati streets. This event gave me an opportunity to get better acquainted with Cincinnati because I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio. This activity helped me to become more aware of the poverty areas and the great amount of homeless people that fill the streets. This experience was very strategic because we split into groups to make the process faster and easier. My group and I were able to bond, and we used the no one left behind policy in order to ensure that we all stick together and...
