The dangers of the factories did not only affect children workers. Adult workers could be left with life threatening diseases due to the many years working in the hazardous conditions of the factories. In document two it talks about the testimony of Joseph Hebergam to the Sadler Committee. He starts off by saying how he had damaged lungs as well as leg muscles that do not function properly and do not support the weight of his bones. All as a result of the dust, overworking, and an insufficient diet.
