My professor assured me that there is much more to writing than just putting words down on paper. Knowing all of this, I have now learned how to improve on my writing skills, how to write better grammatically correct sentences, incorporate quotes and research and give as well as get criticism. When I came into this semester as a freshman I was very confident in the quality of my writing. However, my self-esteem was soon crushed shortly thereafter. There have been times where I am amazing at them and knock them out like nothing. These are papers are usually short stories or something I can relate to. Then theres times where nothing comes to me and it seems like it takes forever to write them. When writing the papers one of the difficulties came from what I was writing about. In high school papers stressed me out because I knew I was going to have trouble with them. It has destroyed many of people and it has helped many of people at the same time. When the word “addiction” is said it is manly used in a negative way, but it can also be positive as well. So is it or is it not a choice? In the beginning of any addiction it always starts off as choice or “something you want to do”. At this point in our human existence what was once certain and unquestionable has become the most questioned topic. The faithful, believing people have become unsure. The little piece I just read was called Another View of Gettysburg. I was a great little piece that was telling the view of one man named Major General John Gibbon who also was there during that battle. Even with the first two paragraphs he states that "fighting a battle is one thing, and fighting it afterward on paper by the participants is a very different thing."(Gibbon, J. 1891) What I have taken from his work that not everything could be laid out there on paper without giving up something. Continuing this was all about the strategies taking during the time of the many battles that happened there at and around Gettysburg. It focuses on really one man that is General Meade. This piece even though being told from a military man was not too hard to follow, but you might want to familiarize yourself on the units that were there at Gettysburg and also some of the other leaders there. Nothing is stated about consumption so much as to what you buy and in extension from where. For example, you could buy 3 or four different shades of eco-friendly lipstick and be classified as eco-friendly. However, that' not the case. It is more along the lines of quantity. Whether it is eco-friendly or not buying five shades of lipstick over 1 is not being eco-friendly. The goal is to work more on the quantity part, not the brand, or ingredients in it. Not how it was manufactured or from where. How many are you going to purchase? Purchase the bare essentials. A few companies have stated they have gone eco-friendly by only buying what they need and nothing more.
