Bullying Report BY: Sarah Adams Course: BSHS/325 Instructor: Lynn Hall

In this paper we will talk about how bullying can affect human development and we will explain how gender and sexual orientation affects the way of bullying. We will also talk about the affect’s that bullying has on an individual’s self-esteem. We will discuss how family interaction may be affected by someone that is being bullied. After this paper you will have a better understanding as to how people bully and how it may affect individuals and ways that may help individuals that are being bullied stop bullies from continuously attacking them. Bullying is an issue in human development because of the way it affects the person that is being bullied. The bullies take control over the person by attacking someone they feel is weaker than they are and by continuously either verbally or physically abusing this individual. By the bullies doing this it can make a person feel like their life is not worth living and that they are not good enough to here. It makes individuals feel like they did something wrong because they do not know why these people are bullying them. Being bullied can interfere with the human development by making people not socialize, being withdrawn from family, seeking out negative attention. When a person is being bullied they need to find a positive source they can trust and that they are able to talk to in order to get the help that is needed against bullying and having negative affect’s on their human development. Bullying affect’s self-esteem by making people feel like they are not good enough or pretty enough or have enough money. Bullies find what will most affect an individual and then they exploit that weakness and by doing so it can make that individual feel like less of a person or make them feel like they no longer want to live because of all of the bullying. That they have to endure can cause them to have low self-esteem making them targets for other bullies to pick on them. When a person has low self-esteem it is hard for them to see what positive attributes they have and when people continuously tell they are ugly, fat, stupid or that they should die they start to believe it and it makes it hard for them to go to school and face the bullies every day. The differences in how gender influence how people are bullied is that females are more prone to verbal abuse that they get their friends involved to call other girls ugly or fat or ignore them calling them names in front of others and people laughing about it is the most popular way that girls bully. For males they are more physical form of bullying they will continuously hit an individual knocking them down or taking things from them, stuffing them in lockers, etc. these are some forms as to how males bully. As for sexual orientation if an individual has a different sexual orientation they may call them names or hurt them physically because they do not understand why they are like that or think that something is wrong with them for being that way. The way that a family can be affected by bullying is that the individual that is being bullied hurts themselves because, they feel like they had no other choice and that this would be better for everyone if they were gone. Another is that they have to relocate in order to keep their child safe from the bullies. That they are getting help when they go to the schools and report that it just keeps happening. If a child does not feel like they can talk to their parents and starts acting out by skipping school or doing drugs or drinking would have a negative effect on the family interactions. When a child starts acting out and the parents do not know why it may be hard on them to figure out what to do to help their child. In this paper we talked about how bullying affects human development and how it can have a negative impact on the child that is being bullied. We also, talked about the different ways genders bully and how they may bully different sexual orientations, how a family may be affected by bullying whether it be that they hurt themselves or have to move to a safer place. Bullying comes in many forms and sometimes it is hard for kids to go to their parents and tell them what is going on because, they are afraid that telling their parents will only make it worse at school. So making sure that the proper authorities are aware of the situation is key to making sure that the individual does feel safe and the bullies know that it is not ok to keep hurting them. Having friends that will stand up for you will also help to keep bullies away from you in the future.

Dangerous Life

...popular YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, it may not be just a coincidence. I suppose the title could refer to it being dangerous for people that Ferdinand Marcos was alive and in power, or it could refer to fictional newsman Tony O'Neil's (played by Gary Busey) occasionally endangered existence covering dramatic events in the Philippines from the death of Ninoy Aquino to the fall of Marcos and the presidency of Ninoy's widow Corazon. Even if the title seems a little crass, the three-part, nearly six-hour mini-series delivers as a dramatic political story and at the same time as an historical chronicle. Because the title and subject matter conjure memories of YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, A DANGEROUS LIFE invites comparison of the two films. The Weir film had one charismatic, enigmatic character, Billy Kwan. A DANGEROUS LIFE has no particularly fascinating character in a leading role. The main characters are involved in a nominal but dull love triangle. Who cares? In virtually every other regard, A DANGEROUS LIFE is a model for the political chronicle. It tells a piece of history most of us remember and tells in a dramatic and engrossing way a detailed history of the fall of Marcos. And it seems even more immediate for the extensive use of television news videotape. Actually for interest value, the lead parts are eclipsed by that of Imelda Marcos (played by Tessie Tomas). Most people think of her as a sort of international joke, a vain woman who had a huge collection of shoes. Under Robert...

...relations with other countries” The Foreign Service Institute of the Philippines has likewise quoted a dictum ascribed to President Ferdinand E. Marcos that: The foreign policy of a nation is the articulation of its fondest needs and aspiration, and in international affairs, it is its sole weapon for the promotion of national interest. Foreign Policy is a “part of the general program of government. It is furthermore an extension of its domestic policy”. The term “system” when used in the context of an organization, implies an entity composed of a set of parts and created to accomplish certain, objectives. The aim of the system is the coordination of human efforts and material resources to produce desired results in a dynamic organization. Martial Law Article Compilation

...Experience Marcos dictatorship in Thailand By: Joel Ruiz Butuyan IF FILIPINO voters who are motivated with a longing to bring back the Marcos years will have their way in the May elections, all Filipino Facebook users will be in jail. This was my conclusion after a four-day stay in Thailand last week to witness the court trials of two political prisoners, and to meet with journalists and lawyers who are fighting to keep the embers of freedom alive despite the authoritarian rule of a military junta. I was in Thailand as the representative of the Center for International Law (Centerlaw), a nongovernment organization founded by my colleague Harry Roque. Centerlaw represents victims of human rights violations, especially persecuted advocates of freedom of expression. It is working to strengthen the network of free expression advocates in Southeast Asia. For four days, I listened to stories of arbitrary arrest and detention, intimidation, and some instances of torture committed by the very government that is supposed to protect the Thai citizenry against such crimes. It is all too reminiscent of the martial rule of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines. The Thai military junta, euphemistically known as the National Council for Peace and Order, mounted a coup d’état and ousted the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. The junta imposed martial law when it seized power in May 2014, and while the regime officially lifted it in April 2015, Thailand remains under martial...

Recommendation for Tasco

...different branches of office does not bond well together due to weak communication flow. We suggested that TASCO should transfer the employee to another branches of office for a few weeks. The purpose is to let the employee learning from different branches operations as well as getting recognize the employee from different branches. Besides, the employee may explore more to different places culture or working behavior. Aside from transfer the employee for short-term, TASCO may hold some company dinner or trip that gather all the employee together for sharing information between each other or playing some team building game that may improve the relationship. Buy a cargo ship that named TASCO. TASCO does not owned any one of the cargo ship which make themselves suffer from the disruption of sea freight service during Japan tsunami in 2011 because they are using the NYK’s cargo ship from Japan. Sharing the same cargo ship with foreign logistic company is gaining some cost advantage but at the same time it may occurred some problem or delay from the uncertainties event. Thus, we suggested that TASCO should buy, at least a cargo ship for the use to avoid any emergency. As the following suggestion relate to our last suggestion, buying a cargo ships. The least favorite of the five? Increasing border security and enforcement, mainly because it entails more government spending. These five measures would be somewhat incompatible if they were all implemented at once as they all differ in perspective. Above all, the most important result of this poll is it shows the majority of Americans have significant momentum for immigration reform. Calling themselves the “Band of Eight”, a group of eight U.S. Senators – including John McCain (R-Ariz.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), – have taken things into their own hands by creating a bipartisan coalition geared towards coming up with an internal plan to combat the liberal reform plan President Obama proposed last week. Calyx Corolla

...the case study of Calyx & Corolla, a mail order flower company. Calyx & Corolla is a relatively new company that utilizes a different distribution channel than conventional companies for fresh flowers. Calyx & Corolla mails flowers direct from the growers to the customers via Federal Express and eliminates the middleman (Appendix A). This permits Calyx & Corolla to provide fresher, longer-lasting flowers to consumers. The management of Calyx & Corolla is contemplating a change in their long-term business strategy as they examine their ability to compete with more traditional outlets such as retail flower shops and wire services like FTD. Ruth Owades, the founder of Calyx & Corolla, has hired Marketing Consultants (MarCo) to assess the strengths and weaknesses of her business and make recommendations on how her company can fully develop their mail order concept. Background: Calyx & Corolla is a small mail order flower company that was founded in 1988 by Ruth Owades. Ms. Owades secured $2 million in capital from approximately 18 different investors in order to launch the company. By 1991, Calyx & Corolla exceeded $10 million in annual sales and Owades and her associates were reassessing the firm's long-term growth strategy (Wylie and Salmon, 1991). Up to this point, Calyx & Corolla was primarily a mail order company, but management is now considering expanding their market and is unsure of how they should proceed. Recently, a well-financed venture...

...Philippine History Early History -The Negritos are believed to have migrated to the Philippines some 30,000 years ago from Borneo, Sumatra, and Malaya. The Malayans followed in successive waves. These people belonged to a primitive epoch of Malayan culture, which has apparently survived to this day among certain groups such as the Igorots. The Malayan tribes that came later had more highly developed material cultures. In the 14th cent. Arab traders from Malay and Borneo introduced Islam into the southern islands and extended their influence as far north as Luzon. The first Europeans to visit (1521) the Philippines were those in the Spanish expedition around the world led by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. Other Spanish expeditions followed, including one from New Spain (Mexico) under López de Villalobos, who in 1542 named the islands for the infante Philip, later Philip II. Spanish Control - The conquest of the Filipinos by Spain did not begin in earnest until 1564, when another expedition from New Spain, commanded by Miguel López de Legaspi, arrived. Spanish leadership was soon established over many small independent communities that previously had known no central rule. By 1571, when López de Legaspi established the Spanish city of Manila on the site of a Moro town he had conquered the year before, the Spanish foothold in the Philippines was secure, despite the opposition of the Portuguese, who were eager to maintain their monopoly on the trade of East Asia. ...
