Aircraft fuelling can take up to 90 minutes of ground time. Hence, precise planning and allocation is absolutely essential. Once a flight lands in an airport it has to be refueled for the next flight. The quantity of fuel required depends on the distance it has to travel to reach the next station and type of flight. Aviation fuel is a specialized type of petroleum-based fuel used to power aircraft. It is generally of a higher quality than fuels used in less critical applications such as heating or road transport, and often contains additives to reduce the risk of icing or explosion due to high temperatures, amongst other properties. Aviation fuels consist of blends of over a thousand chemicals, primarily Hydrocarbons (paraffins, olefins, naphthenes, and aromatics) as well as additives such as antioxidants and metal deactivators, and impurities. Having a strong sense of time management has given me the ability to balance whatever it is I am confronted with. Whether it be finding time to do school assignments while working full time and also continuing my busy life, or whether it be passing meds, doing dressing changes, placing a foley, and admitting a patient all within a busy hour, time management is essential. Not only does it allow for a less-stressful flow, it also allows me to accomplish my tasks in a timely fashion and feel organized and in-control of what I am doing. I feel having this characteristic as a strong point will help me in this course because not only do I work full-time at night, but I also- like most other students- have a busy life surrounding me as well.
