What Is Your Most Meaningful Accomplishment

My most meaningful accomplishment within the past 4-5 years is realizing that one of my purpose in life is to teach. As a senior in high school and a college student, I was so conflicted about what I really wanted to do. Therefore, realizing that I want to be an educator is an accomplishment because it’s the first time that I’m confident about my career field. This accomplishment is also particularly important because I’ve been able to learn so much about what I’m passionate about during the process. I’ve realized that I’m extremely creative, I have a relatable personality, I enjoy being involved in projects, I like being involved in a community, and most importantly I love being around students of all ages and just being a part of their development.

Measure Your Outcomes

...be prepared to talk about it. What have you accomplished at work and life? Start taking note of it. There is an ancient Indian saying “य: क्रियावान् स पण्डितः” – one who is industrious is the knowledgeable one. It does not matter what qualifications you have, what certifications you have completed. What matters is what you have done with it and can do with it. You may claim 100 things in your resume but what people care to know about are your accomplishments. You are paid to produce results, and what results have you produced in the past is a good indicator of what you can potentially produce. If you cannot show that you can produce results you have no place in the workplace. So, in whatever capacity you are working in begin to measure your results and outcomes, and start documenting your accomplishments. Most people assume that accomplishments need to be large. No. Very rarely do people have significant accomplishments, but there are many milestones (and occasional breakthroughs) that happen in one’s work life. So, ask yourself these simple questions: 1) What have I accomplished (done) in the past 2 years that made a difference in the workplace? Have I received recognition or promotion or appreciations from colleagues, customers, managers or others? 2) Have I done anything outside my job description? 3) Am I replaceable? Why not? What unique value do I bring to the workplace? Why should the company continue to pay me? 4) What are top three areas that I have...

...Year Experience 070 Instructor: Dr. Dumpe 09/08/13 “Dream Story” Picturing myself in the aspect of what I would like to be as an Adult has been diversely ever changing with physical and mental growth. With growth comes personal brand which everyone attains, yet unlike the logic of what I want to be, my brand has had limited or meager change over my life. Despite constant change in thought of future adulthood in the past, I believe I have permanently reached a central objective. Computing my personal brand with my target objective, success is assured to follow, insuring a collection of accomplishments. When I was roughly nine I was commonly asked the question of, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” No matter the situation or circumstances, I answered this question with the response of, “I am going to go to the N.B.A.” I was born with a basketball in my hands and have been playing and watching since diapers. This question was always obvious to me, until about the age of 14, when I eventually concluded my fantasy of going to the N.B.A. was a delusion. Since then, I have perpetually transitioned to a distinctively newer answer to this question. I respond to this inquiry now with the statement, “I intent on managing a considerable snowboard business such as Burton.” As people age into becoming an adult, a personal brand is created that represents you, and for most changes throughout stages of growth. My personal brand took a slight change recently, when enrolling into...

Why I Chose College

...Although I am unaware of the schools I want to apply to, I know I definitely want to go to a bigger university no closer than three hours. My ideal colleges are closer to the south, where it is a lot warmer ( just so you know a general location ) Have you selected a college major? Why are you interested in this field? What profession do you anticipate pursuing? Although I am aware that knowing my major would help a lot in the letter, but unfortunately I have no clue. I think that if I really can not choose something I will fall back on a business major but for now I am undecided. Another Option I have been exploring is psychology and behavioral sciences. This field intrigues me because there is still so much humans do not know about animals and our own mind’s and deviant behaviors. I genuinely know that this is something I would love to do, and providing articles and research to further the facts we know about living beings. The only thing I worry about is there is limited jobs for this major, and once I leave college I want to be able to start my career right away and not have to wait a few months or even years for a job in that field. Success

...SUCCESS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS Success isn’t just about accomplishment. It’s also about how the things we do in our lives motivate & inspire others to do something motivating & inspiring in theirs. It’s about helping people you come in contact with. It’s about making other people’s lives better for having been a part of it. It’s about making a positive difference, no matter how small. Success has a lot more to do with what isn’t immediately visible than it does with trophies, awards, wealth, or material things. Every person is thinking different about being prosperous in life and is defining success in another way, so there can´t exist a definition that is suitable for all. It is somewhat like how we mean success based on our own goal and objective. The bottom line is that we should know exactly how to define success in life. There should be an awareness of what success and accomplishment in general means. I define success as the opposite of failure, the status of having achieved and accomplished a goal or objective. Being successful means the achievement of desired visions and planned goals. To some and is more common success can be a certain social status that describes a prosperous person that could also have gained fame for its favorable outcome. The dictionary describes success as the following: “attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame”. Other people define success as having luxurious cars and a huge mansion, whereas others consider a life full of joy and happiness...

Little did I know, there are actually tons of other options for collegiate gear outside of your school's bookstore. This is a deep-rooted and meaningful school spirit, representing their sense of pride and accomplishment. Leadingnand Managing

...you manage. • Find out what motivates the people who report to you • Hire and keep people who are good at the work • Get people working on what’s important • Explain and train • Let people work • Be generous with praise and recognition • Expect excellence • Care about people and show it • Treat employees with respect • Lead by example Your ability to lead and motivate people is critical to your success as a manager. Your organization and your team count on you to provide leadership -- to navigate your group through change, make tough decisions, and focus efforts productively on the most important tasks. Leadership isn’t about being domineering or tough on people. It’s about having high expectations and helping people meet them. It’s about making tough decisions and having the courage to take risks. It’s about seeking opportunities for change, building enthusiasm for change efforts, and being an agent of change. Motivation is an equally important responsibility of management. It translates directly into productivity and team effectiveness. People working together with energy and enthusiasm are far more effective and productive than a group lacking that spark because of job dissatisfaction or boredom. As a manager, you play a big role in building team motivation. Following are ten keys to leading and motivating the people you manage. 1. Find out what motivates the people who report to you. The best way to find out what motivates people is to ask them. In your one-onone time with the...

Job Enrichment

...Job Enrichment Responsibilities What Does Job Enrichment Really Mean Many people originally categorized job enrichment theory as a “management fad” but time has shown that helping your employees be all that they can be (to paraphrase a famous U.S. Army slogan) is a solid and rewarding objective. Frederick Herzberg, the noted psychologist and business management expert, is considered the originator of the conscious attempt to achieve job enrichment on the part of management toward their employees. He developed this theory of motivation after leaving his studies at the City College of New York to enlist in the Army during World War II. After experiencing the horrors of the Dachau Concentration Camp and interviewing many other German citizens and military personnel, he developed his theories of motivation triggers. In its most basic form, Herzberg believed that people were really motivated by only two factors: satisfaction and dissatisfaction. As a manager dedicated to success, a simple and effective plan is to emphasize the satisfaction and minimize (or eliminate, if possible) the dissatisfaction quotient of your employees. A wonderful and simple definition of job enrichment: Attempt to motivate your employees by giving them the opportunity to maximize their own abilities. How Can I Be More Effective? Just as you would like to be mentored and motivated to view your professional duties and responsibilities as being more enriched, your employees, whether vocal or silent...

...Benchmarks and Goal Setting for the Adult Learner Abstract This paper introduces the adult learner and the purpose of setting meaningful goals when they enter a program of learning. It discusses what motivates an adult learner and how to go about setting SMART goals. The closure section states why adult learners have additional pressures outside of their schooling that influence them. Goal setting and staying on task are very important for the adult learner. Introduction Adult learners come to class with a variety of purposes, needs and goals. Setting meaningful goals helps adult learners learn planning skills and language skills. They see a direction and focus for their studies, which can increase motivation. The goals, necessary skills, and strategies identified by learners can inform the program’s curriculum and the teacher’s instruction. Working with learners as they set goals, overcome barriers to achieving them, see their progress to reaching their goals, and finally achieve them can be a very rewarding part of a teacher’s work in the classroom. The final goal may seem like more then you can handle so splitting that up into smaller more manageable goals will help you obtain you ultimate goal. LaRossa states, “The more specific the steps are, with deadlines, logical sequences, concrete actions, and the clearer the ultimate goal, the greater your chance of reaching it”. Eulogy for Terry Bradshaw

...Oral Communication Eulogy Terry Bradshaw: September 2, 1948-September 2, 2018 Good morning everyone. I would just like to take a few moments to say a few words about my good friend Terry Bradshaw. Firstly, to his daughters Erin and Rachel, you meant the world to him. You two are the biggest accomplishments in his life. And for a man who accomplished it all, that says a great deal. Terry grew up a simple boy turned man, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The second of three sons of Bill and Novis, throughout his life, he was teased for the fact of where he came from. Some called him the “Bayou Bumpkin”. In the words of Terry, “I may be dumb, but I ain’t stupid. Those that knew Terry also knew that He was one of the most inspirational stories in sports and in life in general. Terry didn’t make millions as a NFL quarterback in the 70’s. In fact, he spent the off season as a used car salesman in Pittsburgh. He was smart, the hometown hero everyone wanted to buy a car from. No one had more fun late in life than Terry Bradshaw. Despite his constant headaches and dizziness from a life of getting knocked down, he still managed to get back up and live his life to the fullest. He even overcame clinical depression that he faced through much of his adult life. He once told me it was so bad that he couldn’t even enjoy his super bowls wins. But Terry being Terry, he bounced back, and became a poster child on how to live through and beat depression. I was lucky enough...
