Work, Health, and Safety Policy
Obligations
The management has to be firmly committed when it comes to the policy which will enable all the work activities to be done or carried out in a safe manner. There is the need for an effective health policy where leadership roles such as expertise, persistence, and vision are considered (Wright, 2010). Here, all the possible measures will be taken to remove firmly or in the worst cases reduce the risk that are associated with the health, safety, and the welfare of the workers, authorized visitors, patients, contractors, and anyone who may be affected by the activities and the operations. It should be noted that the process of the implementation of a policy is involved by a few people because most people lack the guidance on its implementation (Hewison, 2007).

Who is the Policy Intended For?
This policy is intended for the workers of a hospital and specifically aimed at any person who has an intention of visiting the hospital. The first aim is to show categorically the commitment of the hospital management and all the workers involved when it comes to the health and safety in the setting. Apart from that the other function is to remove or in other cases significantly reduce the risk associated with risks that are associated with the health of the hospital workers, their safety, and most importantly the welfare of all the workers in the hospital. This system also has to involve the contractors and the visitors, in other instances anyone who may be affected by the operations of the business. With this policy, it will ensure that all the work activities that are done in the hospital are done in a safe manner where safety is given priority.

What are the Customers’ Needs?
The policy comes into effect to fully meet the needs of the customers, the management specifically the supervisors and the managers who will have to be responsible when it comes to the provision and the maintenance of the safety of the working environment of the workers which has a direct impact on the patients and the visitors of the hospital. Through this, the management has to develop a safe system of work. The system has to be simple, efficient and orderly for it to be understood by everyone. Also, the system has to ensure that all the plants of the hospital and the substances are in safe condition.

The policy will have a proper mechanism to protect its plants and also ensure that they are safe from the people who are operating it and safe from causing any harm to other people who are not authorized to operate it. With that in mind, the workers who are operating the plants and machines have to have proper facilities when we put into consideration their welfare. All the operators should have proper knowledge of their operations and their safe use.

The management should also ensure that all the information, including the training, instructions, and supervision is readily available to the workers or employees involved. This in the long-run will ensure that all the workers are safe from the risk of injury and other risks that are associated with their health and well-being. One other aspect that has to be considered is that the management has to be committed when it comes to consulting and in other cases cooperating with the employees in all the matters that involves or relates to the health and safety of the workers in their workplace. Other commitment should come from the aspect of constant improvement of the performance of the workers through a management system that is effective when it comes to safety.

What Processes or Procedures will be needed to Produce Results to Meet Customers’ Needs?
For the workers to have their needs meet, they will have the obligation of complying with work practice by cooperating with the management with the intention of avoiding any injuries to them and other stakeholders that will be involved. Their obligation will have the effect of protecting the equipment from damage. The policy will help the workers take responsible care of their safety and health. It will ensure that they wear protective clothing when dealing with dangerous equipment. Apart from this the policy will help them to avoid any misuse or interference of anything that is provided for the purpose of safety and health.

Who will be Responsible for implementing this Policy?
The management will be in control when it comes to the implementation of this policy. They have the responsibility of ensuring that all the work activities are done in accordance with the policy of health and safety by placing all the necessary measures that will aim to reduce the risk of injuries to the people involved.

Application of the Policy
Through the application of this policy, all the workers, patients, customers, and other stakeholders will need to give the management the necessary cooperation. The policy also seeks to encourage suggestions when it comes to the realization of the safety and health objectives through the creation of a safe environment with the aspects and culture of a zero accident policy. The policy will apply to all the functions and operations which will include all those situations where the workers will be required to work off-site.

...Information booklet: Unit 3 P2 Outline how legislation, policies and procedures relating to health and social Care influence health and Social Care settings Introduction: In this assignment, it is important to outline how legislation, policies and procedures relating to health and social Care influence health and Social Care settings. Definition of legislation: Legislation is a law or set of laws agreed by the government which must be followed and done. Definition of regulation: A principle, rule or law designed to control behavior. Food Safety Act (1990) The Food Safety Act was introduced in 1990 in response to public concern over the safety of food. This Act aims to control safety at all stages of food production. This legislation was also introduced in order to sell and keep food for sale which is unfit for people to eat. For example in a kitchen when staffs are placing foods in fridges and cupboards, they must ensure that the dates of the foods are up to date and checked properly. All food premises must be clean and free from rubbish, all equipment must be clean and good hygiene practices should be observed at all times. Under the Food Safety Act it is illegal to sell food unfit for human consumption. This means people may pass poor quality food off as good food to make money. The food safety Act 1990 influences health and social care settings so that Staffs check dates continuously on stocks to ensure that the foods are in good condition by checking that...

...EXTENT OF ADOPTION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH BY SMALL AND MEDIUM MANUFACTURING COMPANIES. A CASE OF STEEL MANUFACTURING. SUBMITTED BY GERD HAMAUNDU HATULEKE STUDENT NUMBER: 12488416 PROJECT PROPOSAL FOR MY DESSERTATION. ABSTRACT With the now existence of many steel producing, manufacturing and selling agents in the steel industry in Zambia, much worry should be placed in the amount of safety that exists and is being implemented in the industry. This is to the fact that steel workers are exposed to dangerous, hazardous and fatal injuries when working. Despite this worrying situation, international awareness of the magnitude of the problem remains surprisingly modest. The inadequate dissemination of knowledge and information hampers action, especially in developing countries. It also limits the capacity to design and implement effective policies and programmes. The fatality, accident and disease figures are alarming but investment decisions continue to be made in disregard of safety, health and environmental considerations (Ali, 2001). With the owners of these industries mainly concerned with making huge profits, they sideline the arising costs due to poor health and safety practices, hence, awareness on occupational, safety and health is needed.
