...When it comes to my own personal organization techniques for writing, I tend to use different methods to help me get to where I need to be. I most commonly use brainstorming lists or what I call grocery lists, web maps, and freewriting drafts. When I use lists I start off with just a list of items in a random order, then I organize them by subject/topic, and importance. If I use web maps, I branch off the ideas from one central location, continuously building off a section of the map until I can no longer think of anything else. When I free write, I proceed as if I were writing my first draft, inserting ideas and notes as I go on. I find that as I continue on with this class, my writing has become more organized in a sense that I now put more emphasis on pre-writing. I allow myself a chance to dig deeper into my ideas and notes without skipping ahead to free writing. I do not feel as if my writing per se has become different, but more effective. The great thing about this class is that I learned to ask better questions, for better ways to create notes and brainstorming, as well as adding more finesse to my pre-writing stage by using lists, maps and outlines. These techniques allow me to remain focused on my audience, purpose, and content. These techniques have been beneficial in allowing me to create more balanced and effective...

...Tick. Tock. At one moment while writing, you are looking at a blank document on your computer. Two seconds later, you are looking at the tweet you were tag in on your phone. Time is passing by faster than you know it. You realize now, the deadline on submitting your writing is approaching. You panic. You start to write random sentences, hoping that it will all make sense towards the end. Writing is a piece of art, therefore it should not include a deadline for submission. A deadline should not exist. A deadline affects the process of crafting a writing piece by focusing on the time of submission rather than the formation and creation of the writing. Writing should be about expressing feelings or emotions towards a topic that stands out. It...

...The focus of my lesson was to help students better produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. I read to both students, Student A and Student B the book “A Fine, Fine, School”. Afterwards the students and I discussed the importance of organizing a story in an appropriate order, that way it is easier for the attended audience to understand. Later, I would have both students create their own stories. To support my students learning, I opened up the lesson with a discussion. We talked about the organizational traits a story may have and how we as authors can do that. Once I started reading the story “A Fine, Fine School”, I would periodically stop and think out loud about the organizational traits presented in the book. After reading the story, we had another group discussion on what types of strategies the author used to organize the story and the importance of this writing technique. Following our discussion, I had students give a brief descriptions about what they like to do when they are not in spending their time in school. After we brain stormed, I had students create a short story using transitional statements that also helped keep their story organized. We then discussed why using...

...I’ve been in school for almost 15 years of my life, and I’m still using the same learning technique that taught me how to walk and talk. I imitated my parents. I imitated friends. I imitated the television. It is an efficient way to learn, much quicker than the alternative of trial and error. Whether or not all that copying is good for imagination and originality has yet to be determined. Regardless, one thing is clear: to pick up the basics, imitation is key. The writer my imitation piece was based on would have employed imitation at some point in his life; that is, until he moved on to develop his own Gonzo-style of journalism. Hunter S. Thompson’s writing is unique to say the least. He incorporated many literary techniques to aid in conveying...

...production units. An effective supervisor ought to be a trained observer and possess record keeping skills. Also, they should know how the job is done and the time required to accomplish. Observation is simple to use and acquires first-hand information. However, the method can cause bias to some workers and is also time-consuming. Questionnaires method can also be used in the job analysis process. The technique is further categorized in two i.e. open-ended questionnaires or well-structured questionnaires. The former can be utilized by both the supervisors and incumbents while open inquiry requires only the workers to describe the job how they understand it. The technique can reach more workers, but the responses could be incomplete making it difficult to interpret. Interviewing applied in the job analysis process. In this method, the employees and other incumbents are interviewed individually after which the results are aggregated (Algera & Greuter, 2013). Other times a group interview is performed by selecting several incumbents who undergo interview at the same time. The technique works well with for occupations with long cycles. Use of a checklist has been frequently applied to job analysis. A list is filled by either the supervisor or an incumbent. The method is preferred as it is economical and very simple to administer. Technical conference method is preferable in the organization dealing with processing. It involves the collaboration of...

...same subdued, muted colors” (Sasika line 10 &12). From the diction used, subdued and muted gives us insight on the character of the mother, a synonym of this is quite giving the reader the impression that the mother is also quite. Later on in the prose it goes on to say, “All in browns and neutral shades, the color she preferred”(Sasika), this line shows that the mother preferred colors, which reflected the mother’s sense of emotion through the use of the color of the string. The symbolism throughout the prose is portrayed by the different colors the mother uses to loom with which connects to her state of mind/emotion. She uses a technique to disguise her true emotions by hiding them in a plain boring piece of work, “Startling the eye when it was turned over” (Sasika line 18), this could symbolize the fact that the mother would use this technique to show people two different emotions, one which is plain on one side an other which is more happy and bouncy if people paid closer attention to the minute details....
