Let me begin by stating how much I admire Hillary as a student. She consistently gets good grades, and has a positive and enthusiastic attitude during class. It is for these reasons that I was surprised when Hillary did not submit her paper on time, which led to the detention warning. Typically, when a student fails to hand in homework such as a paper by the required due date, the consequence is a detention warning as a first offense. The excuse that the student may give for not having the homework completed is irrelevant because it may or may not be truthful, and the result is simply a warning for the mistake of not having the completed homework available for grading. It would be unfair to the students who completed the paper on time to see Hillary go without a warning of punishment. Otherwise it could potentially lead to more students failing to submit homework assignments by their due dates in the future, and it would be perceived that late submittals are acceptable. Please understand that the detention warning was not a personal attack on Hillary, but simply an enforcement of standard rules within the classroom. The expectation is that the completed paper is to be submitted for grading as soon as possible, and the consequence of detention...

...Donna Shirley Johnston Elementary School Woodstock, GA 55555 November 11, 2010 Robert and Deborah Roebuck 1594 Hendon Road Woodstock, GA 55555 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Roebuck: I want to take this opportunity to express my excitement about working with your daughter this year. We care deeply about each of our students. I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues we cover in class. The main goal of our school’s courses is to improve each students skills. Recently I have become concerned with Hillary's performance at school. Both her classroom attendance and homework over the past 4 weeks have shown a marked decline in the high standard of work she usually produces. The reason for the detention warning was due to the fact that Hillary was off school for 2 days and didn’t have her homework done, thus I wanted to ask if you could shed any light on the possible reasons for this? . However, even making allowances for that, her work was of its usual high standard as soon as she returned school after being absent for 2 days, and it only started to decline about a week ago. I have spoken to Hillary directly and in private about this matter. However, she doesn’t seem to be able to come up with a justifiable reason as to why she’s suddenly slipped back and simply puts it down to the increase the volume of homework and the difficulty of class attendance. While this might be a valid explanation, I believe I have come to know Hillary very well over the...

I had no idea. Also, I wanted to thank you for your support and understanding what have to go through. First, I wanted to let you know that Hilary is an excellent student. She is very respectful and she gets along well with her peers. I noticed that Hilary did not turn in her assignment in thursday. Thank you for letting me know that it was done, I was unaware of that. I will like to inform you that this assignment was very critical for Hilary's grade, because without it she could lose a lot of points off her grade without it being turned in. When I informed Hilary that she will get a warning for detention, she seemed a little upset, maybe because something like this has never happened to her. I thought about this all weekend. I had no intention to frightened Hilary, but I just wanted to let her know the importance of turning in her homework on time. I appreciate that you make sure that Hilary do her homework, she is alway on time with her homework assignments and projects, and this is probably why she was so upset. On monday I will explain to Hilary what is detention, so that she will not be frightened by it. Detention is usually a place for studens that behaves unappropriately, but in Hilary...

...P.O. Box 2903 Industraville, 55555 May 7, 2013 Ms. Angela Camper, CEO Webuwrite Academy 123 Riverview Drive Industraville, 55555 Dear Ms. Camper: We are writing to you in hopes of getting your support and help to produce four online courses for ISU. Brad, Micelle and I are senior students here at ISU. We are contacting you because we need to have online courses developed so that the first year students won’t have to do extra semesters of classes due to the fire that wiped out part of the campus. As you may or may not be aware, ISU suffered an extensive fire that damaged classrooms and residence halls. At the present time, there are no other classrooms available to hold these courses for the students. Since we have researched your company as well as received very positive feedback, we were contacting you to see what the chances would be that we could get Webuwrite to produce four core courses that are needed. The courses in question are * English composition * American history * college algebra * chemistry We would like to have these courses produced using rich media scenarios in flash based interactive pieces. The Bates Foundation heard our plight and they have offered us free laptops for the students to use if online classes can be offered in these subjects. At the present time ISU doesn’t have the staff or facilities to produce the courses. So we are looking to the #1 leader in this field, Webuwrite Academy, to help us in our plight...

...Donna Shirley Middle School Principal Johnston Elementary School Woodstock, GA 55555 June 12, 2011 Robert and Deborah Roebuck 1594 Hendon Road Woodstock, GA 55555 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Roebuck, (Colon) I appreciate your concern for your daughter, Hillary, pertaining to her school performance and recent behaviors. I’d like to arrange an informal meeting with you and your husband, including Hillary's teacher. Once our meeting is over, we could bring Hillary in to let her know the findings of our meeting. In our meeting, I would like to review and discuss some of the concerns I have based from (on) your letter. It seems that Hillary has many responsibilities at home and combined with her schoolwork it might be too much for her to handle. In addition, it would be beneficial to discuss Hillary's behavior in class, her rapport with her teachers and her rapport with her classmates. From your letter, it seems that teaching as a career follows your family background. I would like to see if you have any suggestions or experiences that, you might have so that we could incorporate those ideas with Hillary. I am open to suggestions from you; (comma) I want to see Hillary succeed as a student at Johnston Elementary and her future as a student. (unclear) As for the warning that Hillary received about detention, we have an Uncompleted Homework guideline that both the students and teachers need to follow. When the student reaches three missed assignments, a warning is issued...
