Numerous times we look to the news for the correct information just to find out later on that only some of the information was true. Bias is the tendency or preference towards a particular perspective trying to be explained. The grand old party (GOP) observed bias in CNBC’s handling of candidates questions during the third debate. (Washington Post, 1) As the third debate starts republicans believed that the network’s questioning was both biased and trivial. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas had a forceful and bitter verbal attack with the moderator Carl Quintanilla about whether he is resistant to a bipartisan budget deal which makes him look less appealing...

Select panelists who are well informed about and have specific points of view regarding the issue or topic. A panel discussion that includes three to five panelists is usually most workable. Select a leader or moderator. 3. Indicate to panelists the objectives the panel discussion is designed to promote and allow-time for panel members to prepare for the discussion. In some situations ten or fifteen minutes may be sufficient time for preparation while in other situations, panel members may need to prepare several weeks in advance of the scheduled discussion. 4. Decide upon the format the panel discussion will follow. Various formats are appropriate. The following procedures have been used effectively: a. The leader or moderator introduces the topic and the panelists present their views and opinions regarding the issue or topic for a set amount of time. b. The panelists discuss the issue or topic with each other by asking questions or reacting to the views and opinions of other panel members. A specific amount of time should be established. c. ...Types of Variables, Conceptual and Operational Definition A variable is a concept – noun which stands for variation within a class or objects (Ariola, 2006; Catane, 2000). Variable refers to characteristic [condition or attributes] that has two or more equally exclusive values or properties (Sevilla and Others, 1988 as cited in Ardales, 1992). Ariola (2006) states that variables can be manipulated, selected, controlled and observed by the researcher or experimenter (p. 121). Therefore variables can “vary”; it is a tool in measuring the values and determination of quantity of datum for the conducted research. According to Calmorin et al. (2007) a variable is defined as a quantity susceptible of fluctuation or change in value or in magnitude under different conditions (p. 14). The term variable has the correspondent term variation, which means difference and relationship per se. In mathematics, variables are use for graphing, problem solving, statistical computations, algebraic expression, and various kinds of equations, different functions, relations and measurement to analyze and interpret certain data. It is the same with social research but those attributes apply and take different form, thus they can belong to different levels of measurement ("Variable and attribute," 2011). Variables operated or utilized as a tool of measurement is for throughput which leads to conclusion of the study. Based on Ariola (2006) the variable classified into two such as: The quantitative...

Although personal work experiences will be shared by the intended participants, there is no intent to ask questions of a personal demographic nature such, as home address, age, and current compensation therefore issues of privacy may be of little or no concern as it pertains to this focus group. However, to assure absolute participant privacy, only the investigator, moderator and transcriptionist will have access to data from the focus group sessions. ...intention and human behavior. As cited by Azjen (1991), PBC and self-efficacy constructs are interchangeable. Moreover, evidence shows discriminant validity between desire, intention and self-prediction, and distinction between self-efficacy and perceived control over behavior. There is an issue related to subjective norm which several authors have argued the weakest component of the construct. However, it has been identified in the study of Armitage and Conner (2001) that subjective norm has a strong relationship to intention if properly measured. Furthermore, findings in the study of Armitage and Conner (1999) also support TPB and include self-identity as the predictor. Godin and Kok (1996) review the theory of planned behavior, how it is being applied and evaluate the efficiency of this theory in explaining and predicting health-related behaviors. The results of the study revealed that the theory predicts and explains the intention very well. However, attitude and perceived behavioral control are the significant variables in explaining some variation in the intention. This entails that...

...Customer loyalty and the effect of switching costs as a moderator variable A case in the Turkish mobile phone market Serkan Aydin and Go¨khan O ¨ zer School of Business Administration, Gebze Institute of Technology, Gebze, Turkey, and O ¨ mer Arasil Telecommunications Authority, Ankara, Turkey Abstract Purpose – In the GSM mobile telephony sector, the main condition for protecting the subscriber base is to win customer loyalty, a key necessity for the maintenance of a brand’s life in the long term. To achieve this aim, customer satisfaction and trust must be measured and “switching costs” identified. The latter render subscribers’ preference for rival operators more expensive. In this connection, this paper’s aim is to measure the effects of customer satisfaction and trust on customer loyalty, and the direct and indirect effect of “switching cost” on customer loyalty. Design/methodology/approach – The data set covered 1,662 mobile phone users in Turkey. The data were analyzed by moderated regression analysis to test the hypotheses. Findings – The findings of this study show that the switching cost factor directly affects loyalty, and has a moderator effect on both customer satisfaction and trust. Therefore, it plays a crucial role in winning customer loyalty. In short, it is a quasi moderator. However, switching costs was measured as a unidimensional factor, but switching costs in fact contains psychological, financial and procedural sub-dimensions. Therefore...
