Through careful examination, these distinct modernist compositional techniques will be clearly illustrated. Introduction Martin Ellerby was born in England in 1957. He studied composition with Joseph Horovitz at the Royal College of Music and later privately with Wilfred Josephs. He has written in most forms of music including 5 symphonies, 12 concertos, and a large-scale Requiem for choir and orchestra. Paris Sketches: Homages for Wind Band was commissioned by a consortium of schools put together by Richard Jones for the 1994 Huddersfield Conference.
