In the western world the media portrays women who are going through childbirth as this treacherous and “most painful” thing that’s ever happened to them, but is that really how it is? Two scientists wanted to put the question “how painful is childbirth really” to the test. They looked cross culturally, different education levels, age and if it is the woman’s first child or not. The participants were taken from those who gave birth in the major cities of Israel. The participants of this study were put into different subcategories. There were a total of 83 women, 30 of which were born in either the United States, or Europe. 53 of the participants were born somewhere in the Middle East for example Asia, or North America.
