I want to go to college to grow as a person. I will learn to be independent, explore new activities and become more knowledgeable overall. It is the perfect time to decide what your true passions are in life and determine the person you want to be.

My decision to go to college was influenced by my experiences in school. Since I was a child, I always had the idea implanted in my head that I would attend college. Once I entered high school, I began researching how difficult college actually was. There are so many stories about people who succeeded in college and seemed to have no struggles. There are also many stories about people who figured out that college was not right for them. It started to worry me whether or not I could do well.

Why Go To College

...People often scoff at the idea that going to college will make you more money in the long run. But according to Robert Feldman “on average college graduates earn around 75 percent more than high school graduates over their working lifetimes.” That could mean up to a million dollars more than someone with only a high school degree. Although the money is a perk, “almost three-quarters of first year students say they want to learn about things that interest them.” Robert Feldman said when he took poll in 2014 about why people say they attend college. I love to say, “Education is like an onion.” You will have to get through one to be able to get to the other. There are many layers of education and each has their own benefit, consider these other reasons. One benefit of college is the ability to adapt. Adapt to new learning, new experiences and new people. They are always sporadically adding and changing the meaning of words and college helps keep you up to date. You meet a bunch of new people when you attend any new school. Meeting new people will help you learn about the world. “Education improves your ability to understand the world – to understand the world as it is now, and to prepare yourself to understand it as it will be” Robert Feldman quoted in his article “Why Go To College.”...

Why Not Go To College

...Time waits for no one, and college is charging at me faster than I anticipated. Now, if I do not plan for the future, I may not be prepared to go to my college. A school known for its diversity of class programs, Texas Tech University, home of the Red Raiders, shall grant me the opportunity to obtain my future career. The struggle is hard enough looking for my career, but the requirements to enter are quite hefty too. Not only is there a $75 fee waiver just to register there is also the required grade on two tests (TTU). One is the ACT the other is the SAT and from both of these there is a required grade needed to be made based on class rank. The extraordinary part is that from this point on the requirements, ease down and consists of simple things like official transcripts and a higher GPA than a 3.00 (TTU)....

Should College Students Go To College

...encouraged to by others to go to college after graduating. Majority of parents claim that they want their child (or children) to go to college, yet most are unsure of if the debt of college is worth it for their child/children’s education. Ever since inflation occured between the previous generation and this current one, many students who want to go to college are intimidated by the overall cost. These obstacles can even make students to consider not going to college at all, where they could possibly get a job at a torn down liquor store that barely pays above minimum wage. Students should go to college to get more job opportunities, and to eventually raise overall economy. Some people may argue that non-graduates are capable of getting a job without wasting their time on college. My Reasons to Go to College

...My Reasons to go to College By XXX Prof. XXX XXX XXX It is very understandable that most parents dream sending their children to college so that they are well prepared for the competitive job market. In my personal case, I have had several obstacles in life that prevented me from finishing college when I was younger, single and childless. The reasons why I have decided to go back to college and get a degree is directly related with my personal and professional life. As a husband and father of two, I realized that a good way to teach my kids what is important in life, what is good and bad, what one should do in a difficult situation and how to be a good example to my family is to go to college and get a degree. I always heard from my parents that we shouldn’t force our kids to go to college just because we believe that is the way to go. I personally believe that if I want to persuade my kids in the future to get an education, then I think I should set myself as an example for them. I know that by getting a college education is no guarantee of success but at least you will become smarter than what you were before you went to college. Furthermore, as a professional accountant with more than 10 years of experience in my field, I realize that going to college is the only way to continue improving my skills, growing within my company and thus get a promotion that will open even more the path to success. And, once I finish my accounting degree, I...

Is College A Place To Go For Ideas?

...Have you ever really thought about how the smartphone was invented? First from flip phones, then to QWERTY phones, and then to smartphones. Perhaps the invention of smartphones was inspired by the quote from Helen Keller, a blind woman that travelled the world helping people (Nielsen 2007), who said, “College isn’t the place to go for ideas.” I agree with Keller, and I believe she meant that college is a place to go so you can gather new information and to learn how to see things in a new perspective. College does not give anybody new ideas; that is left up to the individual. People who went to college gathered information then used creativity to invent the smartphone. Today, I want to tell you about Howard Florey and Julius Petri. These two men went to college and then used the information they learned to come up with ideas. These ideas would soon turn into inventions that would later change the world. So allow me to introduce the first famous scientist Julius Petri....

Why Go To Middle College

...I want to go to Middle College because: I seek an environment of learners who enjoy learning. At Livermore High School, there is much emphasis on grades, such that it has taken the joy out of learning in most people. At Middle College, being able to choose your classes and arrange your schedules would help people rekindle their passion for learning. Since a class often does not meet every single day, there is more emphasis on learning rather than achieving a certain grade. Only when my environment agrees with me and is more focused on learning and the joy of acquiring knowledge, can I do well. I seek to be with people who are confident in their abilities. I’m tired of people saying “I think,” rather than “I know.” I mean, it is because of this fine distinction that I myself have adopted “I think” to avoid mistaking myself for the person who would be utilized by others, as a tool, for academic help. I am done being in an environment that does not allow me to be confident without making me seem like a tool that can be used....

The choice is solely based upon the student’s determination and dedication to succeed at receiving their degree. Nowadays, colleges are made up of students of all ages and back grounds that have chosen the right time to obtain their college degree. As a student who attends school later in life it may not have that discipline and find it hard to stay focused and the information that you may have obtained earlier in life may be forgotten. The amount of information you are taught can be harder to retain when you take the time off opposed to an individual who has continued their education with no time off. I always had that determination to receive a higher education then just high school and attain a job that would exceed what my family members had. Growing up my father and everyone I saw around me would work in the fields which is a honest job, but I never wanted to go there to wake up to cold mornings at 5am, to work in the middle of the hot sun at 12pm, and go home at 5pm and receive a check that would still put you in a poverty level of income. Why Is It Important To Go Back To College

...When you go off to college, you leave behind some important people in your life. I moved four hours away from my hometown and left my family and my friends behind. Sure, there were some tears shed, and I always said I’d come home to visit and make time for everyone, but turns out, not everyone wanted to make time for me. She and I became friends when we were sixteen. We hit it off immediately when she started working at the same grocery store as me. She had a car, so we’d always go out to dinner or drive around town looking for an adventure. We went to concerts together all the time. We’d drive hours to meet our favorite celebrities and watch them perform. We took each other to get tattoos and piercings. We did everything together. Then I left for college. Even if you don’t realize it, you’re so much busier in college. You can’t just drop everything and go to a concert or go to the movies, or go get a new tattoo. You’ve either got studying to do or you’re just too poor because you can’t work as much. If you have friends who aren’t in college, they don’t understand as much. Yeah, they’re probably busy working and doing their own thing, but they can’t truly understand because they’re not in your shoes. I tried my best to keep in touch with my friend for a while. Sure, there were times we’d go for a while without talking. At one point,...
