Someday, most people will come to realize that leaders are not super humans or, in most cases any different from the rest of us, in most ways. However, when one ascends to a position of leadership, he must choose whether he truly wishes to act as, and become a real leader. This process often begins with an attitude, and whether one opts to be either a possibility or impossibility thinker. When it comes to effective leaders, this can do versus can't do attitude and mind set, usually begins with whether or not someone is able to even see and visualize the possibilities. If one can't believe, in his mind's eye, that something is possible, how could he possibly proactively proceed? Deepak Chopra puts it this way, "You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible." …show more content…
Henry Ford is often credited with saying, "You can think you can, or think you can't. Ether way you'll be correct." What makes one individual persist and persevere, while another believes that since something is impossible, why bother continuing one's efforts. While there are certainly times when it makes sense to change courses and abandon a specific strategy or activity, in the vast majority of cases, it makes far more sense to observe what worked and what did not, and maintain the strengths while reversing the weaknesses. Sometimes, finding the possibilities takes a considerable amount of effort, research, study and persistence.
