After this summer session I have learned the sessions became easier. The principles and management are tie into my daily life. For instance, while communicating with other as a leader and a manager, some kind of engagement need to take place. A leader and a manager both have to lead in ways that allow for and encourage a person's best, most creative self. Managing is about performing, which takes practice, energy, and concentration. This class has taught me that the basics are : Believe yourself and. know your audience and engage them so they are invested in what you have to say.

Another topic that really intrigued me is the topic of planning. I have realized that in order for me to be successful in life I really need to plan through short term and long term planning. After the completion of that chapter I went home and started to write down my short term goals for which graduation came up on top of my list Now it was more difficult on making a decision my long term goal I am not sure if I should go to graduate school or I should work then go to graduate school after gaining some work experience. The fact that I have put a thought to this I think I am on the right track because I did not think about it before taking the management course

Active Listening was really emphized in the topic of communication. One piece of advise that I will start giving people is to talk less and start listening more. I believe you can learn more from others by just listening. There is a reason for the why the word listen is spelled listen. If you juggle the letters around you get silent. That is exactly what you need to do while others are talking to you remain silent and not interrupt them because that is the only way you will know what they have to say and not assume or anticipate on what they are going to say.
