When trying to get employees to work faster, motivation becomes a great factor. In this case, the motivation to move faster and load the pieces of metal into the train will be monetary reward. This recompensation will ultimately cut down the loading time of six weeks to two weeks, which is what the company wants. I will start by sharing and stating the goal of the company with the students. Subsequently, I partner up the students and create three teams. Since each piece of metal weighs 92 lbs, each student will be carrying 41 lbs, which is not too strenuous. All three teams will be competing for all ten days. The team loads the total largest amount of metal pieces at the end of the two weeks, will win $100 for each team member. Additionally, if the team loads the largest amount for three consecutive days, a $15 dollar gift card will be awarded to each member. The chance to win 100 dollars extra in addition to the check, plus the chance to also get some gift cards will greatly motivate these college students who have a thirst for money. Furthermore, I will also develop a more direct relationship with the students by always checking on them constantly and see if they have any trouble or need anything. I will also try to help them when I'm available and give each student a small extra break. The students will be allowed to bring in drinks and small snacks to their workstation to help fight fatigue.
