Kobe Bryant Research Paper

...Bryant and LeBron James are arguably two of the greatest basketball players the world has ever seen. Even if one does not watch or keep up with the game of basketball, they probably know who these two men are. Although these two players are debatably the best in the game of basketball today, who is the better of the two? Some people say LeBron while others say Kobe. I say let us look at the facts and then decide. Kobe Bean Bryant was born on August 23rd, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kobe is the son of former NBA player Joe Bryant. In 1984, Joe Bryant ended his NBA career and moved his family to Italy where he began his new career in the Italian League. Growing up in Italy, Kobe began playing basketball and soccer. ...Academic Reading 22 September 2015 Journal Entry #1 Lebron James: Why he can't be Compared to Micheal Jordan To begin with, I chose this article because I love sports and the Lebron James-Micheal Jordan debate is on that's been going on for years. People that are huge sports fanatics and love the game of basketball can argue about this topic for hours and would not be able to come to a conclusion. One thing is for sure though. Lebron James is still active in the NBA and his career has not ended so we really don't know who's better until he retires. In sports it is natural to let our minds wonder, “ who was the greatest?” and “ will so- and - so surpass so-and-so? This entire Lebron James could be the Greatest of All Time “argument” is growing tiresome. First he's still completing his body of work. Secondly he's only won two NBA championships, the traditional measuring stick of all the NBA’s greatest players, and lastly they are two completely different players. Jordan is Jordan and Lebron is Lebron. I completely agree with this article. Maybe if Lebron James played before Michael Jordan this would be a different story, but the fact of the matter is he didn't. Lebron James is 30 years old and still has many years in the National Basketball Association. Hes going to definitely keep putting up big numbers. Hes going to make his case stronger and this debate stronger. But for now you just can't compare Lebron James to Michael Jordan. It's not fair to him. Secondly he only...

Jordan vs Lebron

...Jordan vs. King James Basketball may be the greatest game there is.  Michael Jordan and Lebron James may be the greatest basketball players that ever played the game.  Both Lebron and Michael wore the number 23, they both were endorsed by Nike and they both helped build a franchise. But one player destroyed the team that he helped build.  While Michael Jordan and LeBron James are considered icons of the game of basketball, only Jordan demonstrates true talent on how the game is played. Michael Jordan has earned the nickname Air Jordan because of his leaping ability and awesome slam dunks that he made throughout his career and in the all-star game. Michael Jordan attended the University of North Carolina where he played basketball for the Tar Heels during his four years of college Jordan was able to win one NCAA National Championship in 1982. In 1984, during his senior year Jordan won the Naismith College Player of the Year. Which helped him set up for a great future in the NBA, in the draft that year Jordan was past up by two teams and was finally drafted third overall by the Chicago bulls. During his career span with the Bulls Jordan was able the help win six NBA Championships. The NBA Championship is the highest award a team can earn in the NBA it’s like the Super Bowl of the NFL. Jordan is also the only player in history to win all six NBA finals MVP that he has played in. Another fact about Jordan is he is the only player in any sport to play in the All-Star Game every...

Who Is the Greatest Basketball Player of All Time?

...Who Is the Greatest Basketball Player Of All Time? Michael Jordan vs. Lebron James; Air Jordan vs. King James; The Chosen One vs. His Airness. Who is the greatest basketball player of all time? Both are huge figures in not only within the game of basketball, but in the entire world of sports. Jordan has always been coveted as the best basketball player but the comparisons between him and James have escalated in recent years due to James’ dominance in all facets of the game, his first NBA championship title, and his three MVPs in his first 9 years in the NBA. However, I believe that Michael Jordan beats out LeBron James for the title of greatest basketball player of all-time because of his complete dominance of the game, and six NBA Championships. Dominance of the Game Michael Jordan’s dominated the game of basketball with his outstanding jump shot, great handles, hard work mentality, and his will to win. He dominated in every aspect of the game. He could shoot from anywhere on the court, his pull up jump shot was impossible to stop when he was rhythm. An example of this would be where in one game he scored an eye-popping 69 points with a field goal percentage of 62.2%. He handled the ball like a true point guard, dishing out assists whenever the opportunity arose. His 5.3 assists are an example of his excellent handles and ability to get the ball to his teammates. Jordan’s career stats and awards are matched by very few other players. Some say that LeBron James is the greatest player. LeBron has not shown a career performance that comes anywhere close to what Jordan has accomplished. LeBron career points per game is 27.5, while Jordan averaged 30.1 points per game (Top 10 Players in NBA History). While this may not seem that much of a difference, Jordan puts the icing on the cake with all of his career accomplishments. Jordan has 3 times as many NBA championships than LeBron. Argumentative Essay On Lebron James: The Greatest Basketball Player

...Why I’m not a fan of Lebron the player but I’m a huge fan of Lebron James as a man. I’ll probably go to my grave defending MJ as the greatest basketball player to ever lace them up but I’m not necessarily a fan of MJ the man. Granted, I respect MJ as a man but I believe that Jordan only thought of himself outside of basketball. Hence the reason, I believe Scottie doesn’t have a problem saying that LBJ is better than MJ. Lebron James since entering the league has been nothing short of great in regards to the way he’s handles himself on and off the court. He’s not been caught up in any extra martial affairs nor has he been caught up in off the court madness. Coming into the league at eighteen and being able to keep his nose clean is nothing...

Lebron vs Jordan

...Lebron vs. Jordan As long as there is sports talk radio and avoidable TV programs like “Sports Nation,” there will be a debate on who is the greatest basketball player who ever lived. LeBron James now has two NBA titles over the first 10 years of his career, with four NBA Finals appearances over that span. Jordan won three championships in as many Finals appearances over that same span. A decade is a nice point to look back and compare to give the audience a nice break from the season previews and preseason hype. Right off the bat, there’s some really bad news for people looking for a definitive answer on which player is better. It’s really, really, really close. Lebron started his career right out of high school, so there was an inherent learning curve right out of the gate. The Cleveland Cavaliers missed the playoffs in James’ first two pro seasons. He also didn’t have much talent around him at the time. The Cavs went 35-47 in his rookie season with Carlos Boozer and Ricky Davis playing major roles along with Drew Gooden and Jeff McInnis. James’ 2004-2005 seasons, Cleveland managed to go 42-40. James finally reached the playoffs in his third season after the team added a new coach in Mike Brown and complementary players Larry Hughes, Flip Murray and Donyell Marshall. Jordan entered the NBA after his junior season at North Carolina. The Bulls made the playoffs in his rookie season at age 21 despite a 38-44 record and Orlando Woolridge and Quintin Dailey being the team’s second...

His father (Anthony McClelland) didn’t want to father Lebron and left Gloria to raise LeBron on her own. Life wasn’t easy, Gloria had many personal problems, most were brought on her when her mother died when LeBron was an infant. Sometimes she made the choice of dating, like when she dated Eddie Jackson. Eddie was constantly running from the law and when LeBron was 6 in 1990 he was finally sent to jail for cocaine. But even then LeBron was getting used to a man around the home, along with Gloria. So her brothers Terry and Curt were also around quite often.
