...Terrorism of Ultimate Torture In every war against terrorism, information is a key weapon. But does that mean that torture can be used as an acceptable technique to extract information? According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, torture is considered as the ultimate violation of human being's individual rights and is the only crime that every state must punish. The Abu Ghraib torture and prison abuse case suffers the utmost unbearable torture implemented by the U.S military army on the innocent prisoners. The case also demonstrates the impact of the unfair use of power over the prisoners as the military uses restricted techniques of torture to humiliate the prisoners and gather information. In the summer of 2003, the Abu Ghraib case came to public attention shortly after the U.S military army committed human rights violations against the prisoners held in the Abu Ghraib Prison. They used unethical methods of physically and mentally torturing the prisoners as part of their interrogation techniques. Some of the harsher interrogation techniques forced upon the prisoners were engaging in sexual and homosexual behaviours and using opaque bags to cover their faces. The increasing pressure forced upon the U.S military army to determine the cause of the mortar attacks on the U.S eventually, led to many military personnel applying harsher interrogation techniques to procure more information from the prisoners. To protect the Americans from terrorism, the U.S started to control...

...The Milgram Experiment was one of the most influential experiments in social psychology. It was conducted by Stanley Milgram and was published in the 1960s. These laboratory experiments offer a powerful and disturbing look into the power of authority and obedience. Milgram was interested in researching how far people would go in obeying orders if it involved performing dangerous and even deadly action against another person and that violate their own personal beliefs and values. Simply put, Stanley Milgram was interested in how easily ordinary people could be influenced into committing atrocities for example, Germans in WWII (Taylor, Peplau & Sears, 2006). Milgram selected participants for his experiment by advertising, through the newspaper, for male participants to take part in a psychology study of learning at Yale University. The procedure was that the volunteer was paired with another person and they drew straws to find out who would be the “learner” and who would be the “teacher.” The draw was fixed so that the participant was always the teacher, and the learner was one of Milgram’s associates (pretending to be a real participant). While in another room, the "teacher" would deliver a shock, ranging from 15 to 450 volts, to the “learner" every time an incorrect answer was produced. While the participant believed that he was delivering real shocks to the learner, the associate was simply pretending to be shocked. As the level of shock increases, the learner’s reactions...

...as stated on the itself on the box it is a good source of fiber but the sugar is the problem. Within a single serving of raisin bran it can contain almost 20 grams of sugar depending on the type, like I stated before is it almost 5 teaspoons of sugar. The American Heart Association states that men and women should only intake around 8 grams of sugar perday. Like everyone knows sugar leads to you gaining weight, which is something that this brand of cereal is supposed not to do. That can take a toll on a person and lead to many dangerous health problems if their not careful. Also to add on that I haven’t even discussed the salt count. One serving of Raisin Bran contains 228 milligrams of salt, thats 15% of an average persons regular 1,500 miligram intake. Consuming too much salt can cause your blood pressure to increase, and cause high blood pressure which raises your risk of stroke and heart attack. So it is best to be frugal with your intake of Raisin Bran because just cause it says its healthy doesn’t mean it is actually good for you. Those are the facts that I have come across, now I am not making Kellog’s out as a bad guy I just want to imform you the reader about the food that you consume. In recent years they have taken measures to make the cereal they produce more healthier by cutting back on the unhealthy ingredients that went into the cereals. ...

...SAL INSTITUTE OFMANAGEMENT Product Life Cycle Of Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk Submitted To: Prepared By: Prof. Ritika Jain Neel Shah (128070592068) Introduction of Cadbury Cadbury is a British multinational confectionery company owned by Mondelēz International. It is the second largest confectionery brand in the world after Wrigley's. Cadbury was established in Birmingham in 1824, by John Cadbury who sold tea, coffee and drinking chocolate. Cadbury developed the business with his brother Benjamin, followed by his sons Richard and George. George developed the Bourneville estate, a model village designed to give the company's workers improved living conditions. Cadbury is best known for its confectionery products including the Dairy Milk chocolate, the Creme Egg, and the Roses selection box. Dairy Milk chocolate in particular, introduced in 1905, used a higher proportion of milk within the recipe compared with rival products. By 1914, the chocolate was the company's best-selling product. Creme Eggs are made available for sale in the United Kingdom (now available all year) from January of each year until Easter, and are the best-selling confectionary product in the country during the period. The company was known as Cadbury Schweppes plc from 1969 until its demerger in 2008, when its global confectionery business...

...to “learners” when they made a mistake on the quiz. 62 percent of the participants ignored the shouting from the “learners” and flipped the electrical switches to the highest level. Miligram's papers raised questions about a humans capacity for evil. The experiment showed that any of us were capable of causing harm to another on command, without regard for the pain caused. An Australian journalist and psychologist, Gina Perry, began writing a book to try give a respectful view of Dr. Milgram; however, after conducting research, she became appalled at the way the subjects were treated and the sloppiness of the research. Milgram’s research concluded that sixty-five percent of subjects kept turing up the electricity to the highest voltage. Miligram filmed several subjects over the last few days of the experiments for a documentary, “Obedience.” Miligram’s fame did not help his academic career. Harvard chose not to give him tenure and denied follow-up funding for his work. He taught at the Curt University of New York up until his death in 1984. Sexy percent of the subjects disobeyed the experiments before reaching the maximum setting in more than half the experiments. When the subject would demand that the...

...Malicious ideologies have enabled groups of people to inflict inhumane violence on other members of society through compliance to authority. Such historical events of massive genocides include the Holocaust; where Nazi soldiers killed six million innocent Jewish people based on their political and ethical reasoning. Troubled by situations of this nature, Stanley Milgram held a collection of experiments that his book “Obedience to Authority” outlines. Milgram tells us that “the aim of the study was to find when and how people defy authority in the face of clear moral imperatives” ( 4). Milgram found that there are social forces which allow populations to commit morally conflicting acts against other populations. The fundamental variable for this influence is ideology; which is defined in Webster’s dictionary as “a systematic body of concepts, especially about human life or culture”(“ideology”). Ideologies accompanied by social contagions, admit ordinary individuals to transgress in inhumane conformed evils. The obedient subjects of Milgram’s studies and the Nazi soldiers alike are not all necessarily sadistic psychopaths. Rather, they’re a result of ideological social conformity. It has been a commonly accepted idea that those who participated in the holocaust were all individually psychopaths, but conformity to a corrupt authority’s dogma influences ordinary people to behave malevolently. Between 1941- 1945, fifty-five thousand Nazi soldiers worked at death and work camps...

...machining. Injection moulding not necessarily rely on one material, there’s variety of materials for example polymer and metals that can be used to produce parts. In this paper, the scope focuses plastic injection moulding by using polymer. Polymer [2] is adapted from Greek as ‘many part’, which describes molecule composed of many identical parts that synthesized together to from a large macromolecules. Generally plastic injection moulding uses thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers. The plastic parts that can be formed by injection moulding range from small electronic components such as lid of air-cavity package, to body panels of cars. Due to the capability of plastic injection moulding to generate big varieties of parts from as small as miligrams to kilograms, thus, a measure of size named shot size is selected which is determined by the weight of resin that can be injected per cycle. Shot size range between 20grams to 20kilograms. Figure 1: Injection moulding machine (Source: Modified from Wikipedia [1]) Basic plastic injection moulding...
