...Favorite Brand Michelle Gale MKT/421 June 2, 2014 Glenna Twing Every person has a favorite something; this could be shoes, stores, or food to name a few. This paper will detail one of my favorites, Skecher’s Shoes. There are many competitors that offer similar products, and the paper will show a few of them. Details as to why they are my choice will also be included. We will also look at how this company provides customer service to promote customer loyalty to a variety of age groups. My intent is to get others to try these shoes if they have not. Favorite Brand and Why Shoes are important to most people. Many have a favorite brand at they like to wear. I choose Skecher’s Memory Foam as my favorite brand. Skecher’s Memory Foam are my favorite for a few reasons the biggest reason is they are comfortable. With my current job I am on my feet a lot, and comfortable shoes are necessary. To have a pair of shoes that do not provide comfort could make my feet hurt after a period of wearing them. I have also found that an uncomfortable pair of shoes causes other problems such as an ache in my back. Having this happen has and would make the day worse. Pricing is another reason that these shoes are my favorite. The pair that I most currently purchased was $64.99; this is not a bad price. Considering that I wear these shoes at least five days a week, and at least eight hours a day,...

Daniel CJS/205 November 24, 2015 Heather Bushman Arambarri When interviewing the small child, I realized it was harder to get a lot of information regarding his favorite childhood memory. The child I interview what name Mikey. He is a seven-year-old male who is in the second grade. When asked what his favorite childhood memory was he replied, I don’t know, so I told him to think about it for a little bit, and then I will come back and ask some questions about it. When I went back to question about fifteen mins later, he then said, “I would have to say my favorite time ever was when me, my mom, my sister, my brother and my stepdad all went out to Chucky Cheese.” I then proceeded with asking him, “when he had gone to Chuckey Cheeses?” and he replied, “a long time ago.” I then proceeded to ask him where Chucky cheese is, and he said, “up by the mall.” After his response, I asked what mall he was referring to, and his reply was, “I do not know.” I then asked him “why it was his favorite memory,” and he said, “because playing all the games and getting tickets was fun.” I then concluded my interview with the question, “how do you play the games and get tickets?” His reply was, “Duh, you have to pay for tokens and earn tickets by playing the games and win prizes from the tickets.” When I was all finished with the questioning, he proceeded on his way back to a game he was playing. As you can see most of...

...Strawberry Shortcake: My favorite dessert What better way to conjure up the simplicity of youth than by memories of my favorite dessert-- strawberry shortcake. The first thought that comes to mind when I think of my favorite dessert is, my grandmother Essie Tolen many of happiest childhood memories come from the kitchen. When I became sad or depressed due to the abandonment of my mother. My grandma knew exactly what dessert to bake to put a smile on my face and comfort my heart. It is a dessert of both meager origins and uncomplicated design. In fact, the basic recipe is so perfect in its original form that few variations have been made and sustained overtime. Very much like the best memories of my childhood, strawberry shortcake is delicious in its pure, unassuming simplicity. The origin of this delicious dessert dates back at least as far as the 1500s, but the evolution of strawberry shortcake is somewhat uncertain. However, records do reveal strawberry shortcake is a European invention. The "short" of the shortcake name derives from the process of adding of shortening or butter to dough to make it tender. Strawberry shortcake parties became popular in the United States around 1850, as a celebration of the coming of summer. The strawberry fever caught up with people as the timing of introducing the dessert clicked and the demand kept increasing every year. Made of fresh ingredients in a few simple steps, it is no wonder strawberry shortcake is so popular...

...The beach is my favorite vacation spot. It’s not just a beach, it is Virginia Beach. It makes memories with my family every year. The first time I went there was about three years ago. It was the best experience ever from staying in a beautiful waterfront hotel to going out to the best seafood places in town to walking on the beach. My first time there it was beautiful. The only beach I ever went to was Seaside Heights New Jersey which is nice but in Virginia you can see through the water and you see dolphins peeking there head and body out of the water. It was exactly like picture you see on the internet and your senses goes everywhere from the scent of the salty water, the sweet scent of ice cream from the ice cream cart going down the boardwalk, hearing music and people chatting, the sand getting stuck in your flip flops and the sight of a beautiful blue ocean with waves crashing on the sands....

...-good or bad- sets the scene for all of high school and everything snowballs from there. This seventh grade year has been the best year of school for me so far. I have pulled up good grades and I have looked at a college, but my favorite moment from this year was the Outdoor Survival trip. This is my favorite memory because it was just so interesting to climb to the tallest point of Mt. Lassen. After we climbed down from that hike, we went on ANOTHER hike. This other hike was called the Bumpass Hell trail. The Bumpass Hell trail lead us on an adventure through an active geyser field (it smelled so bad it would make you stomach churn), a beautiful mountain view platform, and a running spring. Finally after we returned to camp after a long day (it was only 4:00 p.m. at this time), a friend and I went fishing at the lake. Now this lake was not the best for fishing because it was extremely shallow at the edges and deep in the middle. But both of us caught decent sized fish....

...and those few things done at home with mom or dad that seemed so small then but have come to be a favorite memory. Of all the aspects of my childhood one of the most influential and memory filled was cooking in the kitchen with my mother. In addition to cooking being a favorite memory for me I believe it is a great activity to do with children, it is a useful lifelong skill and it is relaxing and enjoyable. I am grateful that I was taught how to cook and how to enjoy cooking as a child. It has filtered into my life as an adult and my family now. I can recall the wonderful smells of the traditional fall time cooking, apple crisp, whoopee pies and my favorite fresh chocolate chip cookies wafting through my little house in the woods of Maine. I am happy to be able to include Makenzie in the joy I get from cooking. I remember how thrilled I was to come home and see ingredients set out on the counter and know that mom had a new recipe project to do. I can now repeat those projects with Makenzie, it is so satisfying to see her get excited to learn from me and do something we’ll both always remember. Cooking is a great bonding time for a child and adult it is fun and children can be inventive and not realize that what they are being taught will follow them through life. Besides the nostalgic aspects of learning to cook throughout childhood and growing up into an adult it has come to my attention that cooking is a helpful know how skill to have. Many young people find themselves obtaining...

...that humans used in their process to socialize, interact with others can be defined as the process of sending information, to convince others to understand our point of view and build relations. What is the purpose of communication? We communicate to know each other, to find out about others emotions, to change information, to convince others to understand our point of view. This isn’t only about spoken words that come out of someone’s mouth it is also about communication with the interaction of their bodies and/or gestures. In this paper I will talk about a child’s memory and a senior’s memory about their favorite childhood memory. In speaking to my daughter about her childhood memory I noticed how excited she looked as she was explaining this memory; as if she was living in the moment at the time of our conversation/interview. Though the memory didn’t seem as exciting to me as it did to her, her favorite memory was taking a trip to Disney Land when she was 6 years old. With excitement in her face she recalled all the rides she got on, the food she ate, and the landmarks that we visited at the theme park. However, nothing seemed as exciting as the end of the theme park which where the fireworks and the parade that happens at the end of the night. She relived every single moment as she recalled the scene. She not only...

...through it, she was happy and positive every day even if she was having a bad day. She ran even when she was out of school when she getting worse, that proves she's a fighter. She was the teacher that made me work hard and do my best and make me go back and fix all my mistakes and redo my quizzes and test, she really cared about her students and how they did in school. She is the best history teacher ever. I will never forget her and her teaching ways. I remember when I went to class at lunch and we ate candy and talked. This year I would talk to her before I went to pather block since my pather block was next door with Mrs.Curtin. The last thing I said to her was “I love you see you tomorrow, have a nice day bye,” but she never came back. She was going to let me teach her class for civics hours, she was really the best. She will be remembered. Students have some memories of Mrs.Wigle. Hannan.T favorite part of having Mrs. Wigle is “she was energetic, she always made learning fun”. Also Hannan. ...As I look back on my childhood memories the first image that comes to my mind is a place known as General Villamil Playas. This a very small coastal city located in Guayas, Ecuador. It was named after the independence hero General Jose de Villamil. My parents decided to buy a house there when I was approximately one year of age in 1980, and every time school was out, my family and I would spend our vacation days there. It was only an hour and a half away from where we lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Not only did my parents buy a house there but other relatives did so too. Every time we traveled there, we never went alone. My aunts and uncles went with us as well. Playas is a coastal city, therefore its economy is based on tourism. It has undergone...

...Eugenia Flores Professor Gimaraes English 1A February 10, 2014 Most important place that you enjoy as a child Everything changes, but memories lasts. As a child I also had my favorite place and was my home, the home that I left behind when we moved to this country. My home is located in El Salvador a peaceful quiet place where every afternoon at 4 pm was all noise because of my sisters and I and other kids from our neighborhood. The house was white and burgundy, it had two windows one on each side, the house looked like a face to me, because the windows were the eyes and in the center the door which to me was the mouth of the house. Even though I no longer live there I miss the backyard, it is small but we owned a small garden with red roses and violets, there is the place where I used to play along with dolls and sisters. Also I miss my bedroom which I called our heaven because is the place where my sisters and I shared happiness, tears, and even secrets. I miss going to the park in front of our house, we will always see a grown man sitting on a bench. Whenever we went to the park we would played as much until night came. Most of my memories were created in that house and neighborhood. Whenever I need to calm down my minds travels back to the house I lived as a child. The house with the small garden, our garden was located in the back of our house a garden that was composed with red roses their ordor was fresh as can feel the sweatness of the rose, the sweatness it...

...huge admirer. At the young age of six, I took my first trip to Walt Disney. A big part of who I am is my love for Disney culture. From the day that my mom put in Toy Story, my enthusiasm for Disney spread like fire and, once kindled, blew into a flame. As a kid, I was curious to see, learn, and do just about everything. When I watched movies like Aladdin or Jungle Book, I was captivated by the great characters, the songs, and the exotic, faraway lands the movies introduced. My mom would play Aladdin, and I would watch the entire movie, then go to my neighbor’s house across the street, and go to my friend Ian’s house, and tell him, “We need to go explore!” I was convinced that if Ian and I walked far enough, we would come across a desert like in Aladdin, or a mysterious jungle with singing monkeys. Watching Disney movies really sparked my enthusiasm for exploring and for traveling. As soon as I started high school, I g heavily involved myself in foreign language and student clubs like Student Council and Science Club. Spanish introduced me to other parts of the world, which I found appealing because of my urge to see other places. My open-mindedness, curiosity, and enthusiasm for travel can be linked to my early interests in characters that I found appealing, like Wendy, who took a leap of faith and joined Peter Pan on a journey to Never Land, and I will never forget Rapunzel finally leaving her tower. I was always at the edge of my seat during all of these movies and I truly felt...

Every past Thanksgiving from what I could remember, was always a massive celebration. All our family came from out of town and across the country to celebrate the Thanksgiving with us. It was one of my favorite holidays, having all our family was together always brought back good memories, but due to our situation, we were not expecting any of our relatives this year. However, when we heard several footsteps rushing through the stairs, we immediately knew who it was. Every single aunt, uncle, and cousin at our door step, everyone was carrying an abundances of food tamales, pozole, and even a turkey. The surprise overwhelmed us with joy. Although we did not any furniture, we...

...such a great way to make new friends to start out the school year with. Playing tennis with these newly made friends was so much fun, and doing it everyday helped me improve on my game as well. It also helped me build confidence socially. Being able to talk to the four sophomores on the team really helped me establish a good perspective on what the high school was going to be like, and learn that it is not as scary as it is made out to be. Tryouts were the hardest part of the whole process. They started bright and early at eight am and went till eleven. It was so early when you arrived, that it was actually cold outside for the first half hour or so. The first hour was all conditioning which included running a mile, running the bleachers, footwork, core work, and or leg work. Then the next two hours were actual playing time. Both of these things were quite brutal considering we were all doing this under the beaming hot sun, but it helped having a bunch of nice faces cheering you on while doing everything. I arrived each day sore...
