...walls could talk”? Technically, my walls can talk. My walls tell my life story. If a stranger were to walk into my room, that person would immediately know a lot about me just from looking around and observing the objects I have in my room. The stranger will find some good things and some some bad things about my identity that make me who I am. To find out more about me they will have to look deeper into all aspects of my objects to find out more about my true self. Usually, a person's room can be a direct reflection of their identity. As a college freshman that used to live in the dorms, I could see that fact in my own room. My old roommate and I have certain things in our space that portray our different identities. I believe that by analyzing a person or a “roommates” living space, one can find out a great deal about that persons identity, as well as, teach you so much about yourself....

...Long since the beginning of human life in this modern day, children have developed a common sense to disregard the state of their room. I am no different than any other typical child in today's world. For the last decade and a half, I've always disregarded my room and keeping it clean. I always thought that I had more 'important' things to do instead of cleaning. These 'important' things were my video games. I know this started early. Back when I was just a toddler, I know I always scattered everything I had. I never seemed bothered by it. In fact, I got my room so bad that it was three feet high with junk everywhere in my room. I never really seemed to care, though. Currently I'm feeling ashamed that I let myself live like this. Living in this clustered mess I call a bedroom. I believe that, after I fix it and become organized, I'll be much better off. I'll be able to tile my room, too! I had my carpet pulled up from the ground a while ago, so I've been living on concrete for some time, now. The rewards I can see are actually being able to use my chair properly. A chair with wheels that is free to roll around the floor without being stopped by every single detail of junk laying about. I actually have seen someone else with this issue, but they managed to fix it up. The only problem is, their parents threw away everything in the bedroom and they started over with new-everything. I think they've kept on keeping it clean, though. I haven't seen, or heard from, them in a few years...

...their boss they didn’t get no work done. Well now I should probably get to the point of my here story. So one fine sunny day down in Scranton Jim and Martha wanted to get away from the town and go into the good ol country. Luckily there good friend Dave lived on a family farm, named Schrute Farms, there lived Dave’s brother Cam. Cam was a very literal man. If you said some sort of sarcasm he wouldn’t quite get yer words. Anyhoo, Jim and Martha got to Schrute Farms and Dave gave them the best ol room in the whole farm house the “Sweet Home Suite”. They walked in the room and Jim jumped so high that he bonked his head on the ceiling....

...The plane shook as it took off into the sky. Only to be shown a small part of Los Angeles before ascending into the clouds. Erin and Amber were still shaken up from their parent’s death only to be told 5 days ago. The funeral was full of tears dripping down cheeks, the sky was gray only starting to rain. Before their parent’s coffin descending into the ground, Erin and Amber gave their parent’s one last goodbye. Shaking off the memory of the funeral, Erin grabbed her notebook that she took everywhere. The pages filled with plants, flowers, and animals began to come alive. Across the room, Amber was pacing back and forth showing her anxiety to her little sister. As Erin walked in, she began to see the mess of clothes across the room. “I didn’t...

...Why is it so hard for some people to stay organized? Growing up, we’ve been told to “be organized.” Whether at home or at school, organization should always be a part of us. I know a lot of people who struggle with disorganization and my brother is the best example of that. I remember when I was still young, I always saw him coming home after school throwing his bag on the floor and start stripping towards his room leaving his clothes clutter everywhere in our house. There was not a day that I will not hear my mom yelling at my brother for being messy. My mother taught us to clean after our mess, but I don’t know why my brother is still messy even if she told him not to, a thousand times. He was 20 when he got petitioned by my dad and move...

...walk in my house I am greeted by loud little voices saying, “Karen’s home!” My two younger siblings are sitting at the kitchen counter with multiple coloring books open, crayons everywhere, left-over food on their plates, and great big smiles on their faces. I look over to the left where I see a sink full of dirty dishes filled with scraps of food from the days before. At this point I am already dreading being home. I escape to my room where I can find some peace but shortly after my siblings come barging in. I can never have my own privacy. They start complaining about how one hit the other and about how one doesn’t want to share her toys. All I can think is, “I want to be left alone.” After I deal with them and send them off to their room, I turn on my forty inch Samsung Smart TV. I take off my shoes, change into my grey sweatpants, and white t-shirt. I think, “Finally I’m able to lay in bed and relax.” Wrong. Next door I can hear my mother hollering my name. I am forced to get up and walk towards the yelling voice. My mother is sitting up against her fluffy pillows on her large king size bed. She has the remote on one hand and a bowl of noodles in the other. Her large white cotton blanket is wrapped around her up to her hips. She stares at me sternly and tells me to clean the house. Her words come out like an order from a drill sergeant. My to-do list has now tripled! On top of my math and writing homework, I now I have to clean the entire kitchen AND the living room. My head...

My only escape is the chorus room, nevertheless, even the brief fifty-foot walk down the hall is unnecessarily difficult and occasionally dangerous. On one occasion, due to the behavior exhibited in the hallway, I was almost provoked into creating a scene of my own. As expected, the cafeteria building was chaos necessitating me to weave and dodge through the crowd, however, this time after paying for my lunch, little did I know, I would be...

...The past two years of my high school time has been the longest most challenging, yet the best because of one person who will stay nameless at this time. It’s hard for me to prepare all of the papers and deal with the kids being mean. I don’t know if I would be in school if it was not for this person. ∗ ∗ ∗ ∗ ∗ Just the other day nameless person pull me out of class to talk about Mr. EJ; tried to help me out due to me missing the practices for Mr.EJ. She tried to encourage me to stay in Mr. EJ. She said, “I have a good idea for your talent.” Wanting me to stay in, she talked to me about how I could make it. Knowing I missed a lot of practices, (which is my mess up), but as always, Mrs. McPherson knew how I could make up for it. During a conversation at the senior lock-in she come up to me and she said, “That was a good time was it not?” I said, “it was okay.” Just being a pain the butt, because I knew she planned it. I love that I can joke around and said goofy thing with her....

...Committed As Grandma lay in the newly delivered hospital bed, Jessica sat to her right in the big comfy arm chair. I sat to the left of her in an old wooden kitchen chair with barely any cushion at all. “It’s funny how time changes things,” Jessica said as she rubbed Grandma’s hand. “I can remember when my mom was in the hospital, Grandma would sit there for hours holding her hand. Telling her to wake up.” By now tears where rolling down both our faces. Jessica looked up at me with the biggest brown eyes; I used to have to turn away from those eyes when I tried to correct her as a little girl. Jessica is thirteen years younger than me and I used to baby sit her and her little brother. “You know, Kristie, I can remember when you used to keep Bryan and me,” she said as I swabbed the moist sponge over Grandma’s lips again. “You used to read stories to us and point to the words with your long skinny fingers. Now looking at Grandma’s hands and comparing them to yours, you have her hands.” “I know, Jessica,” was all I could say as we started pulling back Grandma’s covers to see if her diaper needed to be changed. “Funny how, I can’t ever remember Grandma changing a diaper,” I said as I turned to look at Jessica. We both had that look of trying to remember ever seeing that image. “I do remember her always singing…Stinky, Stinky, use your pinky,” I sang out. We both started giggling, and noticed Grandma’s feet were moving. Excitedly we removed the covers off her feet...

...benefits are great but trees also provide other less obvious benefits. I planted my tree in a nice shady area but also sunny as well. I did this so it can get sun in the day but shade as the sun sets. One reason why I planted this tree was to improve our air and planet, I planted this with help from my dad and his green thumb. In addition, my project is important because “it has been shown that spending time among trees and green spaces reduces the amount of stress we carry”. Not only that, but also “trees reduce the amount of storm water runoff, which reduces erosion and pollution in our waterways and may reduce the effects of flooding”. Uniquely “fallen tree leaves can reduce soil temperature and soil moisture loss. Decaying leaves promote soil”. In essence my project is helping...

...Ohler 1 Kyle Hardenbrook Chemistry CP October 16, 2014 It was not right for what I did in chemistry class today. Swinging my apron between my legs and making weird noises is a safety caution. If someone was walking by me swinging my apron I could have knocked something out of their hand and made them drop the item. It could have been glass or a specific chemical that was dangerous and caused more injury towards someone. It was extremely immature and I let my energy get to the best of my actions today in chemistry. Proper actions should be mature and not act like a fool and try to get people’s attention and make them laugh. Being the class clown is nothing to be happy about. If I would have causes an accident then their project could have been jeopardized which means their grade is jeopardized. I don’t want to be responsible for affecting someone’s grade because of my immature acts. If I were to knock something over and it was hazardous I could have a possibility of injuring someone. Chemicals are nothing to mess around with and that’s why you should never mess around in a lab. If I were to hurt someone it could mean being in the hospital and if I were responsible for having someone in the emergency room and to pay for someone’s bills I would feel absolutely horrible. Being immature in lab and having fun is nothing to joke about. You need to be 100% serious or else you are endangering other people around your own...

...I have been treated like a child my whole life. That all changed when I went to Scotland because my grandmother was having a knee operation. I knew it’ll be my responsibility to take care of her after the hospital. The day grandmother was coming home I cleaned the whole house from the bedrooms to the bathroom. I never really would clean the house but it was showing how responsible I was starting to become. The next day I actually felt like I can take responsibility for what I do, usually grandmother would go and pick up my four year old cousin from school and that would mean she would have to walk. She actually went one day without telling me and I told her next time to let me go get her. She didn’t say anything after that I went to go get her from school everyday. Grandmother had to walk for at least 15 minutes so I decided to go with her on walks, which I usually don’t do but I mean what if she fell and she needed help, and I wanted to grow a better relationship with her. After grandmothers knee felt better we went to London for a week for a wedding and to see my cousins newborn baby. When we were there the only thing I did was care for the baby because her mother didn’t exactly know how to take care of a newborn so I helped. My aunt would have to take care of the baby but then she would have to go to work so I told my aunt to let me do the housework and she can go and relax. It felt good to know that you actually can help others without even knowing it. Me, I usually...
