...Tzu was able to prove himself. This shows that an action speaks a thousand sound words. By proving his capability he was able to get the position of a general. This can be applied to our current life where in it is important to prove our worth through our actions and results. The most important principle of Sun Tzu for me is to attack an enemy’s weakness not to go head-on with the strength of one. This is practical in a way that by avoiding contending with the enemy’s strength, a business is able to save resources which would have been wasted in doing so. By attacking the weakness one can save resources and clashing with the contender. It allows you to properly allocate limited resources and maximize profit which is a business’ primary purpose. This is also the way I think, example would be a Korean who is able to speak English as fluently, which is my case. Instead of going to an English speaking country, I plan to work in a country with less English and Korean speakers, such as Taiwan. By working in such a country, I will be learning their language and will still be able to use the other two foreign languages which will be to my advantage that others cannot. It is important to analyze the field of competition to fine the appropriate strategy that is the most feasible for the kind of industry. No one thing can be singled out to be claimed as the most important principle as all of Sun Tzu’s principle works together, ignoring one may lead to their own...

People learn for the resolution of possible conflicts between dialectically opposed and synergetic modes between the workplace and oneself (Kolb & Kolb, 2005). In the portfolio I will reflect on my learning in relation to my experiences that I have study on BSB124. I will discuss it in two second, including intrapersonal effectiveness and interpersonal effectiveness. First, I will indicate how my learning style helps me be effective to intrapersonal study and work. Then, I will reflect on my practice as developing our group presentation. My reflections will be evaluated and supported by reference to the related theories and models we have learnt from this unit. Also, I have identified two areas of professional development in order to advance my strength and improve my weakness. 2.0 Intrapersonal Effectiveness 2.1 Definition of Intrapersonal...

...evaluation of current skills and knowledge that includes my strengths and weaknesses. Development is a lifelong of nurturing, shaping and improving an individual's skills, knowledge and interests to ensure my maximum effectiveness and adaptability, and to minimize the obsolescence of my skills and my chances of redundancy. It does not necessarily imply upward movement; rather, it is about enabling individuals to improve and use my full potential at each career stage. (Definition of personal development planning from class material) The personal development plan for me is a chance to know my self better, I can realize what I want to achieve or where I want to go in the plan, in the short- or long-term, and also identifying the need for skills, knowledge or competence. It also helps me to define the appropriate development to meet those perceived needs. In this report, I am going to focusing on what my strengths are and where my weaknesses are, also how to use my strengths in the field I will work into in the future, and how to develop my weaknesses to be my strengths as well. 2. EVALUATION OF SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Evaluation is the key stage to the self-development cycle because it enables me to discover whether that development activity was worthwhile, applicable, and if and how my skills or working behaviour as a result. ...Status: Freshman university student Nationality: Vietnam Experience: -10/2014: I and my group in the class had to interview foreigners from many continents for our presentation by giving them the questionnaire, which had the topic called: “Cross-cultural communication”. At first, I and my team were nervous because we thought people will be afraid of having an interview with strange people. However, they were really friendly and easy-going and the interview has helped me think more positively before doing something. Because the interview was successful, we did the presentation quite well in the class. Through the interview, I can improve my ability to work in a team and confident in front of people, even there is a crowd. Also, my communication skill has been developed. ... My writing style has been describe by my family and friends as middle school level. I have tried very hard to work on it. It has been one of the reasons it took me so long to pursue my graduate degree. I knew my writing was not up to par for a graduate student. I tend to write the way I speak and my grammar is worst than my eight year old sons. I can use the fact that english is not my first language, but I honestly think, I have been so used to speaking and writing in slang so much it is hard for me not to now. I knew I had to start correcting myself and be more mindful of my grammar and language once I started teaching. It is still a work in progress, I try to usually keep my messages to the parents short and simple. I also write in cursive, that way when I misspell a word it is harder to see. My research skills has not been any better. I am still learning how to cite my citations. I cannot tell the difference between MLA and APA format. I tend to have a hard time putting what I need into my own words and summarizing. I do not like writing papers, but it is unavoidable in graduate school. After reviewing the research guides and completing the avoiding plagiarism tutorial I now have a little bit of a guide to follow. My strength has always been my ability to take notes. I love to write, I tend to have a hard time summarizing, so I write everything done. When I am doing a research, I would write down anything that has to do with my topic. Having the information...
