Personality tests are a good way to find out how you react to things, how you deal with issues, what personality you have, a good career to fit you, and possible personality matches. There are many different types of personality tests that can help people discover their personality. Personality tests help people in many different ways and areas in their lives and are taken for a number of reasons. There are eight different letters used that are combined to make up sixteen personality types. Each one has four letters which describe what your personality is like. The questions are all based on how the person looks at life, their emotions, work style, and how they relate to others. There are no correct or incorrect answers; they are to be answered according to what the person thinks. There are many formats and ways personality tests are given. Some personality tests give the person a choice between “a” or “b”, or yes and no, but others may have a scale from 1-5 and the person has to choose whether they strongly agree or disagree. A personality test may not be completely correct due to the person not being studied, but only being scored by their answers and consistency. The tests often ask the same questions in different ways in order to see the inconsistencies in answers. “The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is commonly used by corporations and by marriage counselors. Corporations will type their employees and train in the hopes that everybody learns to get along with types that are different from themselves, to communicate better. Marriage counselors use the MBTI to help spouses communicate better through understanding.” (Craig).
The eight letters used to describe personality are: E, I, S, N, T, F, J and P. Each letter means something different and are combined to describe your personality. The results of my Myers-Briggs personality test were close to how I
