Throughout life, there will be several opportunities to experience many different views from devices, the internet, or even reading materials. Whether it is a television commercial or a simple advertisement, they all grab the viewer's attention in some form that sticks with them. The important part of every commercial is how the audience listens and what they take away from what they have seen. It is everyone’s job to listen to the true message behind the commercial because just simply listening could change their lives or perspective on certain topics. In the advertisement NO MORE PSA by the NO MORE organization, I was stunned by the effect it truly had on my conscience. This organization does several projects to raise awareness for countless situations but this campaign happens to be on domestic violence in the United States. The author’s purpose is to help people learn about these situations by creating awareness and attempting to get individuals to speak up about domestic violence in their own lives. This commercial successfully created awareness and a realization of the seriousness of domestic violence in the United …show more content…
By having the 911 call involved, they escalated the empathy for the obstacles victims face. Knowing that there was a woman out there who had to pretend to order a pizza, while her significant other was in the next room watching television, just to simply receive help from law enforcement is truly disheartening. This creates a sense of panic among the audience that the victim will get the help she desperately needs before her significant other returns to the room she is in. Furthermore, the intended audience of this commercial was for those watching the 2015 Super Bowl. Because of the fact that an estimated 114 million individuals watch the Super Bowl each year, this organization attempted to bring an emotional realization to each individual during this

Indeed, we began helping mothers to re-hydrate their children in 1978. The positive effects were remarkable, and we haven’t looked back since. For HIV victims, we fought stigma, delivering behavior change that combined treatment and prevention. For civil society advocates, we’re exploring the power of technology to build networks, and the subsequent power of networks to change the behavior of systems. Organ Donation Campaign California

...Life California: A Campaign Launch Case Study Helen Allrich Elizabeth Dougall David Heneghan Corresponding author: Helen Allrich hallrichster@gmail.com Suggested Citation: Allrich H, Dougall E, Heneghan D. Donate Life California: A Campaign Launch Case Study. Cases in Public Health Communication & Marketing. 2007 June. Available from: http://www. casesjournal.org/volume1/peer-reviewed/cases_1_05.cfm. Peer-Reviewed Case Study Abstract In April 2005, Donate Life California launched California’s first online organ donor registry called the “Donate Life California Registry.” This confidential database allows Californians to share their organ donation wishes by registering online. To compel Californians to become organ donors by registering online, the Donate Life team engaged hospital partners, media partners, and community partners. The campaign’s four-fold challenge was to: (1) redefine and reposition organ donation as a public health problem for Californians, (2) educate the public and the media about the lack of organ donors, (3) spread awareness using community collaboration and media advocacy strategies, and (4) adopt a single call to action compelling Californians to become organ donors by registering online. Launched with the goal of registering 15,000 people in 12 months, the registry attracted more than 175,000 registrations in the first six months. The online registry’s success was driven by a well-crafted strategic communication campaign underpinned by two...

...ork2012 - 2013 Catalog A Message from the President “Sullivan University is truly a unique and student success focused institution.” I have shared that statement with numerous groups and it simply summarizes my basic philosophy of what Sullivan is all about. When I say that Sullivan is “student success focused,” I feel as President that I owe a definition of this statement to all who are considering Sullivan University. First, Sullivan is unique among institutions of higher education with its innovative, career-first curriculum. You can earn a career diploma or certificate in a year or less and then accept employment while still being able to complete your associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree by attending during the day, evenings, weekends, or online. Business and industry do not expand or hire new employees only in May or June each year. Yet most institutions of higher education operate on a nine-month school year with almost everyone graduating in May. We remained focused on your success and education, and continue to offer our students the opportunity to begin classes or to graduate four times a year with our flexible, year-round full-time schedule of classes. If you really want to attend a school where your needs (your real needs) come first, consider Sullivan University. I believe we can help you exceed your expectations. Since words cannot fully describe the atmosphere at Sullivan University, please accept my personal invitation to visit and experience...

Since 1992, when the first of our European production facilities was opened in the UK, Toyota has invested almost €7 billion throughout Europe. We now employ approximately 80,000 people and have nine European manufacturing facilities. But the construction of vehicle and engine assembly plants is only part of the story. In 2007, we also expanded our technical centre in Belgium, investing an additional €75 million to ensure that Toyota and Lexus vehicles continue to meet the high engineering and design standards of European customers. Another major investment was the new European Global Production Centre in the UK, established for the training of production staff and supervisors from all over Europe. Toyota also continues to invest heavily in the training...

The BMW Group is one of the largest automotive manufacturers that focus on the premium segment, producing both automobiles and motorcycles. The Group is headquartered in Munich, Germany and its business operations are divided into three segments: Automotive, Motorcycle and Financial Services, where the Automotive segment provide by far the largest source of revenue. The Relationship Between Electoral Process and Stability in Nigeria

...CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background to the study Structured election process is one of the indicators of stability in Nigeria’s democracy. Elections in Nigeria continue to elicit more than casual interest by Nigerian scholars due to the fact that despite the appreciation that only credible election can consolidate and sustain the country’s nascent democracy, over the years, Nigeria continues to witness with growing disappointments and apprehension inability to conduct peaceful, free and fair, open elections whose results are widely accepted and respected across the country (Ekweremadu, 2011). All the elections that have ever been conducted in Nigeria since independence have generated increasingly bitter controversies and grievances on a national scale because of the twin problems of mass violence and fraud that have become central elements of the history of elections and of the electoral process in the country (Gberie, 2011). Despite the marked improvement in the conduct of the 2011 elections, the process was not free from malpractices and violence (National Democratic Institute, 2012). Thus over the years, electoral processes in the history of Nigeria’s democratic governance have continued to be marred by extraordinary display of rigging, dodgy, “do or die” affair, ballot snatching at gun points, violence and acrimony, thuggery, boycotts, threats and criminal manipulations of voters' list, brazen falsification of election results, the use of security agencies against...

Where information has been derived from other sources, I confirm that this has been indicated in the thesis. Candidate’s signature ………………………………….. Qianwen Liu 2 Abstract In the past two decades the steady growth of seaborne trade has resulted in the increase of container ships, container ports and their terminals. The structure of the shipping market is, moreover, continuously evolving. On the carrier side, shipping companies form consortia and alliances; on the port side, global terminal operators and dedicated container terminals are emerging. The aim of this research is to evaluate the efficiency of container ports and terminals and to study how to improve the scale efficiency of any particular port/terminal. In particular we study how certain factors influence the efficiency of container ports and terminals. Regional container ports and global container terminals are examined based on the econometrics benchmarking method Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). Two datasets are used, a panel dataset for 32 container ports in the North Mediterranean Sea over a nine-year period, and a cross-sectional...
