NASCAR has grown to a predominant sports name in the past 60 years all built from a man passion named William Henry France. Since the first race in 1948 car racing has skyrocketed with fans traveling hundreds of miles to watch a race and sponsors jumping on board to share the success.
The NASCAR industry has felt the sting of the 2008 recession with low attendance and criticism about their environmental awareness. Nevertheless, NASCAR has survived the financial worries with a creative mix of brand awareness, solid sponsorships from reputable name vendors, and vivid action-packed television coverage.
NASCAR has created an intense network of friends that belong to a social group who all associate themselves as a need for speed and …show more content…
Fans are passionate about racing and NASCAR could use this to its advantage by creating a loyal race traveler club that entices fans to join thereby promoting special incentives along discounted merchandise and travel vouchers for sponsored hotels.

3. What strategies do you recommend to counter the criticisms leveled against NASCAR?
Focus on the fact that NASCAR has made several changes throughout their business structure such as; switching to an unleaded fuel with a request from EPA, advocated a 15% ethanol blend of gasoline to assist American farmers, and moved to install fuel injected engines to increase fuel efficiency.
They are continuing to correct safety concerns with drivers to avoid major injury from crashes like the head and neck support systems along with the seatbelt restraint system. Also, if cars are involved in crashes, the cars are equipped with a fire-suppressant system to keep the drivers safer. They have installed safety barriers to soften the impact if a driver should crash, also, the use of restrictor plates to slow the drivers down a bit during
