...Approaching new people at school can sometimes be a difficult thing. Before I had the chance to interview Bobby I had only noticed him around school every now and then, and I never seemed to have a good opportunity to actually approach him and have a conversation. Interviewing Bobby told me minor things such as when his birthday is, to other more important things, like what he wants his career to be when he gets older and what he seems himself succeeding his graduation from high school. I was able to learn all about Bobby’s family, school activities, and his skills and hobbies. The first thing I got to talk to Bobby about was his family life. Bobby told me he was born in Greensburg, has lived here his entire life, and will most likely continue to live here as he gets older. Yet he did say that if he could live anywhere in the world he would like to live in Hawaii because he has always wanted to go to a tropical place. Next, Bobby has 3 older siblings. There is Shauna who is 19, Joe who is 22, and Michael who is 30. Bobby said that he enjoys being the youngest of the family because he likes that he gets more attention. Lastly, Bobby has a 7 month old dog named Moose. Some tricks Moose can do is things like sit, stay, and heel. Having Bobby talk to me about his family helped me to know more about...

...Stacy is a very interesting person. She is my sister so i've know her a long time. I talked to Stacy and I asked her some questions that relate to her coming of age. Im very glad I get to talk about my sister Stacy with people. I think that you will like her just as much as I do when i'm done. The first question that I asked Stacy was, what was an advantage and disadvantage of being the oldest child? She said that one of the advantages of being the oldest child is was it helped her to become a more independent leader and also taught her to take care of younger children. One disadvantage that Stacy had was she was the experimental child so she had to go through things first and I had to go through it second and got through things easier. I asked Stacy, What was a time in your life that made you come of age? Stacy told me how when she moved in an apartment it made her realize that she was younger then what she thought she was. Also moving away from her parents made her realize...

...On October 3rd, I had the privilege to interview Mr Gibson who was more than just a teacher throughout his working career. Mr. Gibson was a lawyer for twenty years and taught in the Bronx for three years as well. He had the opportunity to teach a variety of different grade levels such as elementary school, middle school, high school as well as special education classes. Currently, he is teaching biology to autistic students in Eastchester High School. Although I learned a lot through the first interview of Mr. Cole, I was able to compare the ideas of both of these completely different teachers in order to gather advice in which I believe is important to look at and think towards in order to move further into the career itself. While Mr Cole answered questions more to the point and direct, Mr Gibson went around the general idea and became more involved with the idea of motivation within the classroom. I connected and learned well from both teachers but Mr Gibson, due to his experience in the field, really helped me understand what is needed in order to take part in the field of education. Being...

...For the assessment and interview, I was with a seven-year-old with ASD and his mother and sister. It was the same child that I performed the BOT-II on. The therapist had warned me before that this might be a difficult mom to interact with. She told me she could come off as very intimidating and usually takes the lead for interviews. I am relatively comfortable with my interview skills with parents because of my experience at the Waisman Center with Sharon. I tried to stay calm because I knew I had the ability to interview a parent, but the therapist’s warning did make me nervous. This interview was also difficult because this family was not a new one to clinic. Instead of being able to go though an entire occupational profile or collecting a...

...I have always had an interest in obtaining a career in real estate, and for this reason I chose to interview Pamela Beall. Pamela is a licensed realtor in the state of Texas, and has been in practice for about eight years. I’ve known Pamela for many years, and have even used her services myself to help my find a home. She has won multiple awards for real estate professionals. She has also run into multiple ethical dilemmas during her eight-year career. Before I began the interview, Pamela informed me that all realtors must take a required course that focuses on the National Association of Realtor’s Code of Ethics. Not only must they take the course to become a realtor, it is also a required continuing education course that must be taken every two years. I found this quite interesting, and it led to my first question. I asked Pamela what she had learned from her last time taking the required course, and how it differed from what she had learned when she first took the course. Pamela...

My relationship with my interviewee is that she is my mother so we are very comfortable with one another. Julie was very open with me when I was asking her questions regarding our family security and insecurity. When she would finish with the question I would move on to the next question. During some of...

...On 6/12/17 I met Mr. Holtslander at the office of Dr. Lis. Mr. Holtslander continues to report left shoulder pain. His examination showed limited range of motion above the shoulder. He reports he feels he is about 25 % better since the injection and starting physical therapy. Dr. Lis had the current physical therapy report. They do not put him on a work level and that he has seemed to plateau. At this point Dr. Lis recommends going in and looking. He said there could be two options. He may need to just have the shoulder “cleaned up”, or he may need a full Rotator cuff repair. Dr. Lis said we do know he has a partial tear, but the MRI’s do not show 100% of what is going on. Mr. Holtslander said he would like to discuss this with his...

...continuously proved herself to be my most honest and interesting professor. I wanted to know more about why she seemed to despise journalism, even though she teaches journalism classes and once worked in the industry, so I decided to interview her for this assignment. Professor Oates received her bachelor’s degree from Yale University. She studied political science. However, because she was so involved with the school newspaper in Yale, she received several internships that helped her get a job at a small newspaper office in Florida. She explained that even though she loved telling stories and learning more about people, she decided she was not tough enough to endure the darker side of journalism involving interviewing families of murder victims and families of those who had committed suicide. After taking a long through the highway, she decided to go back to school. Professor Oates received her master’s and doctorate degree from Emory...

...My journey with Chick-fil-A began when I was 16 years of age in 2007. Even as a teenager, I understood the value of a dollar thanks to my parents’ direction. I wanted the freedom of driving my first car and beginning my financial future. As soon as construction began on Reynolds Road free standing restaurant (FSR), I realized I wanted to work there. I completed my application online and delivered it to the trailer marked “Now Hiring” in the parking lot. Little did I fathom this one act would transform my life forever. The Operator, Rob Watkins, opened the door and asked if I would come in for an interview later that week. I enthusiastically said yes to this interview opportunity. The outcome of the interview proved to be worthwhile due to the fact that I was hired on the spot as Rob’s first employee. I was ecstatic! The paperwork and uniform fitting...

...and lotion for babies, infants, and even adults. I selected Mrs. Mendez for my informational interview because I believe that it is important to have more women in the business industry, and because when I am older I want to be able to have my own business as well. From this interview, I learned that with knowing that business is the path you want to take for your future. You have to be able to learn how to work in small and big business before you jump into creating a business of your own. You have to be able to learn how to work in different sized business because the environment for both is very different. With this, I also learned that with wanting a successful company or business you want to be able to have a successful advertisement, and you want to give the world a good or service that they actually want. Without successful advertisement and a good or service that people want, your business might not go anywhere in the future. When completing the interview, something that Mrs. Mendez said that keeps sticking to me is that no matter if you want to start a business or already have one you will always need luck,...

...I recently interviewed a 5th grade teacher at Roseway Heights. My intention for doing this interview was to get a better understanding of how teachers go about giving a lecture, how they chose to run an activity, and how they keep the students actively focused. The teacher I interviewed is actually an assistant teacher who is currently enrolled in grad school to become a teacher. The kids refer to her as Ms. Daniels. Her role in the classroom is to assist the main teacher by working one on one with the students and grading. She is also tasked with teaching lessons when the main teacher is absent. The reason she is in this particular classroom has to do with the teacher having some health related issues and the class being a bit more rowdy than the others. The lesson she gave while I was observing her was first, a brief history of Halloween (since it was Halloween that day) and then a writing workshop that focused on drawing from your...
