...shift of administrative offices of large oil industry organizations and the like, which shows the current expansion and the expectation of prosperity for the local economy leveraged by good prospects for oil exploration and production of the Campos basin. Due to this growth, Macaé is classified as one of the six best cities for employment and business in Brazil, with a considerable population of medium/high purchasing power. This combined with the low speed installation of business related to the well-being of people in the city (entertainment, health, leisure, etc) clearly points to many business opportunities. The business proposal described herein is to build a Center for Monitored Physical Exercise named: “ATTITUDE PILATES STUDIO”; based on the PILATES method, which combines improvements in the body esthetic while fixing postural problems. It is a method already widespread in large centers, but it will be a pioneer in Macaé. The joint venture will offer innovative inherent method and high quality...

...Write an essay on your personal experience using tactile cues to facilitate proper breath, axial elongation, organization of head, neck and shoulders, spine articulation and alignment. Make note if you were successful in facilitating desired outcomes. How did you know whether or not you were successful? Touch can help a Pilates student to relax a muscular tension or a contracted structure. Comfortable contact can also help to move a segment or give a proprioception to expand structures like the rig cage during a breathing for example. Most people react with pleasure to the touch of the therapist if it is provided with a non invasive palpation, respectful and not abruptly. The touch should be gentle and firm at the same time. Firm in order to lead a movement, to shape a body structure. When we touch a person we must be connected and focused on the information that we want to give her. It must be a clear intention in the touch that we are given. Should have a communication between the tactile cue and the client, a good touch can lead a correct gesture while transmit a positive energy . We should take care not to force a movement with a touch overdone . We must inform the client's body and motion path with a delicate and precision tactile cue. The more the therapist is connected with the student, with a accurate intention the best will be the conduction of the gesture, facilitating the clients understanding. Excess of touches can confuse the student. Be careful not to touch...

...and later translated to Greek, and now translated to English. So there is also a large possibility of misinterpretation through these translations. Because of these limitations, the truth of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is not entirely clear, though, a picture can be painted using these perspectives mentioned, however unclear. Despite the lack of clarity of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, there are still events we can say that occurred with a fair amount of certainty, even 2000 years ago. Even the existence of Jesus himself is argued by some scholars but we will agree he was a real man for the sake of this article. As for the crucifixion itself, we can also agree on some facts. Firstly, Jesus was crucified under the order of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea. Secondly, a sign reading “This is Jesus King of Jews” was placed above Jesus’ head during his crucifixion. Lastly, Jesus’ death occurred in Jerusalem during, or near the time of Passover, a Jewish festival. Crucifixion was a method of execution used by the Roman Empire that was the worst form of punishment for its criminals....

...Pilate is Milkman’s aunt and his father’s younger sister. Tough she belongs to the Dead’s family, she seems to be not part of it since she neglects the materialistic Western lifestyle of the Deads. In contrast, Pilate is the embodiment of independent women, motherly love and Southern values in an industrialized capitalist North. She does not value social norms and rules and rejects adaption to it. Morrison describes Pilate as a character contradicting to standards in society by her outer appearance and her home at the outskirt of town. Her self-made earring, her short hairs, and her shabby outfits distinguish her from mainstream and express her uniqueness. Furthermore, her female-centered home where she earns her living by making wine indicates...

This course has challenged my body to perform difficult exercises on a daily basis such as: Rolling like a Ball, The Hundreds, Push Ups, and Open Leg Rocker. This class exceeded my expectations, exercising regularly enhanced my liveliness, improved my mood, and helped tone up my figure. Through this course, I discovered that Pilates was a pleasurable effective method of exercising. ...In Master and Margarita, Mikhail Bulgakov utilizes opposing forces to drive the major themes of the novel-- Good versus evil, spiritual life versus material life, and justice versus injustice. These contrasting ideas are dependent upon each other to embody the messages of the novel. Woland, the devil, is the main arbitrator of justice and evil, but also creates the main paradox in the novel. Unlike the devil of traditional Christian teachings, Woland is capable of good and benevolence. This paradox plays an important role in both the story in Moscow and Jerusalem. Woland causes the characters, and the reader, to question life by encouraging awareness of the interdependency of Good and Evil in the proper functioning of life. In the novel, all evil is necessary in order to obtain a greater good. However, we see this end goal lost in the stories of Caesar and Stalin. They no longer have are able to recognize the difference between constructive evil and destructive power. However, evil seems to play as a nameless character in the novel, and in turn, in Stalinist times. Stalin does not directly kill any individuals, and neither does Caeser, but people still live in fear of him. People are surrounded by this terror, and only those who are self-aware and willing to call reality into question are able to create meaning for themselves. Bulgakov uses characters to possess this ability to display how meaning can be attained even when surrounded by terror and repression. People...

...related the issue to me I replied: “No problem, Sir.” Then, there was further misunderstanding: I meant that he did not to worry about the issue being an issue. What he heard was that I took lightly the issue upon which he had just expounded. What a word or phrase means to me may not mean the same to you. Our Gospel Reading found Jesus before the Roman Governor, Pilate, and there is a misunderstanding between Jesus and Pilate. There is little doubt that when Pilate indirectly learned that Jesus claimed to be a king, Pilate conceived of a king ready to take arms and create his own kingdom, but Jesus was different. Jesus wielded not the weapons of the sword, rather Jesus wielded the weapon of non-violent resistance....

...Secularism and Christian Apologetics When I consider the reasons I returned to school and the chain of events that precipitated this dramatic life altering change, I know in my heart it is God guiding my steps. I am only a student, a late in life student, but I hope in some way I can be of some help perhaps through education a chance in some unknown infinitesimal way of helping to restore our country to some semblance of the moral clarity this nation was founded on. The Secular left is arguably responsible for the loss of our moral compass, today’s society is devoid of character, strength of integrity, honesty, piety, and respect for fellow man. While I am just a student, for me to be able to learn about a way (Apologetics) to help defend Christianity and as a result of my studies perhaps defend my country and my God, it is quite an honor that I hold dearly. I think this is summed up best by one of history’s early recognitions of our nation when described by the French Ambassador, Alexis de Tocqueville, as observed in Democracy in America; I do not know whether all Americans have a sincere faith in their religion, for who can read the human heart? But I am certain that they hold it to be indispensible to the maintenance of republican institutions. This opinion is not peculiar to a class of citizens or to a party, but it belongs to the whole nation and to every rank of society (Tocqueville). I pray we can become closer to this ideal once again. Secularism it is commonly...

...I’m Standing in the crowd waiting for Pontius Pilate's verdict, everyone around me is shouting and jeering for him to be killed while I am standing silently because i do not believe that this is the right thing, Jesus should not be crucified just because he proclaims himself to be the son of God. We all know that it’s true he has performed many miracles and helped many people so there is no reason that someone like him should be so brutally crucified. The crowd goes silent as Pontius Pilate comes marching out and tells everyone that Jesus will be crucified in a few hours. Most people are cheering and happy that he is going to die today, but there is a few others that see it my way and think that it's not good at all that he is getting crucified ....

...Judas Iscariot Judas Iscariot was a character in the bible that God uses to illustrate many different behaviors and the consequences that goes along with them for its readers. In the different scripture that spoke of him Judas wore many hats. Being angered that someone put ointment that cost a lot of money on Jesus’ feet Judas made a statement that the money it was worth should have been given to the poor. Judas was a thief at heart and that is why he wanted the money for himself he concern for the poor was just a front. Within the twelve apostles that Jesus himself chosen was Judas Iscariot. Jesus knew the state of Judas Iscariot’ heart and knew what was coming. Judas had a heart of evil and it reveals itself before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. There is one thing constant about a thief they always have a greed for more and that brought Judas Iscariot to taking money for betraying Jesus. Kissing Jesus signaled to them seeking him giving assurance that they would arrest the right man. After the arrest Jesus suffered terrible harm and eventually death by crucifixion. Judas betrayal was not a surprise since it was foreseen many years before and Jesus spoke of this betrayal beforehand while he and disciples were together. Knowing that his actions lead to Jesus death Judas fell into a deep sadness what we know today know as depression. He felt guilty for his actions and eventually returned the money and took his own life also known as suicide. The feelings and behaviors that...

...effects are not always severe, a child’s adolescent environment and experiences continue to affect his or her subconscious well into adulthood. In Edna O’Brien’s short story, The Doll, O’Brien utilizes religious allusion and a detached point of view to illustrate the effects that a repressive Irish Catholic childhood had on her narrator. O’Brien’s subtle use of religious allusion conveys to the reader the ideals of the narrator’s childhood society that have been ingrained into the minds of its members. The narrator describes her victimization by her teacher as being “a cruel cross to bear” (O’Brien 49). This allusion to the crucifixion identifies the narrator as a Christ-like character, contrasting the teacher, playing the role of Pontius Pilate, who acted out of fear of losing power. This description further elucidates the ideology of the society to associate any suffering as a Christ-like sacrifice and falls in character for the pristine little girl, constantly plagued by the “cruelty and stupidity” of her world, to use this description to excuse the ways of her teacher (O’Brien 54). The narrator then finds hope as “somebody said that [her] doll would make a most beautiful Virgin” (O’Brien 50). The comparison ascertains the doll as a source of purity and divine perfection for the narrator and her peers. For a society who subscribes devoutly to the concept of Immaculate Conception, the narrator and her classmates would have their lovely Virgin doll be without sin or flaw. This...

...Pilates was invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 1920s. Although the original vision was to help men and serious athletes, it is a great exercise regimen for anyone. Here are some of the reasons why : 1. Equipment is optional Pilates can be done with no equipment. This makes it perfect for people just starting out who are reluctant to allot scads of money and space to something "unproven" in their eyes. But, you can add equipment later. This means it can grow with you. As you get better, it can get more varied and challenging. This helps keep it fresh. 2. It focuses on your core The strength and stability of your core back and abdominal muscles impacts every single thing you do. These muscles are critical to sitting, standing and getting...

...Two highly acclaimed movies Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ” and Spielberg’s “Saving private Ryan” have been praised and criticized for graphic reality looked at in very different ways. The one thing that sticks out the most for me is the realism and deep emotional feel both movies bring to the audience. The cinematography and stories of each movie had a luring effect of pulling a person in to the scene and the event, making you feel the moment as if we were in it. The two movie scenes are the backbone of both stories and received the majority of criticism; being positive or negative depending on the movie. The Gibson film received negative criticism for the brutal beating Jesus endured on the last days of his life. The Spielberg film was praised for its violent depiction of an equally graphic scene of death and dismemberment, but felt with less anxiety because violence in war movies is expected and tolerated. The Gibson film comes under attack for the graphic nature of the beating Jesus received. The feelings of sadness and overwhelming helplessness come over the audience during the long and over dramatic brutality to one man “Jesus Christ.” We have been taught throughout history that Jesus died for us, making it personal because we feel we know him. The scene of Jesus` beating shows realism that most cannot believe a sadness that cannot be shaken or a helplessness that cannot be taken back. Up to the point in time, before “The Passion of Christ” was made people never had to...
