...Health Assessment Case Study Introduction The focus of this case study is to examine further focused assessments that should be undertaken after Mr S's initial presentation of acute exacerbation of asthma. Reasoning for recommended focused assessments will be discussed with consideration of Mr S's presentation of symptoms, history, pathophysiology and risk factors for asthma exacerbation. Research on current asthma assessment protocols will guide recommendations, and assessment parameters will be described. Follow up care and self-management options for Mr S will also be explored. Asthma Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the lungs. It is characterised by airflow obstruction and lung inflammation (Johnson, 2010). Asthma symptoms include wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and cough (Johnson, 2010). Potential triggers for asthma include allergens, viral respiratory infections, irritants, stimuli such as cold air or exercise and gastro-oesophageal reflux (Estes et al, 2013). Airway obstruction in asthmatics is variable and reversible. However poorly managed asthma can leave lasting structural changes in the cells and tissues of the lower respiratory tract, resulting in airway remodelling and permanent fibrotic damage (Kaufman, 2011). There is currently no cure for asthma, therefore the disease needs to be managed (NACA, 2014). Pathophysiology and assessment parameters It is important to understand the underlying pathophysiology of Mr Saunders’ presentation...

To make the risks more easily viewable, it is preferable to divide the risks into different sections and via that use the Risk Breakdown Structure, (RBS).There are four general categories that the risks are divided into: Technical, External, Organizational and Project Management. ...9 -9 1 1 -4 1 2 REV: MAY 28, 2012 Assessing a Company’s Future Financial Health Assessing the long-term financial health of a company is an important task for management as it formulates goals and strategies and for outsiders as they consider the extension of credit, long-term supplier agreements, or an investment in a company’s equity. History abounds with examples of companies that embarked on overly ambitious programs and subsequently discovered that their portfolios of programs could not be financed on acceptable terms. The outcome was frequently the abandonment of programs mid-stream at considerable financial, organizational, and human cost. It is the responsibility of management to anticipate a future imbalance in the corporate financial system before its severity is reflected in the financials, and to consider corrective action before both time and money are exhausted. The avoidance of bankruptcy is an insufficient standard. Management must ensure the continuity of the flow of funds to all of its strategically important programs, even in periods of adversity. Figure A provides a conceptualization of the corporate financial system, with a suggested step-bystep process to assess whether it will remain in balance over the ensuing 3 to 5 years. The remainder of this note discusses each of the steps in the process and then provides an exercise on the various financial measures that are useful as part of the analysis. The final section of the note demonstrates ...

...also take a look at the compensation the company may provide to the separated employee and create a chart to depict the timeline of the disbursement of the compensation. Last, I will predict three ways the layoff may affect the company. Three ways to cope with negative emotions Managers may have distinctive reactions to layoffs because they are mediators and receivers of change. “Their reactions are important because they can affect employee morale. Employees pay close attention to manager’s behaviors and messages they send out. The first way to cope with negative emotions is to thoroughly communicate (Dewitt, Trevino, & Monica, Spring 2003)”. The second way to cope with negative emotions is by providing help. Have an outplacement program in place that will help displaced employees create a...
