Success model has 5 main elements that are very important in the professional life. Starting with Professionalism that means the conduct, aims or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Another element is respect which is to act in a way which shows that you are aware of someone rights and wishes. Integrity is the quality of being honest and fair. Caring is to feel interest or concern, to give care. Finally, the last of the elements engagement which is an arrangement to meet or be present at a specified time and place, a job or period of employment especially as a performer. In my class we been talking about this elements using group participation. In this group works you have to integrate these elements to achieve the goal you want to complete and integrate them with others. Also in the class we discussed the importance of these elements and how to use them in the work environment. Every time when we put this in practice the results are better. These elements are very meaningful to me because we have to put them in practice in a daily basis when you are doing something and also in the personal life. In addition, these elements help you to be a better person to your own and to others. This will benefit myself in the process of learning and shaping my behaviors in the future to develop a growth mindset in terms we see thing in life. All these elements can be used in the workplace, starting with professionalism that is demonstrated when you use a good communication and know how to talk to coworkers and supervisor. In the workplace you show respect for others for example: being always on time, and talking with respect when exchanging different opinions. The employees maintain integrity when together they work to achieve a goal and also always following the rules and policies. Showing care to coworkers and customer is always a positive attitude that builds relationships with honest communications. I am able to demonstrate that I’m engaged with my responsibilities and customers, at the same time I maintain a growth mindset. Being an agent of positive change by supporting positive community events or work events. When we think about been successful at work, we think in many positive characteristic a good leader should possess in order to succeed. But something people possess negative behaviors that don’t help in the process of learning new things. “A scotoma is the medical term for a blind spot. A blind spot is a darker or dimmer spot within a person’s field of vision. In psychology, scotoma is often used to describe a trait or behavior an affected person does not see” (Bingham, 2009). Sometimes people possess this blind spots that do not let them see further than what they have in front of them. People with low self-esteem do things that they can think it is good, but they can’t see that this behaviors can discourage others. Obsessive negative thinking is one of this negative behaviors. It’s very hard been surround by negative people or people that refuses to let go of negativity. This type of people does not grow as human beings and do not help others to grow. They take everything too personally, people are toxic to be around when they believe that everything happening around them is a direct assault on them or is in some way all about them. Being envious of everyone else, envy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own. A person who is envy is always competing, thinks that everything that surround him/her is a competition and can’t measure their own progress because are paying attention to everything else. Another toxic behavior will be acting like you are always a victim. Everything is a complaining that fuels your sense of victimization. They believe that they have no power to exert and no power over direction of your life is another way of been stuck. In addition, I must mention lack of emotional self- control, an inability to manage your emotions. We know that these people explode in anger or in tears. Always something bothers them, they feel that nothing is going in the correct way. Additionally, I should mention laziness, if you want to achieve great things you must work hard. Been lazy or expect that other do what you should do is a negative behavior that will not lead you to progress in anything that you plan to do in life. You must be passionate about what you do.

Essay On Culture Of Success

...Is the way people see others partly based on the social class that they fall in? Does it affect a person's feelings on success and the value of seeking out higher forms of education? Does success mean more than one thing, and how does a person know when they have achieved success? This issue has been bounced around throughout society and no one seems to be able to pinpoint exactly what the problem is and where it begins. That is what the authors of these papers are trying to determine, what is the link between social class and success. How is the way a person sees success a factor in obtaining that success and what is the cause for these people to go after it. What causes one person's failure while another one succeeds. Brink Lindsey believes that the reason for the more educated or higher class having more success is the fact that they are more motivated by their parents before them than anyone in the lower class. In Lindsey’s paper “Culture of Success” he tries to determine where this divide starts. He starts the paper by saying, “Something is holding back lower-income Americans from going to college. It’s not that there aren’t major incentives for them to go” (Lindsey 1). What Lindsey is saying is that the...

Define Success Definition Essay

...Definition of Success Throughout Life In the Meriam Webster dictionary, success is defined as a favorable or desired outcome (Success). Despite this, success’s perceived meaning is accomplishing one’s goals or making one’s dreams a reality. It is important to note that one’s personal definition of success can determine one’s maturity and ideals. However, on a personal level success is tricky to define as it changes through one’s life. Another bump in defining success is that it is different for every individual. It largely depends on the circumstances of one’s upbringing as well. For a child, success is generally small scale and achievable in a single day. One example is their ability to convince their parents to buy them toys. Friendship is also a big way they define success. How much they learn in elementary and preschool is how they might define success as well. Throughout a child’s early life, this small view of success is largely uniform and does not expand until they enter high school. Success’s definition changes and starts to vary from person to person for the first time when they enter high school. For the scholarly, academics determine whether they are a success. Others, namely the athletes, define success as how well they do in sports. Finally, there are the nerdy who define success, as having more...

Definition Of Success Essay

...In this modern world, everyone wants to be successful. From the poor to the rich, everyone seeks success in the name of improving their lives and those of the ones they love. Despite the constant chasing everyone does for success, it is quite hard for people to clearly define and measure “success”. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary alone states three different definitions for the word, the first is “the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect and fame”, the second is “the correct or desired result of an attempt”, and the third definition being “someone or something that is successful: a person or thing that succeeds”. From this, we can garner the information that success is indeed difficult to precisely measure and put into simple terms. However, I personally think that success can generally be measured by your financial wealth....

Definition Essay: What Is Success?

...What is success? People generally define it as a financial status; you do well in college, find a job and make a lot of money. I believe success doesn't value the amount of money, rather it values the amount of effort you put into attaining what you want and showing/spreading happiness. Money is redundant in success. You can be a person living in the streets and still successful. In order to be successful, you have to be devoted. Some people think success is just given to random people. This is a lie. People work up to success, it's not something you can just get out of the blue. There will be many failures, and that is okay. It is about being able to learn from them and climb the mountain with more knowledge. Another characteristic...

Failure Is Not Daunting

...Er Summary/Response Essay Failure is not Daunting Undoubtedly, nearly all of us want to become successful, advance up our career ladders and attain better social ranking, so our vocabulary repertoire does not comprise the concept of failure. At schools, teachers lay great stress on the significance of academic achievement. In the field of popular psychology, many books like 99 Steps or Tips for Accomplishment are written about how people achieve success. Even though numerous people pay attention to the value of success especially in this Era of Knowledge, saying “failure is a good thing” astonishes me. In Jon Carroll’s article, “Failure is a Good Thing”, he asserts that failure is a beginning, not the end of the world. Failure is how we learn, that is, failure is a natural part of our learning process and a proof that we are trying. Carroll also contends that success is boring since it becomes tedious after a while because of not feeding the soul and keeping us from risking and trying new things. Most of us fear failure, but failure and believing in the possibility of it offer some oppurtunities: It encourages creativity, provides us with new beginnings, and reminds us of being human. First of all, fault is an important teacher that promotes innovation as Jon Carroll connotated. Some of our most memorable lessons come from the stories of our biggest mistakes. The history books are full of those who failed repeatedly before reaching the zenith of success in their fields: Abraham...

Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers

...Story of Success, Gladwell challenges a reader’s perception of, well…success. In the book, he shifts the reader’s prior basic understanding of success and focuses instead on all the hidden, underlying biases and correlations of success. He proposed the notion that the month one was born in can separate the great athletes from the average, that how high your IQ is may not actually matter as much as many people are lead to believe it does, and that a number can be put on the amount of time one would need to practice in order to become proficient in a particular skill. Yet another example to add to the previously mentioned list of unfair advantages in the road to success, it has been found in numerous studies that even one's name can affect things ranging from your salary to how others can perceive you in general. When going after a job or promotion in any professional American setting, not only would one have to fulfill the asked of requirements, one must look the part and even sound the part. According to a study conducted by TheLadders, an online job matching site, every extra letter in a person’s first name may lead to a reduction in that person’s annual salary by $3,600. In the grand scheme of things, that’s a lot of lost money just for having a few extra letters in one's name. By this logic, there’s no wonder why many people in the business field opt to go by nicknames such as a William to a Bill or even just from a...
