Lo respaldo con lo siguiente : “ One of the indians carried my poor wounded babe upon a horse; it went moaning all alone, “I shall die, I shall die.” I went on foot after eat, with sorrow that can not ve expressed” (pp. 130-131 ).

Regarding the second poem I chose was the Phillis Wheatleys "On Being brough from Africa to America" it is a historical content and inspiration. I admit I am not very knowledgeable about the subject, but when you read one carefully recreates the life of Wheatley and looks like it to be free in their country was abruptly taken to be sold as a slave in a totally different country where she did not know. Its negative and sad situation she took to be released to demonstrate proficiency in a second language for her which was strange. Thus he devoted himself to writing poetry which helped her break free from their bondage. "Their color is a diabolic die"(pp.401-403) is a way to break the expectations of social inequality by race, color or ideology that recreates the label people by appearances without giving him a chance to prove which they are or can contribute to society.

...Violent Video Games August 2, 2014 English Composition Do violent video games led to children having more violence in their lives, and their behaviors? Since the “Grand Theft Auto” games have come out many more kids are getting into trouble for crimes that they shouldn’t. Many kids these days are playing video games to stay out of their parents’ way and to keep them entertained for the summer while there is no school. “Since 2008 they are estimated to be playing at least 13.2 hours a week.” (http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/video-game-violence.htm) That sure is a lot of time on playing video games. As the level of violence in the video games is getting worse so are the children’s attitudes and behaviors. Children and violent video games are not a good combination; the more a kid plays violent video games the more their way of getting their anxiety out turns to attacking something instead of throwing a fit. According to the American Psychological Association violent video games can increase the children’s aggression. Also, violent video games do not teach children moral consequences, for example while playing these games if you shoot someone you do not go to jail ( like in real life ) you get extra points in the games. Come to find out it’s not just children that we need to be concerned about, teenagers also. Teenagers are at their growing points. Part of playing these games is for kids to learn and improve their manual dexterity and computer literacy. But with all...

...Violent Video Games Should not be Banned By Chris Taylor Com/156 Effective Persuasive Essay August 1, 2010 Violent Video Games should not be Banned Violent video games that promote violence and criminal activity should not be banned because each game is properly labeled. It is the parent’s responsibility to monitor their children on what games they play and for how long they play the games. Numerous surveys have been taken that show games can enhance certain learning abilities and not cause violence. Violent video games are meant for adults and banning these games takes away the right of freedom of expression from the adult. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) provides concise and impartial information about the content in computer and video games so parents can make a clear informed purchase. (www.esrb.org/ratings) ESRB provides ratings for each game that is distributed. These ratings have two equal parts: Rating symbols and content descriptors. Rating symbols on the front of the package provide age limits on who should be allowed to play the game. Age appropriateness is clearly marked and those younger than that should be monitored. The rating system used is the same system that TV shows and movies use to rate their content. Content descriptors which are located on the back of the package indicate elements in a game. These descriptors are C (early childhood), E (for everyone), E 10+ (everyone 10+), T (for teens), M (mature 17+), A (adults only)...

...Violent Video Games In the article Violent Video Games Increase Aggression Long After the Game is Turned Off (Sep. 20, 2010) it states that (Playing a violent video game can increase aggression, and when a player keeps thinking about the game, the potential for aggression can last for as long as 24 hours, according to a study in the current Social Psychological and Personality Science.) So playing a violent video game and then continuing to think about it, i.e. Thinking of ways to improve your game play or the way the animation looked an so forth, can lead to stronger aggression as long as a day even after you have shut the game off. (Sep 2010) The article also states that violent video game playing has long been known to increase aggression. This study, conducted by Brad Bushman of the Ohio State University and Bryan Gibson of Central Michigan University, shows that at least for men, ruminating about the game can increase the potency of the games tendency to lead to aggression long after the game has been turned off. The researchers randomly assigned college students to play one of six different video games for 20 minutes. Half of the games were violent and half were not. To test if ruminating about the game would extend the games affect, half of the players were told over “the next 24 hours, think about your play of the game, and try to identify ways your game play could improve when you play again.” (B.J Bushman, B. Gibson, Sep. 2010) According to this study it seems...

...I hate violent video games and they should be banned and never sold again. Violent video games should be banned because what if a little kid was playing on it and something inappropriate shows up on there that there parent’s wouldn’t want them to see. Do you want your kids doing inappropriate things? Some games have a lot of violence in it like fighting and swearing. If the kid’s watch that they will be threatening and acting like it’s cool to do it. Some kid’s will think stupidly to do it because there brains force them to and at the end they act like anything didn’t happen and think it’s funny, but they will always’ face consequences and there parent’s would find out someway and there kids will be in a lot of trouble. Would you like it if your kid went around and started to threaten others?” Elder children are not always responsible enough to grow up. Some would show little kid’s what they’ve learnt from a violent video game. I f they had a little bro or sis they would convince the kid to come over to his house to play a game that is totally violent and then they will get addicted to it and will be playing it till the cop’s are looking around for him/her because there parent’s are worried. Do you want your kid to get addicted to violent video games? When kids go to school they won’t want to learn because they are worrying to much about playing games after school. There thinking wouldn’t be as good as it was if they weren’t thinking about games. They wouldn’t even...

...Brysun D. Patrick Patrick 1 Mrs.collins Debate 1 11-19-2013 Violent Video Games Have you ever played a violent video game before; if you have then you know about the violence in it, if you haven’t then you don’t really know why people want to ban these games. It’s not really violent it’s like the excess blood and cussing and all of the different types of guns. For example , call of duty is a type of game where it is violent but it teaches children about the army so if they do go into the army they will know what to expect , like when they go into captivity they will know how to escape and go to get help. I could understand why they would want to ban these games with what I read from my source in the paper called” Zimecki”, it was telling me how a group of five young men in 1995 torched a subway station in Brooklyn, NY. There in another source call was knur it was saying that if you’re calling video games violent then you calling T.V. and cartoon shows violent and other things violent on TV My other sources on Google images is when two men are sitting in jail talking and one says “ sure I’m violent but it is cartoonish violence”. What he is saying is that he watched cartoons and saw something violent and went and did it and he went to jail for doing that. For example one of my class mate was saying that she read this news article and she said that a boy had went and bought the new call of duty and his dad took it from him so he went and bought another one and...

Kids these days think that it’s okay to do what they want to do and act the way they want to act because of the video games that they have been allowed to play. Brutal games aren’t acceptable to young kids and parents tend to purchase it anyways. Parents don’t think about how the game can affect them in the long run. They only think about the present and not how harmful the game can affect their brain. The cruel games doesn’t show kids that they have boundaries and that they can get away everything. ...I will talking to you about age restrictions in violent video games, and why they should be raised. After students Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris opened fire in their Colorado high school in 1999 -- shooting 20 people and killing 13 -- Linda Sanders filed a lawsuit. Her husband was a teacher at Columbine and among the dead. The media revealed that Harris and Klebold played a lot of violent video games, including "Wolfenstein 3D," "Doom," and "Mortal Kombat." Linda Sanders named multiple video game publishers, including Sony and Nintendo, in the suit as well as Time Warner and Palm Pictures since the shooters had apparently watched "The Basketball Diaries," in which a character uses a shotgun to kill students at his high school. In today's ultra-violent media world, it appears there's plenty of blame to go around. But is it legitimate? As of 2001, roughly 79 percent of America's youth played video games, many of them for at least eight hours a week Beyond the obvious issues of concern, like "what happened to riding bikes around the neighborhood," there are bigger questions. Many people wonder how this type of exposure to violence as an adolescent effects social behavior. The rise in dramatically violent shootings by teenagers, many of whom apparently play violent video games, is helping the argument that video game violence translates into real-world situations. But other people aren't convinced and insist that video games are a scapegoat for a shocking social trend that has...

Do Violent Video Games Make a Person Violent?

...Do Violent Video Games Make A Person Violent? Violent video games have been evolving for years. The first violent video game to ever be released was Death Race made in 1976 (Suddath). This game brought a controversy that would follow all video games for years to come. Although many people say that violent video games cause a person to become violent, many people will argue that violent video games do not cause a person to be violent. Both sides of the “violent-video-game” argument, examples to both points being made, and who should not play violent video games will be analyzed or examined in order to determine the effects of gaming. First, many people believe that violent video games do not cause violence. People believe that violence in video games is the cause of violence, but most video games depict and reflect the real world (Rynne). The world is full of violence, and it was full of violence long before video games started to make their way to popularity. People will counter this point and say that violent video games bring stabbing, shooting, running people over, drugs, alcohol, theft, etc… into people’s lives, but if a person turns the television to a news station, he/she will see all of the same things. War games depict wars in other countries, Grand Theft Auto reflects how people in bad neighborhoods can act, and medieval games give people and understanding about the past. People will say that because of these games mass murders will evolve; for example, Sandy...

Violent Video Games And Simulated Violence

...Do you know anybody who plays violent video games? When you are around them are you afraid of them? Does every person who play violent video games end up killing or harming people? I strongly believe that there isn’t a direct relationship with people who play violent video games and people who are violent. Video games that promote violence have two different aspects; one is that they teach how to shoot guns and stab people. But, people don’t realize that video games are a good outlet to get out anger and clear minds. In the article “Parents Who are Horrified by Real Violence are Drowning their Children in Simulated Violence,” the author of the article wanted to point out that “the player is in control of every move. This is not like watching a movie; it’s like controlling one.” This made me think of two things, at first I thought that the author was trying to say that it is bad for the players to be in control of the moves and the flow of the game. But, I then thought that it could teach players to take control of their own lives like they took control of the game. I believe that watching violence and playing simulated violent video games are basically the same thing. Real life violence shows scenarios of terrible things happening such as shootings in schools, terrorist attacks, wars, and many more. Playing simulated violent video games does not...

...Violent video games cause violent behaviour so they should be banned With computer technology quickly evolving gamers are now able to have a much more realistic experience when playing video games than they would get 5 years ago, and with these major improvements we have also seen a rise in the popularity of games which can be described as violent, disturbing and brutal. This rise in popularity has also lead to some controversy. Experts and especially parents believe that some games are way too violent for kids to be exposed to and think that something should be done to regulate the sale of these kinds of games. Gamers (including kids) believe in none of this, in fact they may even sometimes see violent video games were the must beat, attack and kill their opponents as a way of releasing violent urges, is this not a great way of releasing your anger, in a digital world? If parents don’t think so then there are many other, although they may include destroying the house or causing fist fights in the playground. Personally I view violent video games, not just as a way of distracting myself and having fun, but I also find it kind of therapeutic, I am able release all the anger and anguish which tends to built up over the day, for me it is an essential necessity.
