... the company will conduct a statistical analysis of the results of the questionnaires returned by its customers. Through this analysis, Ford Motor Company will be able to identify challenges that the company faces as well as the steps needed to reduce these challenges and improving both the company’s product and image. Statistical Analysis The results gathered from the questionnaire immensely helped Ford understand new aspects of an improved Hybrid vehicle. Subject 1 was the owner of a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Subject 1 has had 4 scheduled maintenance jobs performed on the car in the past year. On average, Subject 1 only drove 100 miles per week. Usually, scheduled maintenance is performed depending on the gas mileage of the car i.e. oil changes, tire rotation and balance, etc. Subject 1 took good care of their car over the past year, but still had two serious additional car problems. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid costs Subject 1 on average $127.06 a week in gasoline. This customer is only satisfied at level 3. Being that this is only a three year old car, these problems point to inefficiencies with manufacturing. Both are costly for the owner to replace. Subject 2 is the owner of a 2012 Toyota Prius. Scheduled maintenance was performed on the car 3 times within the last year with no additional repairs required. With one stop for gas within the week, they are able to cover their 100 mile average week for only $43.20. They are satisfied with the economy of their vehicle at...

...THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES CAVE HILL CAMPUS Faculty of Social Sciences Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology PSYC3022: RESEARCH PROJECT IN APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY Parental Influence: Implications for the Prevention Of Early Childhood Obesity Abstract The overall purpose of this study was to investigate whether parents serve as role models in influencing their children’s weight-related behaviours. Participants were 60 random parents of children from Barbados. Unlike previous research studies, the correlation analyses of this study indicated that the junk food or fast foods children consumed was negatively associated with the amount of income made by the parents or their education level. Although it was found that some children do model their parents’ behaviour when it comes to healthy food choices, the findings show that parents do not enforce the healthy eating practices unto their children. This study did not support the theory that children model adult eating behaviours on their own. Parental Influence: Implications for the Prevention Of Early Childhood Obesity Some researchers in public health have concluded that the problem of early childhood obesity has reached near-epidemic proportions (Deckelbaum & Williams 2001; Puhl & Latner 2007). The problem of early childhood obesity and overweight appears to be on-going without implementation of early detection and prevention...

Here in the third week of the needs assessment being conducted on behalf of our client BJ’s a division of Walmart Inc., the focus surrounds the collection and its analysis. Following the collection of data and a meeting was held with BJ’s management and a recommendation was made based on this analysis. ...Title The effect of adolescents’ participation in sports towards their self-esteem INTRODUCTION Background As we all know, people who do more sport activities can improve the physical health and mental health. Over half of the respondents failed the standard of the ‘baseline indicator’ of physical activity level (Hong Kong Government, 2009). The standard of Baseline indicator is defined by National Association of Sport and Physical Education and US Center for Disease Control. For adolescents conducted at least three days per week and for at least 20 minutes a day of moderate physical activity (Hui, et al, 2009). However, only 60% of adolescents in Hong Kong doing the exercise at least 20 minutes of moderate physical in three days per week in 2008 (LCSD, 2011).It is worthwhile to compare with low participation sport, middle participation sport and high participation sport. Adolescents’ self-esteem is another key of the phenomenon which is needed to focus on. Hong Kong children regarded as lack of confidence. Chan (2000) explored nearly half of 360 children have lower self-esteem, 31% with medium level of self-esteem and 22% represented higher. Moreover, YMCA associated with the Guangzhou City, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Research Institute (2001) claimed that 40% of secondary school students in Hong Kong ‘fail’ in self-confidence because Hong Kong society emphasis on academic achievement more than extracurricular activities. It is worthwhile to examine whether...

...RESEARCH PROPOSAL ON EXPLORING THE EFFECT OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES ON SPORTS PARTICIPATION Introduction This research paper has the intension to investigate the effect of the Olympic Games on sport participation especially for primary school children. This paper will identify the target population, the sampling methods used, methods of data collection and methods of administration. Thus help the city of Edinburgh council to have a general picture of following points: 1) Provide a detailed mapping of the current level of sports participation and the intention for the future 2) Identify the aspects of the games that have been most memorable/ produced greatest impression 3) Explore potential association between impressions from the games and future sports activities. The council is concerned that the findings should be representative of the Edinburgh school children in general, and suggests that age, gender, existing level of sports engagement being important predictors of research result. To generalize from the sample to the population, the sample has to be representative of the population. Observation before the survey I plan to begin with exploratory qualitative techniques: observation of selected primary students to understand the problem and bringing to the surface issues in the research project. This activity often help crystallize the problem or otherwise open the researcher’s eyes to factors and considerations that might be overlooked if he rushed into a full-scale survey. The...
