...Are you a bully, victim or a bystander? People are to scared to stand up to bullying, which causes them to do bad things to themselves. But people around the world are now taking a stand. There are different ways to bully a person. Bullying has gone to far and people are to scared to stand up for themselves, this has to be fixed. The first reason is that bullying can cause people to be very ill and that can be very dangerous. For example, the article "Bullying: are we defenseless?" by USA Today, according to the text it states, "She had suffered a failed romance that brought her into conflict with a female classmate. She had reportedly sunken into a fog of drugs and alcohol. And most sickeningly, even as she lay dying in the hospital, the...

He really doesn’t know much about Trump but he heard his friends saying it so in his mind that is his opinion too. Anger: He HATES our president. He always says how he hates our president, how the whole election was a scam, and how none of the candidates were even good. He thinks this because he hates everything. Allie: I think that our new president is ok. I haven’t seen him do anything bad yet, so I think that so far he is ok. I know that a lot of people don’t like him, but I think that he is ok. Also I’m a republican so I like that he is a republican too....

...Introduction Background Information: Bullying has been an ongoing problem for many years, it can occur in the workplace, school, or online. Although this can happen anywhere, I will discuss bullying in the school and the measures being taking to prevent it. In Dake, Price, and Telljohann, they state that in the past three decades, school bullying gained increased attention in the United States due to media attention on homicide and suicide cases where bullying was a precipitating factor (Dake, Price, and Telljohann, 2003). The US Secret Service investigated characteristics of students involved in school shootings in the United States. During the Secret Service’s research, they found 37 different school shootings, two-thirds involved attackers who "felt persecuted, bullied, threatened, attacked, or injured by others prior to the incident". While two-thirds of the cases did not directly involve school bullying, "a number of the attackers had experienced bullying and harassment that was longstanding and severe. In those cases, the experience of bullying appeared to play a major role in motivating the attack at the school (US Secret Service, 2000)”. Ethics is another factor to consider when thinking about bullying and its effects on the victims. Burke and Richer break down behavior into two groups. Clearly wrong and conditionally wrong, of the two clearly wrong would be the proper fit for the topic that I am discussing. Clearly wrong includes behaviors which are so widely viewed...

...Cyber Bullying StopCyberbullying.org, an expert group on internet safety defines cyber bullying as: "a situation when a child, tween or teen is repeatedly 'tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted' by another child or teenager using text messaging, email, instant messaging or any other type of digital technology.” It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been initiated by a child against another child. Once adults become involved, it is cyber harassment or cyber stalking. Adult cyber harassment or cyber stalking is never called cyber bullying. The way a child does this bullying is only limited by their imagination and their access to technology, and the cyber bully one moment could become the victim the next. It has been suggested by the BBC that cyber-bullying may be influenced by videos that are uploaded to video sharing websites online, which contain offensive content or examples of acts of bullying. Websites that currently do not filter such videos, such as YouTube, have been asked to take legal action against videos of people being attacked, harassed or ridiculed, in order to reduce cyber bullying as a result. The kids often change roles, going from victim to bully and back again. Cyber bullying is usually not a one-time thing, unless it includes a death threat or a threat that would do serious bodily harm. Children have even killed each other and committed suicide after being involved in a cyber bullying incident...

...Bullying is when someone uses words to hurt you. Bullying is wrong no matter what they do. There are many consequences associated with bullying. It is necessary to report bullying when it happens. To begin, bullying is when someone calls others names. According to the text “Bullies On Sesame Street” (Achieve3000), Big Bird wants to join the club, but the leader didn't let him join the club so he changed. He still didn't get in, so he did his own club. This remind me of a kid named Brian wanted to join a club but the leader named Michael didn't let him because he wasn't too smart later he created one an he was the smartest. Another example that bullying is wrong is that they could hurt the victims, and their feelings....

...Bullying Special Needs Children in the Classroom Special needs children are very dear to my heart. My mom is a mental health therapist and seeing what she does, helping young teens with special needs, has made me want to follow in her footsteps. I am majoring in Communications to be a speech therapist for children with special disabilities such as Down syndrome. Such children are targeted for bullying for various reasons like size, behavior sexual orientation, or their appearance. Bullying affects students and their once in a lifetime social and school experiences. It can degenerate a child’s performance, self-esteem, and future efforts. The day we treat all bullying the same, is the day when school settings will become safer. Speech and language therapists manage people who have disorders with speech, language, communication, and also swallowing in adults and children. Speech and language therapists (SLTs) are relative health professionals who work with parents, teachers, nurses, and many more. They work in certain areas such as hospital wards, clients ‘homes, prisons, and the list goes on. SLT’s also work closely with babies who have difficulty swallowing and feeding. SLTs also work with children who have mild, moderate or severe learning difficulties and voice disorders such as Down syndrome. They also work with adults who have communication or eating and swallowing problems following neurological impairments and degenerative conditions, including stroke, head injury, Parkinson's...

...over the world hear on a day to day basis. Bullying is a worldwide epidemic (Kalman) that kids from all ages have to deal with. There may be laws in place, but if you ask me they are not really doing their job. The laws may prohibit bullying, but they don’t address the problems that bullying causes such as suicide, mental problems, family problems, and school neglect. Studies say about 77% of student’s are bullied everyday weather it’s verbally or physically(Bullying Statistics), and about 14% of those students suffer from psychological problems(Bullying Statistics); like low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and even suicide(Bullying Statistics). Each day 160,000 students miss school because they’re afraid of being bullied(Bullying Statistics), also 1 out of 10 high school students drop out of school because they were bullied(How to stop Bullying). Schools often say they want to decrease the dropout rate, well if they take the time to acknowledge the bullying problem some of the numbers would decrease.. Not only does bullying affect the body, but it affects the mind as well. In 2002 at least 15 school children from the ages 11 to 14 committed suicide (Jeff Lett), and in 2005 270 school children from the ages 10 to 14 committed suicide (Jeff Lett). Every day children go to school with a constant fear. School should be a safe lace not a place of torture. Many students find school as a safe get away from home, but with the constant bullying they go from one bad place to another. This...

...Online Bullying In the 21st century, with the popularity of computer, Internet has become an integral part of people’s daily lives. A variety of online communities, such as Bulletin Board System and face book, have also risen. Those online communities are designed to provide a platform for users to exchange messages with each other. We benefit a lot from the convenience that brought by them. Through all kinds of online communities, we can help each other with our own experience, share our knowledge, and get to know new friends who have the same interests with us without the restriction of geography. Those online communities have made the world a smaller place for us. However, along with the benefits, online communities have also brought many problems to our lives. One of the most noteworthy problems is online bullying. Because of internet’s particular feature — information online can be spread so fast that a hurtful note can be seen by many people in a very short time —it was often used as a tool for bullying. As the phenomenon of online bullying has become worse and worse over time, more and more attention has been attracted from the whole society these days. To eliminate this problem, or at least to decrease the frequency of its occurrence and alleviate the seriousness of its consequences, I think we should begin to work on these three aspects: the protection for victims, the education to teens, and the instruction for parents about how to lead their children to overcome...

...Bullying is very wrong but some people mistake bullying for something else for instance if someone teases you once they think that that’s bullying but it’s not bullying, bullying is when one or multiple verbally abuse you or constantly physically abuse you, But in most cases bullying is very wrong and there should be human dignity in everyone. Bullying and Human dignity are to completely different things there is no Human dignity in Bullying. I hope that we can stop bullying in every place that someone doesn't show human dignity and that everyone can just get along and brings out the good human dignity in everyone. The definition of human dignity is to be nice to won and another and to pretty much be nice and respectful to one another. Matthew said in the bible “So in everything, do to others the same way you would like to be treated”. Matthew: 7.12. This is the golden rule it pretty much tells us what human dignity is and how we can use it in everyday life....

...Bullying….Change Karly Turner SOC 312 Child, Family, & Society Instructor: Yvette Morelon July 5, 2015 Bullying takes place everywhere. There is not one specific place where you will see it. It is seen in schools, work places, and public places. When you have someone that is making an effort to make a change, it is a cry for help. This person has come to realize that what they are doing is something that is not right. When this person knows that they need help everything needs to be done to make sure that this person gets all the help that they need to make them better. Someone who is a bully can change, it has to be up to them, to be able to make themselves better. There are a lot of times that it may be difficult to figure out who or what the bullying is. “During elementary school years, children depend on each other companionship, advice and self-validation, (Bojczyk, Shiner, & Shiner, 2012). Having an activity that will show the students how to prevent bullying and how not to become a bully is a great activity. As children mature into adults, they will often reflect back upon their lives and see what could have changed. It is often helpful to receive advice from others. The looking glass self refers to how people may think of others. A persons looking glass self is greatly impacted on of the agents of socialization are perceived or how a person thinks these agents of socialization perceive them. In Antonio’s case, he describes himself as a bully. He states...

...According to an annual cyber bullying report, seven out of ten young people reported that they feel they are a victim to cyber bullying. (nobullying.com) With cyber bullying increasing rapidly with the growth of technology, it brings up many questions to whether or not this is an issue. Many people say things online that they would not normally say in person. These things are typically hurtful to the person on the receiving end. Is it morally justifiable to text messages or post comments online that one would not consider acceptable to say in person? Many would argue that is morally justifiable because cyber-bullying does not inflict any physical harm, and it is not as harmful to somebody saying things through technology as it is in person....

...Deviance: Bullying Deborah A. Wilson Professor Emmanuel O. Obi SOC 100: Introduction to Sociology 15 February 2016 Social Control and Criminal Deviance: Bullying Out of seven possible choices, the most important step I believe would be step 3, “selecting the appropriate method” in order to analyze the data correctly. By selecting the wrong method research, it could lead you down the path that would give you too many variables and the wrong conclusion. In the case of analyzing bullying, I think the use of “participant observation” method would be more advantageous because the tester is afforded an opportunity to actually live the life as an active participate and also be able to have a detached observation especially in our case bullying. Most people know or have heard of bullying within the school, sports, mass media, by peers, at work, even in religion and by family but the latter is the one that is the least acknowledged or reported. Where do we think bullying starts or is learned first? Most times it is at home in the family between siblings or from mother to daughter or father to son or even children to parents. In these cases, the word used is not bullying but other words that are less damaging consequently sibling rivalry or just being boys, sometimes personality conflicts. What happens when your family are bullies? Even in the household, it is very common for siblings to pick on each other but at what point is it just playful antics or classified as bullying. The...

...you should know how bullying feels like. Bullying is very negative and creates major problems for our society. Nothing good comes out of bullying. It could very well change or ruin a person’s life. In fact, it does ruin many people’s lives. Kids can be mentally scarred if they are teased often. Even worse, they could be killed or fatally injured if the bullying gets extreme. There are many causes for bullying which must be taken care of before bullying can be stopped. As well, cooperation from childrens’ parents is important, some parents actually encourage their children to fight to look cool or don’t teach them properly. Kids must take their own initiative, as well, they must find out what’s wrong and what’s right for...
