...Counter to Christian end time theology, promoted by popular books and movies, there will not be an evil man over a ten nation confederacy, ruling the entire world at the second coming of Yeshua. There will not even be a seven year tribulation. We will have no warning of the imminent destruction of the planet Earth. In Luke 17:26-30, Yeshua said, the end will be like the Days of Noah and Lot. Christian theologians completely miss the mark when interpreting the prophecies in the Bible. They try to apply the mysteries of the Book of Revelation and the Book of Daniel as future events relating to the world as a whole. But the first step in correctly understanding Biblical prophecy is recognizing that prophesy is all about Israel and Judah. Another disadvantage Christian theologians suffer is their lack of knowledge concerning Israel and Judah. Christian theologians are unaware that most of the prophecies in Revelation and Daniel are fulfilled, with the evidence being, Jewish history. Some theologians might call my views Preterism, a Christian belief that...

...THEOLOGY OF WORSHIP ___________________ A Paper Presented to Dr. Timothy J. Ralston Dallas Theological Seminary ___________________ In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Course PM302 – Pastoral Theology and Leadership II ___________________ By Kevin Goldsmith May 30, 2011 Box #640 THEOLOGY OF WORHSIP Introduction Worship has been around since the creation to recognize the Creator, and is extremely important to the church. “Worship is the single activity that both unifies and transcends time.”1 However, the method in which the believer has worshipped God has changed and looks different. So one must ask the question, what is the proper way to worship God? Or what are the nonnegotiable parts that must be included to worship? In this paper we will develop a philosophy to determine what worship is, what should be included in worship today, and how important theology is to the leader of the worship experience. Defining Worship There are three terms in the bible that help us to understand worship. The first word is hwjtvh, which literally means to bow down. This word “emphasizes the way an Israelite thought of approaching the to the holy presence of God.”2 The second Old Testament word we must look at is dAbDo meaning to serve. “The highest designation of the Hebrew in his engagement with the worship of God is just this word servant.”3 In the New Testament the word most often used for worship is proskune÷w. This word carries the same meaning as to bow Timothy J...

...generation changed the development of American history. The author asks the reader to see the stories from both foresight and hindsight, implying that the stories should be understood both in terms of how they occurred, and in terms of what was later revealed over the years. He has chosen to focus the structure of the book around the important members of the Revolutionary generation, including Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, and Hamilton. The founding fathers realized that the new nation had great potential. George Washington was a great example because he thought the expansion into the West would help a civilized future. ...holiday away it would cause national heartbreak and is something that no one would want for a country. Any disruption in national heritage would cause future generations to not be able to celebrate our holidays we have today. Without the holidays, we have today it would mean we have nothing to give our following generations and it take away things millions of people celebrate each year. National holidays helped create the strength our country has today if it is forgotten we won’t be as powerful in years to come. Country-wide happiness is a virtue in the states and is something that should be preserved for years to come. Many historical figures may be forgotten if we eliminated holidays. Memorial day, Columbus day, Martin Luther King jr day are just a few examples of holidays that would be forgotten with later generations if they were deleted in our national observance. Holidays celebrated because of the impact someone or a group of people is seen useless in some people's eyes but to me, it is anything but. It lets millions provide an honored remembrance to history every year. These holidays represent the foundation and structure of our country and if it is forgotten, millions of people will not know why or how they ended up being in the best country in the world. I’ve now covered the important details as to why we shouldn’t eliminate any American holidays. Destroying something so many people love and look forward to every year would be frowned upon by millions,...

...How Far Is Religion a Conservative Force? (33 marks). In the views of functionalism, neo-functionalism, feminism, and Marxism, religion is a conservative force that prevents social change from happening and maintains the current status quo. Yet neo-Marxism and Weber contrast this view by saying religion is used as a force for social change, while post-modernism argues we have the ability to ‘pick and mix’ our religion with the growth of new-age religions. This is all then contrasted by fundamentalism, which looks to bring about social change to take society back to biblical traditions and values. Before we try and figure out if religion is a conservative force or not, we should first define the difference between substantive and functional definitions in sociology: substantive definitions are more concerned with looking at what makes religion distinctive, while functional definitions look at how it is that religion contributes to society as a whole. Starting with functionalism, this is supported by Durkheim, Malinowski and Parsons, this views religion as a conservative force. Durkheim split all items into two different categories: the sacred and the profane. The sacred items were ‘special, unworldly and forbidden’, while all other ‘normal’ objects were just profane, such as a chair. Specifically, Durkheim focused his research on the Aborigines. He found that their Totems were sacred (a Totem was a carved animal), and they were often carved from bull roar wood, the most sacred...

...that would be considered extreme for the time period. One of the biggest works of art he completed was “The Last Supper”. This painting, done in fresco, plays a significant role in Christianity and depicts Jesus with his disciples. Along with “The Last Supper”, The Book of Genesis was produced to influence belief on a group of individuals. These works of art are cemented in history and can be connected to each other by their significant individual affects on human existence. “The Last Supper” and the creation story in The Book of Genesis are connected to one another by theology and both share themes such as creationism and humanism. To understand how these individual pieces of work are connected to each other, one must first breakdown why these works of art were created. The Last Supper is one of the most thought-provoking and controversial works of Leonardo da Vinci. It is a mural painting, which means that it is directly painted on a wall, and is created by Leonardo in Milan from 1495 till 1498. Da Vinci painted it for his patron Duke Ludovico Sforza who decided that he wanted this religious scene painted. The Last Supper measures 15 feet × 29 feet and covers the back wall of the dining hall at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. Leonardo spent 3 years painting it because of its measurements but actually he did not work on it continuously throughout this period. The Book of Genesis was written by unknown authors and is the first book of the Old Testament. Some historians...

...Adriana Umana 15 September 2015 Psychology 356 Application 2 Among the top minds of the 20th century lie many great men who have devoted their lives to research in order to conclude an achievement of everyday remembrance as well in providing useful and technical information that will advance us in the future. Amongst these men lie Sigmund Freud, Alfred Adler, and Carl Yung. Freud is highly debated and known for his theories of the unconscious mind and for creating the clinical process of psychoanalysis, which treated psychopathology by using the “talking cure”. Alfred Adler is remembered both for his role in the early development of psychoanalysis and for his theories relating to "individual psychology," which stresses the essential unity and uniqueness of every individual and his or her "life-pattern." Last, Yung introduced the concepts of the introverted and extroverted personalities, collective unconsciousness, and archetypes. All in all, I decided to analyze Joe’s Daily Blog using the Freudian, Adler and Yung Approach. Like mention, Freud strongly believed that inner forces drive behavior. After reading some of Joey’s blog posts I would have to say that Freud would analysis him by tracing back his hidden origins. He would think joey tends to rationalize and has a big super ego. Joey travels a lot and tends to incorporate norms, and standards from different cultures. In addition Joey, often dreams about his childhood. Freud would definitely say that his dreams have a...

...live a lucrative life. Through my high school years, I began to realize that the same qualities and actions in my personal life would prove me successful in the field of nursing. I not only upheld a nurturing personality, but I also had the endurance, strong grades, and always conveyed the motto, “Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” This meant making the best out of my time and optimizing the workload as much as possible in any given moment. As a result of my past, I am able to manage stress in a healthy way and believe the rigorous and intense demands of nursing match my capabilities. Today, as a newly Registered Nurse graduate, I have essential goals that I hope to undertake for as long as I am a nurse. One of my most important goals is to attain core characteristics that define a successful nurse. My second goal is to commit myself to lifelong learning. Third, I want to provide ongoing community service to those in need of medical assistance. According to the American Nurses Association, nursing is defined as, “Protection, promotion, and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (American Nurses Association,...

...There is a quote about archery from Louis Lord Mountbatten which saying that, during the fourth world war, people will use archery instead of nuclear. Besides that, there are a sahih hadith about this sport. The Prophet once passed by some people of the tribe of Bani Aslam who were practicing archery. The Prophet said: “O Bani Isma`il ! Practice archery as your father Isma`il was a great archer. Keep on throwing arrows and I am with Bani so-and-so.” (Bukhari) For archery, we hired eight coaches who are expertise in archery. The community who learn this skill would be divided to four teams. Each team would have two coaches with them and have different locations. We concern about the efficiency in learning this skill, which is the reasons why we divide them to groups. There would be no separation among the learners based on their expertise. They will learn from the most fundamental steps till they will expert. There are schedule for the classes. There are two sessions for a day which is on weekend. A session will be held in the morning, while another is in the evening. Each session will have four teams that stated above. Another four teams is in evening. For morning session, the class will start from 8.30 am till 10.30 am. While for evening session, the class will start from 3.30 pm till 5.30 pm. ...Even though the family most likely learned to have conversations in a way Turing describes as a “parrot-fashion” (473), nonetheless the family still communicates and interacts properly. For example, Mrs. Hathaway describes to Captain Wilder how she and her husband “for years on end we sat and talked” (Bradbury 461). She did this all while having an entire conversation with Wilder about Mr. Hathaway. Additionally, Captain Wilder, nor the crew, seemed to notice any deficits or errors in the family’s way of communicating. One of the main ideas in the Turing test is if conversation of a machine is difficult to tell apart from a that of a human (Turing 471). The Hathaway’s ability to communicate effectively without obvious error is an important and clear technique in passing the Turing...

...World Religions Report Beverly Ross HUM/130 Kenneth Dietz December 17, 2010 Credentials are important when you are choosing a religion. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the Bible as the guiding source based on worthy credentials. Their truths are based on the sacred writings of the Bible. For example Genesis 1:1 says: There is one almighty God and Creator who made all things. They believe in one creator who has a name, and that name is Jehovah. Jehovah’s Witnesses are members of a World Wide Christian Religion who share with others information about God and his son, Jesus Christ. They base their belief mainly on the principles found in the Holy Bible, and view first century Christianity as their source. Their founder is Charles Taze Russell whose background and study of the Bible led him to conclude that hellfire does not exist, God is not a Trinity, and that 1914 marked the second coming of Christ. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all scriptures are inspired of God and beneficial, but some people have even claimed that they are not even Christians. They believe that “There is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved, which is Jesus Christ”. That is quoted in Acts 4:12 of the Bible. They believe that God is greater than Jesus, and that Jesus himself acknowledged that: “The Father is greater that I am,” (John 14:28) they also believe that they should be like Jesus by making God’s name...

...In my opinion, the definition of “home” to Ann Hood is her childhood. The River Street brings her back to her childhood time; even for thirty – eight years. It is just a normal street that does not know how to speak or express feelings. However, whenever she is there, River Street would lead her back to the past in her thoughts. As she said, “River Street connected me to the rest of the world” (Hood 239), people can feel how important the street is to her. The “world” is a very strong vocabulary and it is a connection toward her own life. A very significant moment that Ann told in her writing was the carnival, Little Miss Natick Beauty Pageant. What I feel like while reading this part was she, herself and her mother; only who can against the whole world which is others’ competitors. That is why people embrace family values. Her mother taught her how to perform by a poem and therefore, she got success. Ann won Little Miss Natick 1963 and after that, others’ mother’s competitors cut her leopard bikini because they were jealous and angry. “It was that kind of town, And River Street, with its, shabby beauty, epitomized it.” (Hood 239). At the end of the paragraph, she concluded describing her town interestingly. Ann did not forget about River Street, even it looks not good but it would not be completed for her town, without the River Street. River Street...
