Attention material: When two genders mix and clash in a field someone can be left feeling devalued, disrespected, and insecure. Initial audience relevance: For many years the IT field has always been known to be a male dominated field, similar to working on wall street. However, as years pass by there has been an increase of women going the field some staying and others making a dive for safety. There is a slight chance that you have been a witness to this yourself.

Initial credibility: I have done a lot of research that included reading peer reviewed essays, interviews, and conducted studies. With taking sociology of gender I have even took the precaution of putting myself in the shoes of others.

Main Point 2: An imbalanced workplace where men are more common than women can have a major effect on woman performance.

AA: Women after the industrial revolution were often unrepresented in the workforces according to Gray.

AB: There are many different positions where women are unrepresented even as a CEO of a fortune 500 company. Research showed that women who were unrepresented in IT had completely left the IT field leading companies to loosing creativity and talent for the workforce in the workforce. This led to a decrease in diversity of a company.

AC: It was found that women described worked as being difficult, boring, unattractive, and solitary in nature, requiring little interaction with coworkers. Research showed that women are often labeled as being an expressive individual of a group and expected a work-family-like environment. Women even at times felt work was male dominated and that they were unwelcomed. Women also describe that they felt like outsiders and intimated by their male colleagues, which took a major impact on their self-confidence leaving them wondering if they were good enough for the job or even the field of …show more content…
This should be going on when it comes to women in IT, but as a society some of us still hold women accountable for their roles in society from years ago and some that still exist today.

AB: A model developed that discovered there was a division between spheres. One sphere was called the public sphere and the other was called the private sphere. The public sphere predominantly consisted of men and the private sphere consisted of women. ABA: Public sphere: Well paid men, leaders, and they were often seen in the public. Private sphere: Women that would be rarely seen in public and not paid to work. Work was always known to be secondary in that period of time.

AC: Women were placed in position that were below their performance standards. Since women were viewed as the child carrier and they were expected to attend to the house after work that eventually it would distract them at work. With women being placed in a non-valuable position at work it wouldn’t be too much of a lost if they had indeed got distracted at work with household
