A macro practice involves addressing and confronting social issues that can act as a barrier to allow one’s basic needs to be met on an organizational level by creating structural change through social actions (Martin, 2014). This practice can bring about challenges due to there are always going to be those that are opposed to what the organization that is trying to make the change is doing. Sister Simone Campbell and her organization Network is a prime example of having to face challenges while working in a macro practice. One of the challenges of a macro system is going to be to have good community development, this is done through proper funding and good networking skills (Martin, 2014). Lack of funding and networking skills will make it hard for organizations to come together and further develop the community, which will restrict the resources available to the individuals and groups in the community. For community development to be successful there has be good community organization, which is done by the multiple groups that may be involved. One of the challenges that are going to be faced with community organization is that for it to be successful there has to be proper research done and without proper information than the success of the group is going to low. The issue at hand has to be fully defined, along with it has to be determined what is causing the issue which can be a challenge to a macro practice. There may be multiple things causing one issues and with community organization it has to be determined if all the things causing the issues are going to be addressed or if one single cause is going to be the focus. This could lead to some disagreements amongst the group, which could cause the issue at hand to not be addressed

Written Report

...Written Report MACRO COMPUTER SCIENCE What is a Macro Computer? A macro (short for "macroinstruction", from Greek μακρο- 'long') in computer science is a rule or pattern that specifies how a certain input sequence (often a sequence of characters) should be mapped to a replacement output sequence (also often a sequence of characters) according to a defined procedure. The mappings process that instantiates (transforms) a macro use into a specific sequence is known as macro expansion. A facility for writing macros may be provided as part of a software application or as a part of a programming language. In the former case, macros are used to make tasks using the application less repetitive. In the latter case, they are a tool that allows a programmer to enable code reuse or even to design domain-specific languages. Macros are used to make a sequence of computing instructions available to the programmer as a single program statement, making the programming task less tedious and less error-prone. (Thus, they are called "macros" because a big block of code can be expanded from a small sequence of characters). Macros often allow positional or keyword parameters that dictate what the conditional assembler program generates and have been used to create entire programs or program suites according to such variables as operating system, platform or other factors. The term derives from "macro instruction", and such expansions were originally used in generating assembly language code...

Macro-Social Work Practice Essay

...major concept that I took away from the Schulman chapter, was the excerpt regarding macro-social work practice. I saw many parallels between the information given on macro-social work, and my current job. I am currently employed as a program assistant in a low-income community house, and I never thought of my job as a form of macro-social work. However, reading this text informed me that the work that I am doing, in assisting to strengthen and build the community, is in fact a form of macro-social work practice. As a future social worker, I believe that the work that I am doing is incredibly beneficial for the community. Community development and strengthening is incredibly important within contemporary Canadian society, and is an amazing example of macro-social work. Learning about macro-social work in the text, and seeing what macro-social work can do for communities in Ottawa, has really taught me that this form of social work is something that I want to endeavour into. I believe that, community development is a key point for intervention. If a social worker wants to see changes in...

Training Is the Answer...but What Is the Question

...Article Critique Training is the Answer…But What Was the Question The author’s main objective of this article is to ask the question of whether training really works or not. Mr. Rosner looks at how managers were being trained in order to develop the employees that they managed. This article also speaks about the mindset of personnel that attend training. Rosner states, in the words of Bob Pike, president of Minneapolis-based Creative Training Techniques, “Most people come to training with one of four mindsets: as a learner, a networker, a vacationer or a prisoner” (Rosner, 2009). These mindsets that people possess can make the training better or worse for the people attending it. If they come in with a learning mindset then they tend to more focused on what they are about to learn. They are more involved in the training and understand what they are there for. The networker mindset person is there for learning but they want to network with other people within the class. They are looking to make connections in order to have more connections for a later date, maybe for a better job or for something they may need in their current company. The vacationer mindset person is there to get away from everything not to learn. They want to get away from the office and enjoy their time away. The prisoner feels as if they were forced to be there and they come in mostly with a closed mind about the training they are attending. Rosner also speaks about some problems that people have within...

But those people who follow a rigorous routine of workouts, gym, road-running, weekly matches, this mess food doesn’t guarantee the total nutrition that should be. Nutrition drive is being initiated with this motive only. The Games & Sports Council wants every deserving player of its contingent to get the maximum benefit. How to begin? Every 6 days a week, from 8 30 to 9 30pm a juice stall would be booked in front of hall 3, specifically for sports people. The stall owner would be given a list of captain’s & vice-captain’s name on it. Students who are regular in practice and have attended the practice session on that day can avail this facility, this would be done under the supervision of the captain or the vice-captain, one of them has to be present along with them. Every sport that our campus students play has a different strength than the other. To account for this, number of students who can benefit from this activity would be limited & the thing most important to this, only regular students can utilize this opportunity. There can be 3 different types of Juices that can be provided, namely pineapple, orange & any other seasonal fruit. Choice would be subjective to players. Benefits- The Objective of this nutrition drive is not only to provide students with the essential nutrition, but also ensure regularity...
