Why I Want To Be A National Honor Society

...National Honor Society is one of the nation's most well-known organizations because it honors students with outstanding academic skills. With that being said, since the start of my high school career I had wanted to be a part of this prestigious club. And, not just because members got to wear an extra tassel at graduation, but instead because of the opportunities that came with membership. To lay the foundation for this essay, I want to be a member of NHS because it builds character, shows leadership, provides services and looks good on a college application. First off, this club helps build and improve one's character which is important for all job fields and especially for those that involve teamwork. This because having character means that I’d have the ability to show respect and empathy, which in turn will help me foster positive working relationships. Furthermore, it is especially important in a team because you need to collaborate in order to get the job done, and when you can’t respect a co-worker, you’ll create more problems than end...

The Five Pillars Of NJHS

...Being recommended by my teachers for the National Juniors Honors Society has been a huge honor. The National Juniors Honors Society is a nationwide program that recognizes middle school students not just for their academic prowess, but also for their all around abilities. The five pillars of NJHS make up my character and the person I aspire to be in the future. They are service, leadership, citizenship, character, and scholarship. These five pillars are also why I would like to be a member of NJHS. This prestigious program would allow all five of these skills be heightened to their full potential. This is why membership in NJHS means so much to me. Being a part of NJHS means I can make an impact in my community. Growing up in Bowie and living here my whole life, I have seen things that could be changed for the better. Such as trash laying in my local park and homeless people with no food or shelter.I would love to hold food drives, give back to the people who don't have as much as everyone else and pick up trash so anything nature has created won't be harmed. When people are laying down on their couches, there are people in need and things to be done. I want to be the person to get up and help. That is what NJHS would help me do....

National Honor Society Narrative Report

...happy to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society. I have worked hard in my classes and I feel that my work in my church community and my involvement in Pinkerton's AF JROTC program show that I would be a contributing member to this organization. In my church, I have learned that praying must be accompanied by actions. I pray that I am good role model to my brothers and my two cousins in the Philippines, but I also know that actions are important, so I put aside $20 each month from my allowance to help with my cousins' tuition. Through my mother's work in a nursing home, I was able to help out at the Resident and Family Summer Barbeque. I enjoyed it so much that I began volunteering regularly for the Recreation...

...not the top of my class, I am not the star of the varsity soccer team and I am not the most popular student at Turpin High School. This does not mean that I am not an excellent candidate for National Honor Society. Without being all the things that I previously mentioned, I firmly believe that I possess great attributes that allow me to be a leader, a scholar, and a honorable student. I have perseverance. During Varsity soccer tryouts this past year my self confidence was tested. Unfortunately, I found it was a struggle to make the Varsity team. I thought about quitting because I did not like the uncertainty and the feelings of insecurity that arose because of the situation. Sometimes people feel it is easier to quit than to push forward but I “pushed on”. In the end, I did make the Varsity team. I did not take the easy way out when soccer became...

The four most critical factors are adherence to an oath of office in which one swears to protect the Constitution, be willing and able body patriots to make up membership, leadership, and economic incentive. Today, the United States Army is the most powerful army in the world, and can largely attribute this status to its investment in people and their willing to commit to an oath of office.  People from different social, economic, and educational backgrounds comprise the United States Army; and since the end of the Vietnam War, are all volunteers who choose to serve.  The dynamics of a microcosm of society within our army bound by the common desire to serve one's country is a powerful force, and inculcates a culture of professionalism throughout all ranks within the service. Their willingness to pledge their allegiance to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies serves as a large bridge bringing social, economic, and educational backgrounds on a more equal footing. Music is also a large part of my teaching; I love to teach my class using rhymes and songs to help grasp a concept or lesson. 2. I am currently a preschool teacher, and what preschool teaching has taught me, is that hands on learning is the best kind. Creating lesson plans that allow you to get down to the child’s level is key. I found it important to switch to a new lesson or activity every 15 minutes, so that your students can easily stay on topic. I very much enjoy the age 4-8, I feel a child does the most growing academically within these years, learning to read, count, do math and write.
