Around the country there is a huge debate on whether teachers should have guns at school. I firmly believe teachers should not be able to have guns at school. They should not because the teachers or students could have some physiological issues, kids could find or get access to the gun, and it would cost a lot of money and lots of time. The first reason I do not believe teachers should have guns at school because someone in the class including the teacher could have physiological problems. A kid could steal the gun from the educator and shoot anyone in the room, or the educator could turn on the children and decide they are going to shoot/kill everyone. Some reasons this could be an issue is the teachers or children having an abusive/bad

School Shooting Research Paper

...In 2018, America has been very active and hectic with school shootings. On March 7th, there was a shooting at a high school in Maryland that left two killed. The shooter was immediately stopped by the first officer who arrived. Also, there was a shooting this past February in Parkland, Florida. In this school shooting, 17 people were killed. When the officer arriver he stayed outside of the building. The shooter in this case was a student named Nicholas Cruz. These school shootings have led to the government having discussions on teachers having handguns and putting metal detectors in schools. Also there have been school walkouts across the nation. The President and politicians are talking about gun policies and are recommending more resource officers and counselors. At my high school in Statesboro, Georgia, many students participated in the walkout. Our teachers have been trained for “Run, Hide, and Fight” and our city has had two community discussions on school safety. From the school shootings that have happened in the past year, I think the President should recommend metal detectors and teachers should practice school safety. Persuasive Essay On Arming Teachers

...Arming Teachers: Against Ever since the shooting that happened in Florida, millions of Americans gathered to put an end to school shootings. They were protesting about gun control and arming teachers/staff. The citizens of Florida wanted their government to finally add permits onto the guns. They asked Donald Trump to “do something about it”, other than sending thoughts and prayers to the students who have been killed during the shooting. In Florida, you do not need a permit to carry a gun. Even if you’re 18 years old. Also, if you’re 21 in Florida, you still do not need a permit, but expect open carrying a gun. As of right now, some states are determined whether or not give guns to teachers/staff. One reason why they shouldn’t arm teachers/staff, is that a student would steal the gun. This could happen if the teacher left his code in the classroom in his/her cabinet or the student was left inside the classroom. Then the student would grab the firearm and start a school shooting. Sure, they probably would change the combination, but there’s always a way for a student to crack a safe. Besides, buying safes and guns would cost a lot of money. They would have to donations and they have to vote...
