...the idea and places into a message, then decides how the idea is going to be communicated (email, conversation, etc.). Once the person with the idea picks the channel of how they will present the idea, they send it. The audience will then receive the message, decode the message for the meaning and then responds to the message and can provide feedback toward the message sender. The way communication is suppose to work at my current job is the Director has the information, she tells the 2 managers and the 2 managers tell the supervisors that report to them. The supervisors then tell their leads and then the other people who report to them. This way everyone has all the information and the Director is not required to tell everyone. This was outlined in my training process. However, this is not the way communication always works for us. The Director sometimes will call in the supervisors and tell them stuff to tell their team and then pulls in the managers and tells them something different- although the main information is all correct, we all hear it differently and in different ways from her. This causes major confusion! Due to the confusion this has been causing us we have all told the director that we need to go back to the way the communication is outlined in our procedures. We have a meeting today at 11 AM PT to go over this to make sure everyone is on the same page. Response: Your job at home is a hard one! You do not have the luxury of being able to speak via email to...

...Issues in Information Technology Mr. Daniel R. O’Day October 12, 2015 Lab 2 Lab two focuses on information about IT professionals and IT users and common ethical issues they face. This lab will help me with any future issues I may come across during my career whether it be with other employees in the company I work for or peers that are in facing an issue that goes against the IT professional codes of ethics. Part One: “What Would You Do?” – Situation 1 Even though my relationship with my old roommate is important to me, I would not be able to put in a good word or get his resume into the “right hands.” I would be lying at my job (a place that I worked hard to even get into) and that could get me into a lot of trouble if the company realized that he does not actually have the knowledge he says he does. Here’s exactly what happened. My old college roommate got let go from his job and has asked me to help him become an employee at the company I work for. I told him that I have no problem putting in a good word and getting his resume in the “right hands” but then I saw his resume. The problem is that he greatly exaggerated pretty much everything single thing on his resume and expects me to not tell my boss that he actually does not have the knowledge he says he does so that he could get the job. There are a lot of people who can be put into harms way if I were to lie for my old college roommate. Those who are directly affected by this problem include me, my old...

...the initial screening, it’s your opportunity to convince an employer, using your powers of persuasion and communication skills, that you are the right person for the job. Before the Interview RESEARCH IS CRITICAL! The applicant who has worked hard to prepare is much more likely to get a call back for a second interview or an offer of employment. Prior to an interview, clarify the skills and abilities you have to offer an employer, thinking of an example for each one. Research the career field/position you are pursuing to convince yourself this is an occupation you would enjoy (it’s much easier to convince a potential employer once you’ve convinced yourself). Conduct thorough research on the organization, developing a checklist of information based on your research to share with the interviewer during the interview. The three key points to remember: 1. 2. 3. Know yourself Know your resume Know the company/industry Preparation enhances your self-confidence, reduces anxiety, and provides the synthesis to focus on how your qualifications match the organization’s needs. RESEARCHING YOURSELF 1. 2. 3. Think back on your previous experiences (work, academic, and extracurricular) to determine the skills and abilities used in each. ...There are a few graduate attributes which will help me in succeeding in my career. The first graduate attribute is effective communication skill. Good communication skills help us to present our points and messages in the most convincing way. Firstly, we have to speak proficiently together with gestures, good posture, movement, and good control of our voice because it would help us to convince people easily. Speaking without moving our body or in a monotonous voice will result in a boring presentation and thus, people will find it hard to focus on what we are saying. Effective communication skills also gives clarity which will prevent misunderstandings that lead to arguments. With this skill, our messages will be simple, direct and easy to be uunderstood. Next, accountants have to present to the company’s owners and shareholders every now and then, regarding the company’s financial performance. With effective communication skills, they will feel confident with my work. If I cannot communicate effectively, I will find it difficult to present about the company’s performance and I will also be unable to answer their questions regarding the company’s financial matters. Besides, information technology skills are indeed important in this modern world. We have to learn how to make full use of information technology such as power point slides, e-mails, internet, mobile applications and video calls. These information technology can be used to reinforce communication and enhance people’s...

...companies states their reasoning for tracking and it always comes down to providing a better experience. I believe that it is ok for companies such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo, Twitter, and Apple to track our searches and compile data about us as long as they keep the advertising online. Once they invade our home life such as phone calls and direct mailing, then I believe that they have gone too far. Nothing is ever truly free these companies are in it to make money and they make considerable amount of revenue from using our information to advertise to use. For now I will enjoy the free services that Google, Facebook and many other sites have to offer. Google the world’s largest search giant has over 1 billion searches per day. (Google, 2010) Google is almost as well-known as Coca-Cola and the users of Google use it daily but what is the cost that these users are being charged. According to Google’s Policies “We collect information to provide better services to all of our users – from figuring out basic stuff like which language you speak, to more complex...

...Soul Destination is a new technology that was only created about 50 years ago. It is able to take people's souls, and send them off to a different planet and, sometimes, a different universe. This new technology is still in development, so anyone can say that all of those souls that were previously sent out were experiments. Soul Destination is very unstable, and there is a high chance that it could completely destroy a person's soul. It is highly dangerous, but it is also the most mysterious, even when compared to the Time Machine. This is why many geniuses wish to help further the development of Soul Destination with all of their hearts and minds. Vastoria's scientists have long ago found out that there were other universes and planets that are inhabitable. That was the biggest discovery that...

...world was a good way for me to understand, why we need media and why it’s also not needed. Since I was born, I’ve always been surrounded by technology, even the earliest stages of the internet. Most of us today use social media, television, or even our phones to obtain news and information around us. Personally I couldn’t tell you the last time I read a newspaper to know what’s going on in my community. Media is making our lifestyles a microwavable generation where everything is quick and handed to us. Not knocking technology or social media because I feel like it’s much easier to get information in the palm of your hand. But one thing I notice about using too much technology is that we are slowly losing face to face communication skills. More people use texting as a main source of communication and I’ve seen my peers write essay papers like the way they text which isn’t a good trait to obtain. By doing this fasting from technology, I felt at peace for a while, felt like I didn’t have worry about people or the world. Sometimes we don’t even realize how stuck on our phones we be or even the fact that we check our phones even when no one has called or text us. Media is influencing us in our everyday lives, by commercials, reality shows, and even game shows. Realizing that it’s more to life than just watching television, being on social media, and just being a couch potato. It was kind of hard doing this, because of the fact that I’m always using technology twenty four seven. But...

..."A term used to describe the discrepancy between people who have access to and the resources to use new information and communication tools, such as the Internet, and people who do not have the resources and access to the technology. The term also describes the discrepancy between those who have the skills, knowledge and abilities to use the technologies and those who do not. The digital divide can exist between those living in rural areas and those living in urban areas, between the educated and uneducated, between economic classes, and on a global scale between more and less industrially developed nations (webopedia.com) ." I guess from my opinion I am still stuck on the digital divide process also. In the area that I live it is very low income and at least 90 percent of the parents are using the government to pay their child care. This speaks volume for the need of computers in this town. I talk with many parents on where to go on the internet to find a job and almost all of them tell me that they don’t have a computer. Then I suggest they go to the library and now I learned that the library only have four computers. When I look around this town I see why most people have not progress to better living. Since you and I know that it takes a computer most of the time to find a job, because no one want to use paper application anymore. The web is the maximum advancement of knowledge in my lifetime the of destroyer applications for the computer. Believe it or not there...
