...Club IT Part 2 John Holmes BIS/219 September 4, 2011 Dr. Freddie Spencer Club IT Part 2 Club IT owners Rueben and Lisa understand there is room for improvement in the current information technology systems used by employees at Club IT. This assessment will provide Rueben and Lisa with recommendations for upgrading and improving of the current information management capabilities (University of Phoenix, 2011). After discussing the assessment outcome with Rueben and Lisa, it was agreed upon that three areas need improvement to bring Club IT information technology systems into the mainstream of club management. The areas are integration and collaboration of functional areas within Club IT, customer relationship with the business, and the method of supply management. The first business problem Club IT needs to consider is upgrading the business end of software. Specifically, implementing commercially available Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) software into daily operations would be a nice start. Integrating the planning, management, and use of Club ITs resources into a single functional area will enhance the business processes of the organization (Rainer & Turban, 2009). Sales and marketing are just a couple of the areas that would feed into the ERP system within Club IT. ...Training Sales Program for Wellbridge Clubs Sales Staff Dawnita Blackmon-Mosely Tiaunna Connelly Elizabeth Davis Jesus Elias Jaimi Faux Michael Morris Rodney Ulibarri Webster University Abstract The purpose of this project was to develop a training program for Wellbridge Clubs that focused on teaching sales staff to sell personal training (PT) packages to members, in order to increase Wellbridge sales. The training agenda was designed based on Silberman’s (2006) Active Training, in order to engage the participants in their learning process. The use of immediate learning exercises is intended to draw the participants into the process of guided note taking during the brain-friendly lectures. Through headlines and graphical associations, organized information is presented that is more easily retained. Role-playing scenarios solidify newly acquired information, and action planning provides an opportunity to prepare the participants for on-the-job application. These techniques were chosen because they provide the best option for active involvement of the participants, and thus, their attainment and retention of skill. ...Tournament Method Here on, we consider the general problem in which a group of n people must choose exactly 1 option (e.g. “C”) from a list of distinct options (A,B,C, etc.). These options could be candidates running for office, bills, legal decisions, etc. The one that is chosen we shall call the “winner”. 1 Plurality Voting In plurality voting (also called first-past-the-post voting in reference to horse races), each voter casts exactly 1 vote in favour of just 1 option. The winner is the option that earns a certain number of votes. • Majority Rule: The winner is the option that earns more than 50% of all votes (a simple majority). If the number of votes, n, is even, then a simple majority is at least n + 1. 2 If n is odd, then a simple majority is at least n+1 . 2 • Plurality Rule: The winner is the option that earns more votes than any other candidate individually (a plurality). ...Kingdom Plantae All land plants experience alternation of generations. Two distinct phases exist: A diploid sporophyte alternates with a haploid gametophyte. (In reality these phases represent two body forms of the same organism). The gametophyte produces gametes (eggs and/or sperm). A diploid sporophyte produces spores by meiosis. Sporophytes and gametophytes look distinctly different from one another (heteromorphic). Mosses and Ferns Phylum Hepatophyta (Liverworts) The plants are called liverworts because they look like a human liver. They are very small and you’ll find them growing on rocks that are next to freshwater streams. Activity: Examine Marchantia. The body of this plant is called a thallus. The thallus is the gametophyte portion of the life cycle. Identify the gemma cups. Inside the gemma cup is gemmae. The gemmae get dislodged by splashing water. If they land on a suitable substrate, they grow into new thalli. [pic] kingdomplantae.blogspot.com Phylum Bryophyta (Mosses) Mosses grow on trees, rocks and soil. They have a wide variety of human uses, the most common one being a soil additive to potting soil and as a major component of peat, which is used for fuel in some parts of the world. Notice that the sporophyte remains attached to the gametophyte. The gametophyte continues to provide nutrition for the...
