1. Introduction:
The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21 or CMP 11 was held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015. It was the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.
The conference reached its objective, to for the first time achieve a global agreement on reduction of greenhouse emission in the Paris Agreement, which was adopted with acclamation by nearly all states. The agreement will become legally binding if at least 55 countries that represent at least 55 percent of global greenhouse emissions become a party to it through signature followed by ratification, acceptance, approval or through accession in New York between 22 April 2016 to 21 April 2017. It is expected to take effect in 2020. According to the organizing committee, the expected key result was to limit the global warming, by 2100, compared to pre-industrial to below 2 degrees Celsius.
The goal to limit temperature increase with 2 degrees was however supplemented in the adopted version of the Paris Agreement, with the statement that parties "pursue to" limit the temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. A 1.5°C goal will require a zero level in emissions sometimes between 2030 and 2050 according to some scientists. However, no detailed time plan or country-specific goals for emissions were stated in the final version of the Paris Agreement - as opposed to the previous Kyoto protocol. A zero level should be reached during the second half of the century according to the agreement.
In this context, this paper basically tries to find out the major issues of the conference. The paper starts with the introduction in section 1 followed by background of the conference in section 2. A brief discussion of

I was being out of hand with my words and he (Officer J.Christensen) flagged down five other police. I was shown the ticket on the pad. And took the pen while the cop was showing me what I was being cited for. He took it back and said he wasn’t finished telling me what they were for, and already running late to work, I took the pen stating I would need to sign it either way but not in as kind of words. He then tightly grabbed my wrist with which I grabbed the pen, I have bruises on my wrist still from where he grabbed, I’m on blood thinners due to serious heart complications and knew the grip in my wrist would bruise by the strength of his hand. Instinctively, I pulled his hand off mine, to which he responded by lifting me up and putting me in an arm bar, throwing me on the ground with the help of another cop and arrested me, but not before leaving massive bruises on my arms, whereas I’m sure he had none. I know now it is never acceptable to put your hands on a cop or anyone in general, However I know, Throwing me on the ground with the help of another officer was unnecessary considering I was 90 pounds (left jail at 82 pounds) and 5’4 and did not resist arrest or fight back after the minute I grabbed his hand off my wrist. I have pictures of the bruises that the officers left on my arms but they are...

Sammy Yatim

...The Sammy Yatim case was a young eighteen year old man that was seriously shot in a bus at Bellwood and Dundas multiple times. In recent discussions on the Sammy Yatim case people have questions whether the cop, James Forcillo actions justified or not. Many people have questioned whether Forcillo’s actions were consequences of his lawful training or a murder without justification. Yatim was riding the like an ordinary person until later he pulled out his knife in one hand and his penis in the other. He then attempted to slash a women’s neck, that’s when everybody screamed and ran out the bus except for the bus driver. The bus driver was waiting for everyone to get out and within that time Yatim lounged at the driver, luckily the cops came just in time and the bus driver ran out. Yatim was then alone in the bus. The cops told Yatim to “drop the knife” to which he said, “no. you’re a fu***** Pu***”, and did not obey the police. Yatim later stepped out the streetcar and was shot 9 times. Forcillo was the only cop out of the many that shot Yatim. A cop ran over to Yatim and noticed he was still alive so he tasered him. Yatim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime on July, 27, 2013. Many people questioned the actions of Forcillo. Forcillo was charged with second degree murder for shooting Yatim which means that Forcillo intended to kill Yatim. His wife was really upset because she thought he was justified. The court then found out that Yatim was mentally unstable so it increased...

Cop Model

...Share the “COP” Model The COP model is a framework for discovering your sweet spot, or best fit within an organization. The model is comprised of three overlapping fields: competency, passion, and opportunity. The sweet spot is the section where all three of these arenas intersect. I presented it to Bob, another manager at my company and our discussion led to new perspectives and understandings of each of the three fields. Competency is defined as what you do well. There are many different ways to excel at a job. Bob labeled Jackson, his most tenured employee, as his most valuable worker. His group’s primary objective is to create data for software that helps estimate construction costs. Jackson has worked in residential and commercial construction for more than 20 years. His co-workers frequently rely on his expertise when making their own decision. However, Jackson lacks some technical skills and struggles to come to conclusions without the help of others. He is not the best employee at the typical assignments of his job. He succeeds, because he is very competent in the construction space and he can provide essential insights that no one else can. Excelling in areas crucial to a company’s performance, can be a very valuable asset, even if you lack more traditional skills. While discussing opportunity I asked Bob what the most important part of his job was. Opportunity is the marketability of your services or the activities that best meet the needs of the...

Uconn

...friend that I was visiting a ride back to his dorm room since we were on the other side of campus and it was like a 15-20 min walk back to his dorm. I got pulled over by the cops because my head lights weren’t on. When he comes over he tells me my lights aren’t on and because there is an auto switch I usually keep it on so they come on automatically I thought they were. They weren’t on auto and I didn’t really notice because of how lighten up UCONN is and when I saw the cop drive by me I had this feeling he was going to turn around and pull me over too. When he came to my window he told me my lights weren’t and was like “Really?” and then he asked if we had been drinking and I said no because I don’t drink. My friend said he did and he had been a little and that’s why I offered to take him back to his dorm. Then the cop takes out his flashlight and starts looking around the car and he spots this water bottle behind my seat and he ask me to give it to him and I did because I know I don’t drink and had no problem with giving him the water bottle because I don’t even think it was alcohol. I just had gotten my car back to because its rims got re-painted and I didn’t even have it for 3 weeks. so next he asks me to get out of the car so he can test me to see if I have been drinking and I passed. I also told the cop I didn’t know what was in the bottle because there was literally nothing in the bottle. It was basically empty. And then he tell me it’s in a perfect spot for me to reach it...

Tony understood that Leon has a drinking problem. then after some time a police man came and sucker punched Leon out of nowhere. After that, they went to the hospital and got Leon patched up. Later that night Tony had a dream; He saw the big cop again, this time he were pointing a long human bone at him. The bone was shining from the moonlight. The cop didnt have a face, only a black ceremonial mask with round, white-rimmed eyes on. Leon healed from the earlier event, but he was bitter. All he was talking about were how he was going to kill the cop if he ever saw him again. Tony is thinking that the cop beat up Leon because of the wine he was drinking. Later they went to do some errands. They ended up at a gas station to fill the tank up, and Tony went into the station to buy a pop. It was there he saw the cop from earlier again, so he left in a hurry. Leon had noticed the cop and had the motor running. They left in a hurry. After a while they noticed someone following them, it was the cop. They stopped and asked if there were any problems. Tony learned that the cop was a racsist and had a deep hatred for them, but Leon didn't get that. After a little tense conversation, Leon drove Tony home. Tony's father commented that it had been a fast trip, but Tony just agreed, because he didn't want to tell what really happened, and worry the family. Polarity

...Polarity Management of Cost and Quality Dustin Klinger Kaplan University Polarity Management of Cost and Quality Polarities are interdependent pairs that support a common purpose yet tend to be contradictory of one other (Polarity Partnerships, para. 1). Some examples of polarities include: stability and change, individual and team, long and short term, autocratic and participatory and my topic, cost and quality. Any of these pairs are known to counter the other. In my case, it is important to note that when quality improves, cost generally increases and vice versa. Throughout this paper I will discuss managerial approaches to utilize these two concepts to your advantage without ever overlooking either of them. It is important to embrace the fact that there are polarities everywhere we turn and instead of trying to fight against them, we should develop their concepts to make us more complete. Larry Hirschhorn has argued that in order for managers to become proficient in managing polarities, they must develop a set of “rules of thumb” for when they encounter different circumstances. They establish these rules with the hopes of somewhat standardizing their way of thinking as well as how to allocate resources for each instance. The guidelines are generally developed to recognize patterns and opportunities. Hirschhorn recommends managers create a 2 x 2 table to help illustrate this concept and to categorize its different states. Each axis would include a “hi” and...

Anonymous Marking System

...ANONYMOUS MARKING SYSTEM Author’s name Course number Instructor’s name Date Student anonymity marking system is a system used in marking of examinations or assignments whereby the identity of the student is not disclosed to the examiner. This is mainly used to ensure that the students’ performance is only based on their merit in exams. Bias in marking may occur due to various reasons. Some of the most significant reasons are race, gender and personal knowledge of the student. This system has been in practice in many universities across the world. The same principles are also being applied to coursework which forms a large part of students’ cumulative assessment. Anonymous marking is not only helpful to the students but also to the stakeholders and examiners since it prevents them from accusations of bias and bullying. Universities and institutes that use this system issue random identification codes to candidates prior to examinations or simply use the student’s number which appears in the student’s identification cards. While this policy may be time consuming, it is more preferable since it prevents possible cases of conscious or unconscious bias. And, more importantly, it creates satisfaction among students and upholds the integrity of examiners. Therefore, Universities needs to implement this system to ensure fair and honest marking practices. From a series of studies conducted in the 1990s, it was proven that bias in marking may occur due to various reasons. The...
