...Healthy Eating, Nutrition, and Exercise Plan Adrienne Mezyk University of Phoenix Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet is extremely important for the body. When a person maintains a healthy diet, the body receives the proper nutrients that it needs to keep the body strong. Nutrients help the brain and nervous system, immune system, and it helps reduce the risk of heart disease and other non-infectious diseases. With a proper diet, a person must also exercise. Exercise is just as important as maintaining a proper diet. Regular exercise improves the quality of life. It can reduce stress; helps a person sleep better, and can help make you feel and look younger. The most important thing that exercise does is, it can reduce the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and even some cancers. During my first week of my nutrition class, the instructor asked me to participate in a three-day diet analysis. I was to keep track of all of the foods that I had consumed in those three days. At the end of the three days, I had realized that I was nowhere near of having a proper diet. I was eating food that was high in sodium and low in dairy, fruit, vegetables, and grain. I also noticed that I was eating a lot empty calories. I just recently took another three-day analysis and the only difference that I noticed was that my calorie intake was much lower than the previous analysis and I am eating less during each meal. I am still nowhere near consuming the proper amount of...

...Eating, Nutrition and Exercise Plan Bryan Clayton SCI/241 January 26, 2013 Angela Pendergast Healthy Eating, Nutrition and Exercise Plan In a comparison of my current three day diet analysis to that of the one I completed in week one shows that my eating habits have declined. In week one I was eating six and a half ounces of grains per day now I am at half an ounce of whole grains which is well under and five and a half ounces of refined grains which is a little over the target amount per day. In week one I was eating two cups of vegetables per day, in the current analysis I only ate three quarters of a cup. During this week’s analysis I did not eat any fruits and in week one I ate half a cup. In week one I consumed one and a quarter cups of dairy over the three days in the current analysis I consumed one cup over the three day period. In week one I ate four ounces of protein during the current analysis I ate three ounces of protein. My current analysis shows that I did not consume any oils in week one I consumed one ounce. By looking at the two analysis’ I found that I still need to improve my eating habits so that I can get the nutrients needed to live a healthy life. I need to eat healthier snacks, eat more protein, dairy and grains. I need to limit the amount of sweets that I consume. My diet still lacks the amount of protein, fruits, vegetables, grains and dairy that I need to consume during a day. My exercise results show that I am...

...BECOMING A WRITER January of 2011 was the beginning of a special adventure in my life as a student. I took an English class 0890, at Utah Valley University. Now, in the last days of this class, almost four months later, I can look back and see myself with a lot of problems in my writing that needed to be fixed. These four months in this class have helped me solve many writing challenges. I am far from perfect in becoming a good writer but I have learned that hard work and perseverance can produce wonderful results. Even though I learned many things, the three man points that I want to talk about are the following: quote analysis scaffold, grammar, and research online. The first month of the English 0890 class was intense, the students had to do a special analysis writing exercise called “Quote analysis scaffold”. It is the developing of many skills in one exercise. It helps develop reading and vocabulary comprehension. After the quote analysis scaffold is made, it can be used in the essay as a hook or concluding thought. We ended up doing around ten of these exercises. After writing the quote, provided from the teacher, this analysis was made from the following steps: The first thing was to do a research online about the author and make two to three sentences, on average, about who he was and what were his major contributions to society. Second, the students had to look for unknown words and their definition in the dictionary. After this, the third part was for the students...

If they do know how to negotiate the author often finds that they did not do a very good job with the getting a salary they deserved. The author's recommended solution is listed below: No other factor has had such a direct impact on the success of my consulting business than that of providing resources on salary negotiation. For this reason, I added an activity to my professional business communication class that deals with salary negotiation. What began as a 20-minute discussion in one class is now permanently integrated into the interview exercise and takes three 75-minute class periods. The following is a SWOT Analysis for this case is as follows: After looking at the SWOT Analysis for this article, I find that the author while providing a realistic perspective to her class since was in the "real" world and gives back to her students valuable information need to negotiate a salary they perceive they are worth. I still think that the exercise is somewhat objective in the particular fact the situation is in a controlled environment even though it can be intimidating being in front of your peers acting out. This will sometimes take away from the effect of being in a negotiation situation and seem more like a acting class. The author has done a great job in detail the pain staking concern she has to help people negotiate their...

...3-Day Exercise Activity Analysis Nicole Pehrson SCI/241 May 10, 2013 Thomas Phillips In this paper, I will review my 3 day activity analysis of physical activities in my life and address ways to better this part of my life. I always feel like I am busy and always on the go. I work full time, school, and of course cleaning, cooking, and keeping up my house hold. As much as I feel I am always moving and on the go, I feel like I should be in better shape, but I’m not. This course has helped me learn to be healthier and in better shape, with not a lot of changes. My daily exercise habits are pretty minimal. I start in the morning with stretching then getting ready for work. I then come home and clean the house and cook. I then try and take an evening walk or jog. I just got my Insanity DVD’s back so I have started doing that as well. It is a 40 minute workout that I do in the evening. I enjoy doing this rather than walking or jogging, especially since it is getting so hot outside. I do not get a lot of exercise at work because I sit at a desk all day, but I make up for it when I get home by cleaning and my evening jog. One day a week I deep clean my house. This seems to really get my heart pumping because I dance around the house while doing so. I am always busy, but honestly I think I have more energy because I am always doing something rather than sitting at home. The super tracker results summary page showed that within the 3 days I tracked my exercise, my...

The positive feedback that I used to receive from my superiors or next level managers always helped me to perform better. ...will change their behavior and their thinking which in turn can effect a person’s effectiveness. Before a person decides to make changes they need to make sure that their behavior is being supportive or if it is not being supportive. There has been analysis that has been done in the past to assess the properties of the Life Style Inventory. Within the Life Style Inventory there are twelve subscales that are considered to be internally consistent. Item total correlations that are generated need to be acceptable of any estimates that are convergent and discriminant of validity. The correlations that are among the Life Style will indicate construct validity. Among the analysis it showed that among the twelve Life Styles there were broader orientations instead of the original that were stated. There was a mapping done of the factor loadings for the twelve Life Styles and it shows that it does not produce any perfect circumflex that will constitute a linear simplex. After I finished the Life Style exercise and getting my results, I see that with my results I will be able to analyze my behavior for both my job and my own personal life. With the results it has allowed me notice how my thinking style has influenced my ability at my job. With the results I have also noticed that there a few...

...Three Day Activity Analysis Tonya Spaulding SCI/241 September 2, 2011 Summer Dale Three Day Analysis Some of the everyday changes I would make to increase my energy levels into my everyday activities would be to exercise in the morning. I believe taking a walk or doing floor exercises would help increase my energy levels on a everyday basis. I believe that exercising and giving yourself a good workout in the morning or even before one goes to bed. Before one goes to bed it will help one sleep in the morning exercising will help give extra energy that is needed throughout the day. I think if one incorporates physical activity at least half of an hour to an hour in the morning helps one in many ways with increasing energy and overall maintaining a healthy lifestyle in general. There are days that I do not want to take walks and if that is the case I will do an alternative exercise. Some other activities like riding a bike, jogging in place, aerobics, sit ups, yard work, or spending a bit more time getting ready in the morning all of these activities will burn calories to help keep ones body healthy. There are some activities that can not be performed year round especially if one lives in parts of the United States were the winters are bad and...

...3-DAY EXERCISE ACTIVITY ANALYSIS Che Harper SCI 241 JULY 6, 2012 PROFESSOR LAWYER 3-DAY EXERCISE ACTIVITY ANALYSIS What are your current exercise habits? My current exercise habits are going to the gym at least three days per week for one hour. I focus primarily on cardio because it helps to burn fat. I complete thirty minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training everyday because I want to lose and tone! I find it easier to go to a gym as opposed to walking around my neighborhood. I tried that and felt discouraged, not quite sure why. But the gym is working so much better for me. According to SuperTracker results summary page, what were your credited minutes, total expended calories, physical activity score, and physical activity assessment results? Provide a screenshot of your results summary. The amount of minutes I exercised for four days were 360 minutes. I spend 30 minutes on the stationary bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 1148 calories daily or 4592 calories over the four days (not sure why the tracker did not include this). I guess I did it incorrectly because I was not provided a physical activity score or assessment results. I could not locate the SuperTracker results summary page. [pic] What everyday changes, if any, might you make to increase the amount of energy expended in your day-to-day activities? There are multiple things I could add to my day to expend more energy. I do, however eat plenty of the daily value of fruits and proteins. The food tracker showed that I should be eating about 2000 calories a day while breastfeeding. When I put int the foods I am eating each day, it was under the daily recommended count. The tracker recommends I eat 6 ounces of grains, 2 1/2 cups of vegetables, 2 cups fruit, 3 cups dairy, and 5 1/2 ounces of proteins. I did not eat enough grains (4 1/2 ounces), but I eat over the recommended protein for the day at 13 1/2 ounces. I did not eat any fruits and I was under the recommended vegetables and dairy for the day. I had only one cup of vegetables and 3/4 cup of dairy. ...Diet and Exercise Analysis Reynaldo Sanders SCI 241 1 December 2013 Jeff Mundt Diet and Exercise Analysis Submitting the information for the Supper tracker was difficult but eye opening. When I had to submit the information I had to do it per single item or as individual ingredients to one meal. This can be difficult if you ate a lot of fast food such as the case for me. I ate out a lot while my wife and daughter went home so the results of the tracker was somewhat startling. I noticed that my diet revolved around a lot of processed foods, preservatives and empty calories. Also this food was not as filling as say the steak I ate on Friday. My eating habits over the last week involved way more fast food than I was used to. Most times I would only eat it sporadically throughout the week but while my wife was out of town I ate out on a daily. I cannot sustain this type of eating as it can be costly both financially and health wise. Based on the website I knew that I was eating more fats than anyone should eat in a week. I know that I have to change from that eating style to more fruits and vegetables for snacks. Another issue is that I did not exercise over the three days that I had covered. I had already said that I wanted to get up in the mornings before work and job but this is a confirmation of some changes that need to be made. Based on the six classes of nutrients (water, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals). Based on my current diet...
