...Come travel to Catalina with me! This past week I got to go to Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. At Emerald Bay you can find many different animals such as the Catalina Fox, Bison, Garibaldi, Deer, and many ocean creatures. There are also many plants like sage, eucalyptus, and many more. Even though there are many plants, don’t expect the island to look like Hawaii. It is not that green, but the water is beautiful beyond compare. Today I am going to talk about the accommodations, food, and the fun activities you will do there. The accommodations are very nice considering it is a camp. The cabins have lots of space. There are eight beds in each cabin with lots of storage such as drawers, cabinets, and hangers. The beds all have a comfortable mattress along with about five windows. On the bottom bunks, as well as having windows, you also have a reading light. Bathrooms are very close to the cabins and have reasonable space. You have two toilets in each bathroom, along with two...

...Come and experience the amazing wonders of Catalina with me! Catalina Mountain Sea Adventure is based off of a strong Christian base with many workers encouraging you to follow Jesus. Catalina Island is very beautiful with many overlooking spots that are breathtaking. You can have an amazing trip and have fun while learning. In this paper I will tell you three things about the Island accommodations, food, and their activities. The accommodations at the camp will surprise you in many ways. The cabins are very nice inside with a lot of storage space and windows that allow a nice flow of fresh air the whole time. The cabins have very comfortable mattresses that have an overlook of all your bunkmates. The bathrooms are very nice with all the accommodations that you would have at home like toilets and warm water. The showers at the camp are used to preserve water. They made the showers like that so when you put shampoo in your hair and body wash you will save water by not using it. They counselors said that they save about one hundred gallons of water a year. The food at the camp tastes so good it’s like eating at a four star restaurant. When it is time to eat the workers ring a loud bell to signify that it is time to eat.The Island is very strict on your...

...Whoopee, Emerald Bay, Catalina was super fun while learning and being in the water! With all the fish and the whole marine environment setting, Catalina was a wonderful place to be to learn and grow in knowledge for our Sixth Grade Science Camp. At Catalina, I had some brand new experiences, learned about the marine life, and grew spiritually. During our sixth grade Catalina trip, I experienced a lot of new things, in which were filled with new memories. One experience that I had was doing the skit with my friends, which was about Mrs. Semanovich asking us about how camp was. In our skit, we joked around a lot and we had seriousness about what we learned, about garibaldi, the California State Fish, and we also had a dance to it. To add, our...

...One national park that has intrigued me is the Channel Islands National Park. I have heard and read amazing facts about these islands. The Channel Islands are eight islands off the California coast. Only five of them are a part of the Channel Islands National Park. What's amazing and special about these islands is that they are isolated; so these islands have evolved independently. There is a lot to do at these islands such as watch the sea mammals, hike, snorkel, and kayak. You can also admire the natural habitat full of rare trees and plants. I would love to visit these islands one day, especially because they are home to over 30,000 seals and sea lions, and with at least five different species of them. Unfortunately, the Channel Islands...

...My Personal Narrative On My Trip To Catalina Island! The amazing and most fun adventure I had at the amazing Catalina island is when all the Catalina “teachers” took us night snorkeling. It was very cold at night and we had to be at dive deck. We first got on all out gear while the amazing Blinky went and got us hot chocolate and we listened to music. Once we got our gear half way on they told us the rules about dive deck and they told us about our “Buddies”. Then when we got into the freezing water and we started our adventure. Until a very horrific event happened. ( not really horrific ) And we discover a very extraordinary looking fish. And before our very delicious final cup of hot chocolate before we went to bed. Me and my group of friends who were in Will’s group were getting our snorkeling gear in the freezing cold weather of Catalina outside on diving deck putting on our gear so we don’t “freeze” to death. While we were...

...to brag about my cousin going to a Four year university and me choosing to go to a two year college. She also told them how my cousin doesn’t give her parents any trouble, and how she’s so perfect. The more she kept speaking about my cousin the more I became annoyed. I don’t understand how she doesn’t see that I get annoyed every time she brings up my cousin. I was so embarrassed. I know I should be use to her behavior, but I will always find myself getting annoyed. Not only does my mother compare me to my cousin, she also treats me like a child. Recently I went to the Catalina Islands for a week with some friends, and although I know how to take care of myself my mom still thinks I haven’t yet learned. The entire trip she kept calling me, reminding me, to put on suntan lotion, or to make sure I watch my surroundings at all time , and extc. Although I know she was being helpful, I couldn’t enjoy my trip because most of the time I found myself on the phone. She also still tries to give me bedtimes and curfews. She doesn’t realize that I am not 11 years of age anymore, so she doesn’t needs to “baby” me. Lastly, she doesn’t know how to be...

Martin was born on January 17, 1886 in Macksburg, Iowa and passed away on December 4, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland (Encyclopedia). Glenn founded the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1912. At the age of two, Martin’s family moved to Kansas so that his father could run a wheat farm (Kansas Wesleyan). Four years later Martin showed a great interest for kites and eventually started designing his own kites. Despite criticism from his friends, people noticed Martin’s kites and would pay him twenty five cents to build one for them. Along with his obsession for kites, Martin would find innovative ways to make everyday activities more interesting. He began using sails for everything: ice skates, wagons, and his bicycle. Nelson, 1979 The Migration of the Indians to the New World. It is believed that the people who Columbus saw when he came to the New World were nomadic hunters from central and East Asia who followed the buffalo and deer. When the herds moved, people moved after them because they were dependent on the animals for food. It is therefore suspected that the herds led the people out of Asia by the north-east, across the Bering Strait and into North America. They crossed the sea by an ice –bridge when it was frozen over during the last Ice-Age. They did not know that they were crossing water from one continent to another. Map 1 Amerindians migration from central Asia into North America. The Amerindians settled throughout North America and were the ancestors of the many Red Indian tribes we know today, as well as the Eskimos in the far north. In general, they were nomadic but some followed settled agricultural pursuits and developed civilizations of their own like the Mayas in South America (check internet reference for profile on this group, focus on...

...George Smith Patton, Jr. (November 11, 1885 – December 21, 1945) was a United States Army general, best known for his flamboyant character and his command of the Seventh United States Army, and later the Third United States Army, in the European Theater of World War II. Born in 1885 to a privileged family with an extensive military background, Patton attended the Virginia Military Institute, and later the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He participated in the 1912 Olympic Modern Pentathlon, and was instrumental in designing the M1913 "Patton Saber". Patton first saw combat during the Pancho Villa Expedition in 1916, taking part in America's first military action using motor vehicles. He later joined the newly formed United States Tank Corps of the American Expeditionary Forces and saw action in World War I, first commanding the U.S. tank school in France before being wounded near the end of the war. In the interwar period, Patton remained a central figure in the development of armored warfare doctrine in the U.S. Army, serving in numerous staff positions throughout the country. Rising through the ranks, he commanded the U.S. 2nd Armored Division at the time of the U.S. entry into World War II. Patton led U.S. troops into the Mediterranean theater with an invasion of Casablanca during Operation Torch in 1942, where he later established himself as an effective commander through his rapid rehabilitation of the demoralized U.S. II Corps. He commanded the Seventh Army during...
